Farmers market located in Paterson…read more The parking is an adventure. There is a lot of it but it was a traffic jam. Be prepared for that. They had a lot of selections in the market. Plenty of fruits and vegetables, a butcher, deli, frozen foods, and more. No shortage of options. My complaint here is the crowd. It's nuts in there. Got pushed and shoved a few times and you feel rushed. If only this place was larger with more room for people and carts.

Workers are friendly and personable and you can also purchase liquor here. I've seen a few expired products on shelves so I would make sure to check expiration dates on all products before purchasing. They have their own parking lot on the side of the store so that's a plus. As long as you keep your expectations reasonable here, it's a decent grocery store with good prices.

Not a big problem, I was charged for 2 plátano that I didn't receive. I called the store and was told when I come in again, show the receipt to the cashier and get a two and a half dollar credit. Went to the store, had a full cart of food and showed the past receipt to the cashier. She called over the female manager who looked at the receipt and shouted at me as she thru her arms up in the air, and as she walked away, shouted NO CREDIT FOR THE OVERCHARGE. I walked out leaving the full cart of food behind. NEVER to return, Now I shop at Food Universe, much better, she did me a favor,

Excellent Palestinian / Middle Eastern grocery store…read more 1) They have products from all over the Middle East from Middle Eastern sweets to breads. 2) Lots of drinks selection from the Middle East. Which I enjoy the most, especially the Indian influenced Gulf Arab Chai. 3) They also sell halal meat, if you have that diet.

I was looking for a place to buy high quality lamb. My research led me to Brothers Quality Halal…read moreMeat in Paterson. The store is clean and right to the point. You're in a real old school butcher shop. They have large cuts of lamb and beef and they can cut them into any shape or grind you want while you wait. This is the absolute opposite of the shrink wrapped grocery store, no butcher to be found experience. Everyone working behind the counter knew their way around the serious band saw they were operating. I got six pounds of lamb chops. My family loved them! Super easy to grill, very forgiving. Juicy and tender. We'll be back to Brothers Halal!

New meal prep spot that gives you bang for your buck!…read more My last meal prep guy raised his prices as high as the price of a tank of gas. So I heard about Corrado's and how they made their own meals... called, Power Meals. For the price of one meal you are getting a lot of food! The menu gives you the option for 1 protein and 2 sides. You can add extra's, but my suggestion is don't get too crazy because the price goes higher and it would not be beneficial. The container is big enough that you can cut the portion into half and get two meals out of it. And, for the price of $9 (with tax) that's a truly great deal. FYI: They need 48 hours to make your order so place it accordingly before picking up.

The dessert bar was impressive and I liked how things were presented. Cashiers were friendly. Atmosphere was modern - and it's a relatively big and nice store for Middle Eastern products. I would have liked to see more Lebanese things personally. If you're in New York City and looking for a plethora of Lebanese products, look closer to home.

They do have tables and chairs if you want to sit and eat your food there, but I get mine to go. They are always very generous with the portion sizes and have new or different food items almost every day. If you're looking for good Dominican food that feels like you're eating at someone's house then this is the spot. The staff is very friendly and they do speak English if that matters to you. As a white person loves Latin food, I'm always worried that I'll get treated differently than someone who speak Spanish, but they treat everyone here the same :) It's super clean. The outside of the business could use a little love, but where it matters inside is spotless.

I find myself frequently here, especially when we're out of that one ingredient for dinner…read more Conveniently located inside the Center City Mall (and close to my office), I'll stop by during my lunch break. The PriceRite main entrance is off of Main Street, but you can also take the elevator to MR level if you're in the mall already (it took me a couple of tries to figure this out since I'm usually entering from Ward). I'm pretty sure that PriceRite sources its produce and inventory from many of the same providers as ShopRite (I picked up a bag of ShopRite baby carrots). You can get some of the same stuff from ShopRIte here at a slightly cheaper price (not everything, but I'll look at the receipt and notice how much I saved). One great thing about PriceRite is the selection of international food items (e.g. dried spices for Peruvian, Mexican, Chinese; Asian noodles on the cheap!; various flan cups that I always end up getting) as well as specialty food items (e.g. gluten-free cookies from Tates, Bolthouse Farms protein drinks, Qwest and Luna bars at good prices, are a few surprising ones I found). From what I gather, the inventory is primarily stuff on shelves and cold cases. It doesn't sell stuff like rotisserie chicken or pre-made meals or baked goods that people make on-site. But cold cases and freeze cases with meats, fish, etc. Overall, great prices and the place is orderly, and aisles are organized and well-maintained. Bring your own bags or you'll end up buying reusable or being charged for the plastic ones. I usually walk to PriceRite, but there is an underground garage at Center City Mall. There are a bunch of buses that pass by the location and it's within walking distance of the train station, too.
