We started him off at another martial arts academy, but quickly moved him here after my husband did some research and found this place. The style they practice is Jeet Kune Do. Since our son began attending classes, we have noticed improvement in his confidence and self-control/discipline. He also is respectful to his elders, calling them sir & m'am, which I'm pretty sure he learned from coming here too...they always stress making sure the students have eye contact when being spoken to and that they always shake hands and say "thank you sir/m'am". They have a monthly mantra (or lesson) to teach children about confidence, integrity, perseverance (never giving up), etc. Our son seems to really enjoy attending classes, and is so proud every time he graduates to a new belt (he just got his 3rd - orange). We love that this is a family owned business. All of the staff takes the time to learn everyone's names and they are all really friendly and personable, not only with the students but also the parents who come to watch class each day. They happily listen to any of the concerns we ever have with our son and his behavior, or anything we need to address, which is very rare. American Dragon offers summer camp, after care, and camp on days when Broward County schools are closed. They offer classes for children, all the way up to adults. Sifu Helena even teaches womens' self-defense courses every so often. They also have gatherings a few times per year (a fall pot-luck and Halloween party just to name a few), which is always a fun time for the students/kids to get together and play. Their costume Halloween party is great! Oh, and they also offer "Parent's Night Out" every month or so, which is great for parents to get a little date night for a few hours on a Friday night :-). Anyway, we definitely recommend coming here if you're looking to enroll your child into a martial arts program. They offer a 6-week intro course I believe (which is what we did before signing him up full-time). And you renew every 6 months (or year perhaps).

They teach respect and responsibility in and out of the classroom. Even the ability to test for the next level (belt) is predicated on performance in school, home and class. The parents and their teacher have to sign for the testing! The kids have a seemingly good time in class. They are focused and there is a very even distribution of attention from the teachers to each student so no one student is left out. The owners (Sifu Helana and Sifu Neil) are both readily available and ALWAYS take the time to make each person feel important and address any concerns or questions - no matter how trivial. We feel as a part of a big family at the dojo. The instructors are incredible, they make sure to involve the whole family in the process. The schedule is very varied. My son is receiving his black belt and we feel so fortunate to find Team Creek to help him in this achievement. And that's the only uniform you need. You don't need to buy any additional equipment, and there aren't various marketing strategies employed against you. This is not a training center that promotes you every promotion. I'm sorry to say, but my son's class was supposed to test for belt promotion and they were denied because many students didn't show up in the correct uniform. The students must wait until their sensei schedules another testing opportunity. They have a smoothie bar inside, i haven't tried it yet. My son enjoys their training program very much. I enjoy their friendliness and lack of continued marketing tactics. The price is reasonable.

Krav Maga is a skill set that is very useful for self defense. They have 2 main rooms to teach where they can separate between advance and beginner students. We did their level one and they were so accommodating and considerate that I had a hand injury. They visually showed us techniques and had us partner up and practice ourselves, always correcting and encouraging along the way. We practiced pretend real world scenarios of attackers attempting to choke and grab and how we can overpower them to escape. They provide kicking and punching pads during the practice. The whole experience was enjoyable and fun. I would love to bring my dad here. We had the pleasure to meet the owner Randall who showed us around the studio, that is also super clean and maintained, and Kim our level one instructor. They were both such cool genuine people. I've been a member for almost two years now and I will keep coming back because every kickboxing workout is different. The instructors are all great and each puts their own unique spin on whatever part of the body you work out that day. I will say that at the beginning, it was hard but with multiple classes(and as a member, I can go to as many classes as I want) and with help from the instructors on how to correctly perform each move, I have gotten more confident in my workout. Each workout for kickboxing is around an hour long and features high intensity music to keep you going. You start with a warm-up, do some combos, and finish off with a killer speed round. It may be in a group setting but you definitely get one on one time with the instructor when you can't figure out the combo or how to do the exercise. The atmosphere of this place is always great. Very welcoming and the instructors get to know you. Even if you are unsure of going by yourself, you'll find the other members are all easy to get to know and in the same sweaty boat as you at the end of the class. Class times are mornings or night times(Afternoons too on certain days). Very flexible for people with full time jobs like myself. As a member I'm also able to take other classes such as Muy Thai or Jui Jitsu. If I'm feeling like I want to learn more technique or just get a sweaty workout in, I definitely have options. This place is the best, highly recommend.
