I'm taking the time to write this...exhausted from night shift to gripe about all their useless…read moreautomated systems that got me absolutely nowhere, while I sit here at a Walmart vision center who got me in faster than that automated system. I started with the online scheduling which asks you for everything but your mother's maiden name...like, I just want to see appointment availability...come on. I got to the very end of that only to get a message stating there was a probaly and to call the office. Ok fine, I call, and have to hit 20 buttons before getting to the scheduling section. Only to be stuck with a robot thing. I went through all those questions, again, begrudgingly...only for they to error out too and was directed to a human (finally!) but...it looped me right back to the robot (ugh!!!). I tried one more time to get human and never did. I wish I would've opted Yes for that post-call survey. What a waste of my time. I got in with Walmart and got my new glasses in less time I was dealing with all that automated crud.

Dr Weardon insisted on a visual field test which could have been done at this visit. However he failed to review my chart prior to the visit. My eyes had been dilated so he wanted me to return in 6 months for the visual field exam. He lacked respect for the patients time.I told him I was comfortable waiting to next year. He insisted on returning for the test in 6 months. He failed to acknowledge ultimately health decisions are the patients choice.I feel this lack of respect for a patients autonomy is a serious problem and I hope Dr Weardon can learn from this experience. Most patients are intimidated by the provider this is just wrong. Providers need to respect their patients.

The ladies at the desk helpful and pleasant. I have been a patient for several years. Dr. Parisi is the only one who has treated me. He is all business and to me that is a good thing. He is highly qualified and busy. He answers any questions I have as he explains what changes have occurred to my eyes. We establish a plan going forward. I have learned over the years that if you are polite and considerate of others they return the favor. MargB

Approximately 21/2 months ago I went to Clemson Eye in Newberry SC. I didn't know at the time that…read moreClemson Eye was part of the Eye Health America network which I consider to be to the detriment of eye health. I went in for just a routine eye exam in that it had been a while since my last exam and just wanted to be sure all was good with my eyes. I have worn glasses for over 40 years. I am a retired Critical Care nurse. I arrived about 10- 15 minutes before my appointment. I had never been to this facility. It was large and it was packed with people. I waited over 45 minutes past my appointment time. Was taken back with a young person doing preliminary tests and dilating my eyes only to go to another packed waiting room and wait another 30 to 45 minutes. It was more like a factory rather than doctors office. When I saw the optometrist, he immediately told me I had cataracts and would need surgery and that I would not get a prescription for glasses today. Met later with the surgeon and learned what would take place and where and all the details. Fast forward to day of surgery and I am at the center. An anesthesiologist came in the operating room and said, "we are going to make to comfortable and with that , I said, "great"! That is the last I remember. I was out so cold that they could have performed major surgery. I don't remember anything else until my husband pulled out of the parking lot and I awoke to throwing up. I opened the car door and stuck my head out and proceeded to vomit for what seemed like forever and I am sure that wasn't the best for my eye. I immediately passed out again until we got home and awoke only to make it to my bed. I awoke early to severe pain in my eye and tried calling the doctor. Well, I found out, there is no direct number to the facility to the doctor. Your call is routed through God knows where and you are connected to someone who can barely speak English and they pass the call to someone who never answered. I tried for over 2 hours to get in touch with someone who could help me to no response, and I remembered I had the phone number of the lady in the office who arranged the surgery and I called her personal number and she called me back immediately and early the next morning was back in the office where my ocular pressure was Sky high and they had to get that down. Over the last 2 months it has been a roller coaster ride and my vision has been altered terribly. Had I talked with the anesthesiologist prior to this surgery, then I could have told him that I have issues with some of the drugs but that was the first time I had ever had any procedure without talking to anesthesiologist first and I was also under the impression that I would not be out but just sedated. And since, have also learned that most ophthalmologists just use numbing drops now and no anesthesia. I am now 6 weeks post op and it has been the most horrendous experience ever and I am 78 years old. Today I went in for another visit with the doctor. Went back with two young women who asked many questions and did eye exam and dilated my eyes. I was very down from all of negatives of this entire experience and just wanted it over and my vision back with or without glasses. As these young women were doing all of this, one of them said to me, " You look like a Disney Character!" I wasn't sure I heard her correctly so I asked, " Did you just say that I look like a Disney Character?" She said, "Yes!" Unbelievable. I am a grown woman and at that point, I almost broke down in tears. I swore that if I ever got through this entire ordeal that I would never go back to this facility again......Never
