There are three Family Dollar stores near me. This store is not the one closest to me; therefore, I don't come here as often.
This store is located in a plaza, behind a now-vacant spot that used to house Honey Dew Donuts. Being in a plaza, there is ample parking, although pulling in and out of the plaza can be challenging because it's located on a busy part of a busy road.
One quirk of this store is that its neighbor to the immediate left is a gym that holds aerobics classes. If a class is in progress, you can hear what sounds like disco music pumping through the wall that divides the two businesses.
Other than that, though, it's not much different from the other two nearby stores, in terms of merchandise. Items I buy at Family Dollar include paper products; cleaning products; personal care items; and snack foods.
Generally, Family Dollar stores seem to have skeleton crews staffing their stores; if you see two employees on duty, that's apparently considered a full crew. On my visit today, there was no one at the cash register when I walked in. A young man, who was at the back of the store stocking shelves, did greet me promptly, however, and asked if I needed help finding anything (I was looking for a shower curtain liner, and his directions were spot-on, so he apparently knows his store well). By the time I had made my selection, he was at the front of the store, ringing out customers. He was very polite. read more
