I went to this Family Mart near Buendia MRT earlier today. I got myself a "Do it yourself" ice cream. I was offered to have the ice cream done for me as they were unpacking the items, and they stacked them at the machinery area where most customers would often go to and pass. So the employee had my ice cream done, but it was too much and did not expect him to make it too big for me to even finish... so I walked towards the counter and asked the cashier nicely if they could give me a cup or just any sort of small container to just place my huge melting ice cream in it so that I wouldn't mess on myself and everywhere else that it would drip on...The cashier ignored the matter and because their policy says that they are not allowed to give any family mart cups and containers... So I offered to pay for one small cup, but the cashier still responded with the same pro-to-call. Then she asked me if I wanted to pay for a drink that comes with a cup. And I thought to myself, why in the world would I want a drink???and pay for it to just a have a cup? Where is the common sense in that? So I stayed indoors and tried to eat my ice cream as fast as I could to stop it from melting and dripping. As I managed to get the ice cream to a smaller capacity, my cone cracked from the weight of the heavy ice cream and it went all over my white shirt, on the table and all over the floor. So i went back to the counter and asked once more if they could hand me a container or just something to place the messy ice cream in, and as the cashier took notice of the matter, she still went with the pro-to-call speech, and I got really aggravated and asked her if I could just please buy a cup or something... so she got pissed off with me and called her manageress, so when the manageress came out to the front... she gave me the same pro-to-call speech knowing the fact that the ice cream was all over me and dripping on the floor already... So I questioned her, " If you were me, if you were to be the customer here, and you had the same problem, do you think it would be right to turn away a customer who is at need of service?", so she got pissed off too and rudely passed me a cup without even charging me, then walked back into the storage room, without even giving me tissue or any quality service that Family mart proclaims to have of their staff... I am very disappointed at the service here in the Philippines... poor service and quality. As if everyone follows the pro-to-call instead of having common sense of identifying the situation and coming up with a solution. I am sorry to say, but majority of the citizens here lack common sense, something very essential to mankind that helps evolve the human race. It is shameful! read more
