We used K Star Ranch for our wedding. While the venue was a good set up, I wasn't too pleased with…read morethe owner and vendors he pretty much makes you use. Rehearsal: He made our wedding party and parents "gather together" so he could lecture us on if we bring outside alcohol he would kick us out and he didn't care if it was the best man, father of the bride, or whoever it was. While I completely respect any persons rules regarding their property, I do not appreciate him addressing OUR friends and family like that. He should have spoken to us and we would have spoken to our guests if we felt that would be an issue. This wasn't a prom, it was ok to treat us like children. He was so negative the entire day to our families while they were setting up. My MIL nicknamed him Mr. Happy because he always had a negative response to anything and everything or a angry look on his face. The wedding coordinator he suggests you use... Don't. She kept interfering with pictures and telling people where to go. That's what I paid the photographer for. She is in quite a few pictures that were very important, like me being walked down the aisle. His minister he refers to you is very long winded and wouldn't quit talking during the ceremony. So if you like short and sweet, don't use him. He has very many rules that weren't made apparent during our first visit, had I known... We wouldn't have used K Star. Read before you sign. But that was my mistake. Positives: Big space Blank Canvas - neutral colors that go with any wedding colors Pretty landscaping Pretty Gazebo If you end up having bad weather and have it inside, it isn't very "pretty" Bridal and Grooms room are ok, could use some updated decor in the bridal room

My review is from the standpoint of a guest at a Thursday 5:30 wedding and reception. It took us…read moreabout an hour to arrive from our home. We ended up arriving early because we weren't sure how traffic would be coming from the north Dallas area during rush hour, so we allowed plenty of travel time. There was plenty of parking (especially arriving early!) and we found the entry signage no problem. I love all the beautiful stone work on the buildings. This venue is gorgeous!! The wedding was held outside and the photographer was taking pictures outside so we hung out in a seating area in the lobby. I noticed a rug in the center area that had two edges sticking up and I saw several people kinda trip over it. I went to tell the bartender and she couldn't care less, after she dramatically removed her ear bud (like I was inconveniencing her). She told me to tell a staff member! I never saw anyone that looked like they worked there. A little while later I noticed two chairs were moved to that corner of the rug and that appeared to resolve any tripping hazard. The rug was well worn and just needs to be replaced, if a rug is even needed at all. The ladies room, with a sitting area, is spacious and beautiful. I did see a pleasant young lady use a blower to clear all the leaves off the area where the guests would be seated. We went outside to find a seat for the wedding. It was nice that the seating area is down from where the ceremony was held at the top of the stairs, so it had a great view. Right as the processional began a freight train had their whistle blowing, so it might be good if future weddings know the train schedule! Things slowed down a little to allow the train to finish and then we enjoyed a beautiful ceremony. The sun was still streaming in through the trees and there was a slight breeze for a beautiful October outdoor wedding. Everyone was invited to hang out inside the lobby area waiting while they took more pictures outside. It was finally time for the doors to the reception area to open up. The reception area was beautiful and later when the dancing began, there were various colored lights that lit up in the overhead mini balcony sections along the ceiling area. Everyone found their table and then when it was time for the food to be served, we were summoned by table and you walk back behind where the bride and groom presided. There was a buffet line set up and you were served what you wanted by staff. The food was all delicious! We enjoyed attending a wedding at Aristide in Mansfield!

This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences my daughter and I have ever…read morehad while planning her wedding. We had no contact from anyone for months -- since August or September -- and only recently learned from Laura that she is no longer the correct point of contact. No one updated this information or informed us of the change. To make matters worse, my account was accidentally charged $2,413, and instead of receiving an apology or any accountability, I was sent a message explaining their payment policy. Not once did anyone acknowledge the mistake or the inconvenience it caused. The lack of communication and basic customer care is unacceptable. This was supposed to be a memorable and exciting experience for my daughter, but no one has made her feel special or supported throughout this process. It truly feels like the quality of service left when Laura did. At this point, my expectations for how the wedding will turn out in August are extremely low. I would caution anyone considering this venue to think twice before booking.

She walked us around for about 15 or 20 minutes(which was supposed to be 45mins) and rushed us out of there. She spoke so fast my mother didn't understand anything. I was so embarrassed to have ever brought my mother with me because the drive was a bit long, and Megan was obviously bothered by us . I completed two questionnaires online, that Megan was to review with me, regarding the type of wedding I am interested in, but was never mentioned by her. I kindly asked if she had any useful pricing or vendor information that she could print out for me to take home, and her exact response was "did you not look at the email? " I was very excited because we thought we found the perfect venue, however, I refuse to invest money or recommend this business to others due to the blatantly unpleasant and disrespectful attitude from Megan de Farcy. It is more than obvious that this attitude may be a direct reflection from the very person that directs the place, Douglas Brown or Cathy. B

Inside did not disappoint, with lots of detail and open spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions to be held. There is a "man cave" in the basement for the groomsmen and second floor space for the bride and her ladies. An elevator makes traveling between floors a cinch. There is a beautiful pool and ceremony room, which has a wall of glass that allows for views of the property, trees, and barn in the background. Reasons for not offering 5 stars would be the seemingly inexperienced and somewhat inattentive staff and the extremely cold reception space. Many guests were clearly cold (it was a wet winter day with cool temperature) and it felt quite chilly in the space. The staff were friendly however did not seem to go out of their way to check in with guests. You had to flag down the servers for a passed appetizer, instead of being offered one. Hopefully these issues can be improved upon to improve the guest experience and make the wedding couple feel pampered and stress free on their big day.

Weston Gardens is a hidden jewel tucked away south of I-20 in southeast Fort Worth…read more I randomly found Weston Gardens while looking for a Mother's Day alternative one year and was an instant fan. The Gardens boast plenty of discovery opportunities with a legitimate European ambience. Yes, right here in south Fort Worth. Mother's Day deserved special mention because they do it *so fricking well* with live harp music, free flavored teas and cookies, and a free plant for each mom. Weston Gardens is my secret weapon for any special event for the women in my world. It is an exceptionally beautiful and charming collection of connected outdoor spaces. Unless you read a review like this or hear by word of mouth, there's nothing about Weston Gardens to suggest what it is from a casual drive by, should you even have a reason to drive south on Anglin from I-20. Every time I visit I think "this place should be packed". Weston Gardens is also a venue, a landscaping design business, and a nursery. It's a must-visit if you like the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens or Dallas Arboretum. Much smaller in scale than these larger operations, but oozing with charm. And best of all, it's free!
