The staff here was amazing and patient with my dad's inability to speak. 3 hours or more of physical, speech and occupational therapy each day had my father walking with assistance of a walker, talking enough to tell funny stories and make his need known (not 100 percent or even 50 percent but definitely an improvement). In only 3 weeks, he and I were comfortable in his ability to come home. They showed us ways to continue improvement but mostly kept him from falling into a non productive depressed state of not trying. He had a cheering team. And I have to say the best hospital for I've ever experienced. A month or of rehab and he continues to improve every day and uses what he learned from our exceptional therapists at Yuma Rehab hospital.

The RBT's my son had were amazing, loving, caring and knew how and what to do. I created a bond with each one of them. Each was committed to the improvement of my son and were willing to go the extra mile. His BCBA did the best to provide guidance and knowledge. Our son graduated August 2, 2024. We are forever grateful for all he learned, the friendships he made and to be given the opportunity to be in safe place. The training and process…read moreto get to an RBT is a lot, but in order to have a center to be proud of instead employees are worked to the bone with a 15 min break in a 9 hour day with little to zero help for bathroom breaks. The manager has no experience/knowledge with Autism, and doesn't provide the proper equipment needed to be able to care for these children. The manager would go weeks without paper towels, gloves, and other supplies that are essentials. To add, as well, the center had several employees without their fingerprint card and taking care of children, not up to standard what so ever and negligence towards accidents (diarrhea, vomit, pee, and fever) and would take forever to let parents know because he wanted the hours to be billed. its A disgusting work environment... rethink your decision

I do come from a Hispanic family and often times I see an expectation that whether it be the hospital or rehab rehabilitation that all the responsibility falls on the provider to care for your loved one and that is simply not true. In the American medical system, the patient has to advocate for himself or herself, which means paying attention, asking great questions and following up. I know this because my wife is a nurse and I've gotten to learn so much from her. Understand your loved ones medication's, appointments, requirements, limitations and address them early and often. Admittance : My father was admitted in early March 2025 at age 87 who had a hip replacement from a fall and a possible stroke that left him unable to swallow requiring a PEG tube, and a lot of confusion (likely from dementia). Their job looks like so much fun and part of me wanted to quit my job and work with them. They have so much fun and I couldn't help notice everyone in the therapy room had so much fun. I know I am leaving out people for which I apologize, but really thank you to the whole team. I know my father is super hard to work with. Because of his condition, he's agitated often in pain and struggling with the new normal of being fed through his stomach. I would constantly remind him to use his words and encourage him to do things on his own all in the spirit of getting better. There are a lot of things to pay attention to. I did go every day for the first week for several hours. I took notes, I asked questions and I followed up with my family to come to a conclusion on any next steps. Activities They looked like they had a lot of fun activities and I wish my dad could and would participate. If anything this left me wondering about how I can get my parents involved with activities like the ones they had there at Haven when they return home because the Social part of the elderly is so important. Friends and family interaction and socializing contribute to minimizing dementia especially things like game night, which require troubleshooting and critical thinking. Medications One thing I would highly recommend is downloading and getting access to your loved ones mycare account. I did this back in the hospital and of course before this I was the medical and financial power of attorney and I highly recommend you get yours completed and notarized. In this app, you can see all of the Doctors, nursing, therapy, etc. notes, orders, scans, future hospital appointments, and so forth. One of the things that we had to iterate on with the nurses at Haven was the dosage of medication so that my father could be alert during the day to interact with speech therapy and physical therapy, which is extremely important. it's a balance of managing pain and being alert to participate and take instruction from nursing and therapy. My father is stubborn and I therefore had to remind him constantly that the people there are there to help. They do of course get busy helping a lot of other patients and so therefore you and your family also have to be patient. They will get to you and while your loved one is in pain, Their pain isn't more important than any other patient. They are doing the best they can with the resources available however, once they do get to you, be ready and prepared with your needs, questions and so forth. Be clear and repeat yourself as needed. Not that you cannot ask them back but just be aware they do get busy as they make their rounds. Final thoughts I highly highly recommend this place. Yet he has fallen 2 times while left unattended and was sent to the ER. Very disappointed on the care that is given. Looking to have him relocated. He had hip surgery almost 3 weeks ago yet he has only had a couple of hours of therapy. My dad has dementia, and gets anxiety at night because he is so confused. One person in the front told us we could bring my dad's ESA dog in, and when I brought the dog they told me no. I would NOT recommend bring your LO here.

To begin, the office staff was unreliable and often rude. They would not relay my requests for…read moremedical advise in a good timeframe, even when told things were urgent. Physical therapists would cancel appointments at the last minute, and the staff would not notify us. We were not given the nurse we requested, from an earlier family member's care, and instead given one who seemed superficial and was not good at recognizing serious health problems. Our loved one was much more seriously ill than first identified by the cancer doctor, and the nurse did not communicate to the doctor the quickly deteriorating condition. She gave our loved one the impression she just needed to try harder to beat this diagnosed stage 4 cancer instead of giving us ways to make her more comfortable. Thus, instead of recommending the hospice care she should have had, our loved one's needs were not identified, even though she died three months after beginning care and had uncontrollable pain for much of this time. We received substandard, intermittent care. On the weekly visits, we were given long exhausting lectures on the benefits of good nutrition instead of diagnostic care or ways to make the last few months she ended up having more comfortable. Toward the end, we wanted a change, but it was too late to switch companies by then.
