Reny's brings to my mind the old department stores that I now miss, such as Zayre's or Mammoth Mart…read more(or nowadays the equivalent Walmart), where you can find nearly everything you want, from jigsaw puzzles to travel cups to game-playing dice. But the search is easier without the vast expanse of those other department stores I named above. I have found the people are friendly and helpful also. We have a branch in our home town, and this one seems familiar and comfortable in its Reny's "brand." We went there because we are playing their Passport adventure, visiting every store in Maine for winter fun.

Every once in a while you'll strike gold by finding an expensive product at a deep discount. The place smells like plastic, the cashiers have to wear vests, and they have signs everywhere that read, "smile, you're on camera!" in what I can only assume is an attempt at both underhanded humor and simultaneous theft deterrent.

Being fairly new to this part of Maine it is good to develop go-to places for different things. So we ordered a large pepperoni pizza and onion rings. The onion rings were good and the pizza was terrific. The crust was just right. There was an odd thing where it seemed like they hadn't finished slicing the pizza. My mouth is large but not that big! But it was a simple matter to finish slicing it myself. The people were friendly on the phone and in person. I read in a review that the parking could be challenging, so I was prepared to park next door if need be, but it was no problem. They had chicken salad sandwiches that were in small round buns (hamburger rolls?) and turkey sandwiches in small sub rolls. They looked intriguing and they were quite inexpensive so I will keep it in mind if I need to eat a meal on a shoestring sometime or if I want something a little different than the norm. Anyway, the pizza was so good I figure I have to try a cheeseburger there with fries sometime. There is no fast food place in town, so having a place to grab quick meals from would be great. Oil course it is also a convenience store with coffee, drinks and other items available. I didn't see any fresh pastries but there was a Nearly empty display there so they may have been sold out. All in all a place I want to try again, and in walking distance too.

Different grades of meat for all price points. The Chinese barbecued prime pork spareribs were amazing! Very tender. Ribeyes I purchased were beautiful and perfectly marbled. They have a selection of grocery products and homemade and local products as well. I purchased some homemade mustard pickles, cookies, and raw butter from a local farm. Everything was fantastic. Pretty good prices on bulk chicken.

This two-store chain reminds me of the AG stores that you find in small towns as an option to traveling far to a supermarket or the very expensive convenience store prices. The people working here are friendly and they carry a fair variety of items. They have a team of butchers and two display cases, so there is quite a focus on meats. The meat prices tend to be a bit higher than the supermarket, though not always, and I assume the quality is higher also. They usually have some marked-down meats I sometimes avail myself of also. They even have frozen chicken hearts, gizzards and livers, the last of which I sometimes buy for myself and our cats (my wife can't stand liver). They have excellent bakery items, store-made take home meals, a fair variety of produce, drinks, snacks - well, you get the idea. They have a loyalty program that, since I do the bulk of my shopping elsewhere, doesn't result in many five-dollar off rewards, but it also gives me access to their weekly coupons. The grocery items are usually a bit higher than the supermarkets, which have an increased volume of sales, but perfectly reasonable , nowhere near convenience store pricing. Plus you are supporting a local business. There are also gas pumps off to the side if you want to get that done while you are there.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Shame on the New Owners for taking advantage of the elderly and the poor and everyone else that goes there. I'm not concerned about expiration dates as long as the packaging is intact; dates are not set in stone, regardless of what some think. I'm getting ready to make another trip to Caswell's soon. They have excellent prices, variety, and quality, if you know how to look. A great place to save money.

They had so many options for running and walking shoes - colors and styles and really great discounts. We ended up buying shoes, all of which were at least 40% off. Such a great deal in a store! Usually I only see these types of discounts online. We bought some for me and some for my niece. I was also able to buy running gloves! The person at the checkout was so nice and upbeat as well. Such a great experience. I just wish I lived closer. Worth stopping to look at running shoes.

New Balance fair exceeds them in customer service! Their competitors don't even acknowledge you when you walk in. They are too busy with their faces in their phones! They never come to check on you. The upstairs is really not organized very well, but the rooms are cool because it used to be an office building and so it's like a maze. Lots of furniture and other large items, very few smaller items. The book room on the second floor is very messy and unorganized. There are books and magazines on the floor, scattered about. They don't appear to be sorted by subject. It's an okay shop to stop in and browse, but it's not somewhere I personally would come back to.
