History
Established in 2004.
Kathy has a background in advertising art. But technology forced her out of the business and into working as a secretary in the financial sector. She started doing face painting at kids' parties in 2004, at first on a volunteer basis, but it grew into a sideline business. When the Economic Crash came in 2008, she was laid off from her job, so she started devoting her full energies to Face Painting. And, the business grew from there. Now it's a full time business with her husband Henry and a bunch very talented associates.
Thanks to Kathy's talent and professionalism, Fancy Faces by Kathy has grown into a well known, top level children's party entertainment company. Fancy Faces has been invited to work at such prestigious events as The Hamptons Classic Horse Show, The Harriman Cup Polo Match, The Opening of the new Microsoft store in Melville, the opening of the Southampton Cultural Center and many more.. Plus, of course, hundreds of private parties and corporate and sports events.
Meet the Business Owner: Kathy B.
Kathy was always artistically inclined. From a very early age she showed an interest in creative activities. Drawing and painting, designing and making clothes for her dolls, decorating and creating greeting cards for every family birthday and anniversary. She attended Art classes at the Brooklyn Museum as a young child, attended the High School of Art and Design in NYC and went on to get a degree in Advertising Design in college. Kathy worked in the New York City Advertising world and eventually started a small local ad business in the Long Island suburbs with her husband, also an artist, who she had met in college. In the 1990's, technology and "desk-top publishing" cut into their business so much they both left the business and started new careers. But Art was in Kathy's heart and in 2008, after being laid off from a job as a secretary in a financial firm, she started Fancy Faces by Kathy, a children's face painting and party entertainment company.
