I wish everyone in this office could be as great as the PA Tracy but they just aren't. There seems to be a level of annoyance from the front desk every time I call. There is no compassion, there is no listening to patient concerns. I had to ask Maureen if she could please just let me finish my sentence. After I was done explaining, there was a long drawn out pause so she could make sure I knew she was annoyed. I understand that I brought to her attention that she was repeatedly cutting me off. As a patient who has fought through two tumors in the past and is concerned it might be back, the slightest bit of kindness would have gone a long way. I'm already calling scared, being made to know that I am ticking her off doesn't help. The nurse who takes vitals seems to have the same level of customer care as Maureen, unfortunately. Update: As it turns out, the doctors blowing me off and forgetting to schedule MRIs forced me to make a much needed change to a new doctor. The new doctors scheduled my MRI and doubled back to do it with contrast. I was diagnosed with pseudotumors and can begin treatment. There is no excuse for the treatment of this office. They shouldn't have a single star. I hope my story causes change. if they were to make some personnel changes. read more

This office has several people in it including doctors and at least one physician's assistant. My mother-in-law's coverage includes this office, and it's reasonably close to home, so this is where we come. Thus far we've found the staff to be friendly and professional. No complaints. And they aren't in a hurry to leave the exam room, staying to answer all questions. The tests they order are reasonable for the complaints of the patient, and they seem thorough in evaluating the results. Overall it seems to be a solid medical practice. We will continue coming here for the foreseeable future. read more

Well..I unfortunately need to update my review. Dr. Smith is no longer practicing and the office was bought out. I took a chance and went to see one of the new doctors. My appointment time was at 11:00 am and I waited in the waiting room for over 1 1/2 hours. asked the front desk manager what was going on with my appointment time and she said that they have a new system and working out the bugs. I was finally taken back to the office. Doctor saw me for all of 10 minutes, I have a lump in my breast that is painful and turning my skin red. After she looked at it she said she "thinks it may be a infection" gave me a shot of antibiotics and told me to go to the ER if it gets worse! The last thing a woman wants to feel, is brushed off when we are dealing with a lump in this area. I spoke with the nurse and told her my feelings and she said she would speak with the doctor, but nothing came of it. No test where done to find out if in fact it is an infection. I will be finding a new doctor and getting a second opinion. Worst experience ever. The practice is no longer a caring practice but a corporate company that obviously only cares how many people they can see on a day to make more money if insurance. I will also be filing a grievance with my insurance company. No reason they should have to pay for such poor care. read more

I loved this office until they changed the front office staff. The doctors have always been bright, listening, and attentive. Unfortunately, the front desk lady is INCREDIBLY RUDE. It's a shame that I won't go here anymore all due to the fact of her. She talks over you, and when she talks, she talks as if you're a child being scolded. I have been a patient for many years and drive over 40 miles to see Dr. Gary Smith or any of the PAs. Dr. Smith sold the business then came back around to support them internally a few days a week since this transition there's been a lot of Front Office turnover and as a result poor customer service for basic needs such as scheduling an appointment. Consequently, they do not have an internal standard operating procedure for complaints, it was treated as classified information when I asked to speak with or leave a message for the office manager in an attempt to report my experience. The receptionist blatantly ignored any of my request literally talking over me and acting as if she didn't hear me then she placed me on hold abruptly without letting me know she was going to do so and she did this periodically throughout the call. It's a great medical staff with the exception of the front office team they need extensive training on how to deal with patients in an appropriate manner. read more

Updated on 8/22 - After 2 weeks and three calls into the practice, I still don't have the prescription refills that were suppose to be sent to my pharmacy. This place is just so incredibly disorganized and ran by complete idiots - AVOID this practice at all costs. I don't even know where to start with this "Practice." The people running this office do not understand how to run a business. 1. Wait times to get seen: 45-60 Minutes after scheduled appointment time with additional wait time to see the doctor. The first time I visited this office was for prescription refills and it took nearly 2 hours to get in and out. I saw the doctor for all of 5 minutes to explain I just needed refills for meds I've been on for 10+ years. 2. Phones: Try getting someone on the phone - WOW it's a full time job. I had to call 8 times to get my appointment rescheduled because I kept receiving voicemail.... I finally got a call back and got it completed, but the effort I had to put in was unbelievable. read more

The staff is absolutely terrible. Wait times are at a minimum 30 minutes. I was told yesterday during a routine physical, which I had to wait 45 minutes to get into, to come back tomorrow fasting for blood work. I was told that the lab opens at 7:30. We arrived at 7:45. After waiting more than 30 minutes, I asked what the delay was. It turns out that they didn't have the paperwork. Why did I have to ask them after a 30 minute wait? Couldn't they have told me immediately? Why was the paperwork not ready when they knew I was coming back first thing in the morning? Other issues are that mssages don't get related to the doctors. The staff is not very friendly at all. They act as If their job is the absolute worst job a person could possibly have. Do they hate people? If it wasn't for doctor Smith, I would never come back. read more

My family has been going here for here for 3.5 years now. We see Tracy Stevenson, PA. If you're looking for a respectful listener who won't rush you out of the exam room, she's your woman. I have a 15 and 18 year old son and they trust and are comfortable talking to her as well. The office staff is efficient and friendly. They do a good job remembering their clients. I saw comments complaining about wait times. I am in this office at least every 3 months and I have had a bad wait time once or twice, and that was late in the afternoon, typical for most offices to be running behind. There is a new Dr there and she is almost always behind, I understand. I will not see her. However, Stevenson- PA, Smith-MD, Carroll-PA, these are the ones I see and trust. I am a self pay and found their office visits to be reasonable and Stevenson is sensitive to costs for self pay patients. Stevenson is practical, down to Earth and treats you as if you have intelligence. Don't you hate medical professionals who talk as if they are the end all? She isn't that type. She is sharp, stays in the know, but is humble. She knows when it's time to go see a specialist and your situation is beyond her expertise. She will educate you and let YOU make the final treatment decision. I can't say enough good things about her professionalism and mannerism. I can't stand condescending doctors and that's why we stay. I loathe disorganized, overworked grumpy desk ladies. They don't work here! I find this office and it's staff in general to be competent, respectful and affordable. I had a problem once with a staff member, reported it to the administration and they treated my feedback with respect and gratitude and I never had a problem with that particular staff member again. I recommend them to everyone looking for a place for the whole family. No office is perfect if they hire mortals. This place is pretty fantastic. They do have a lab in house for blood draws and that is convenient. I can usually get a same day appointment when I call first thing in the morning. The phones open at 8 am but if you walk in at 7 when they open you can get an appointment for that day. Give them a try. read more

I've been here three times to see doctor Chang and every single time I've waited 45 minutes in the waiting room and another 15-20 in the doctors room. When I had to leave an appointment because it had been an hour and I hadn't even seen her yet and had to go to work and they told me to keep in mind she is always running about 45 minutes behind. I have never had a doctors office tell me that. And when you finally do get to see her it's very rushed and in a hurry. They just try to schedule as many appointments as possible to get more co-pays. read more

I have been going here for years. I no longer will and I don't recommend it. I had a 2:45 appt. I wasn't brought back until 3:15. The P.A. Didn't come in until 3:30. I was then told I was going to get a prescription and that took another 10 minutes, for a piece of paper! Also when you call in the recording says you can make appts online. So I hung up and made an appt online. I chose Gary Smith, when I showed up I was told choosing him means you get his PA, well I did y chose her, I chose him. They are far to overbooked to do a good job. Save yourself a headache, do not go there. read more

This doctors office is very clean and close to my home. Doctor smith is amazing and great with people. Amy in the front office is so sweet and is totally their for you. I would have given this place 5 stars but the lady up front is not very friendly. She seemed to get very upset at the smallest things. She seemed to just be there to get a pay check. Went to see the Dr smith for annual physical checkup July last year. Months later got a bill for lab work that he stated its part of the annual checkup and wont be charged. I'm trying to get the office to correct the code in the last 5 months.... OMG...after numerous calls to the office ...still nothing is being done. Any suggestions? My office visit for checkup is cover 100% but the lab work is not. This is all a preventive care and not diagnostic. GEEz. read more

DO NOT SEE ---HOLLY TODD NP---She MISDIAGNOSED me with one incurable diseases & due to her lack of knowledge & due diligence in her "specialized" field WOMENS HEALTH she also failed to diagnose me with Endometriosis! I went in to see Holly Todd NP with debilitating pelvic pain, back pain, irregular and extremely heavy menstral cycles. She ran some "test" and diagnosed me with an incurable disease which had nothing to do with my symptoms?!? She proceeded to tell me, my other test came back normal and MY SYMPTOMS ARE NORMAL! She prescribed the wrong medication to me & said I'll see you in three weeks. I decided to get a second opinion and thankfully I did because MY SYMPTOMS ARE NOT NORMAL!!!! Holly Todd Do you have excruciating menstral cycles? Are you familiar with Endometriosis? CLERALY NOT a professional NP On Womens Health and it is terrifying to know Holly Todd NP has a license to practice in the medical field. This office has become impossible to deal with. You can never get through on the phone lines, and when you do they are always so very rude. Had some issues with my test results and called and left 3 messages with a medical assistant, and still didn't get a call back till I called again! Was told PA would call back to discuss my lab findings, and am still waiting for that call almost 2 months later. Will be finding a new doctor in the future. read more

I first need to say that all the doctors in this office will go above and beyond for their clients but I feel the office staff is chasing away new and long term clients. The doctor's nurses are personable and knowledgeable but they are always running around. Front desk ladies are nice and know almost everyone by name as soon as they walk in. My mom has been going to this group of doctors for a couple of years. They just moved from Mesa to Gilbert and we will be looking for a new doctor for her. She has to wait forever, the Dr is always running behind and then he is always booked weeks in advance. When she needed to see a kidney specialist we (my mom and I) had to call the office numerous times to see where they were in the referral process. She has Tricare for life(military insurance) so I know it takes awhile but not 5 weeks! None of our calls were returned so I often have to go into the office to get my questions answered. Seeing the two doctors and P.As in this practice is no longer worth the drive. read more

Again front desk can't answer phones at 11:15 a.m. so we drove over to make an appt 13 days from now for a prescription review. Again, front desk is eating...gross... then gives you the stink eye as you hand the phone to them to say can we now make an appt since we drove over? Teresa has ruined this front desk and now down to one Doc and one PA.. This staff does not want any business. Sad after 18 years , this place has gone to the worst.. Dialing up another Doctor.. ** HORRIBLE SERVICE!!** My husband and I have been seeing Dr Smith and Tracy Jones for a very long time. If it was only them and Janet (Sonoran Labs Tech), I wouldn't be looking for a new Dr. The office staff at all levels since being sold is the most inconsiderate and rude people I've ever met. I even received a complaint about them when picking up my prescription from CVS. I was a customer service manager for 18 yrs and NEVER would have allowed my staff to treat people (inside or outside of the practice) this way. DON'T BOTHER GOING HERE!!!! read more

Dr. Smith is missed and his patients are suffering. I would have rated Dr. Smith a 10 if I could, but he is no longer there. I'm amazed at how quickly the office has gone downhill. Need to clarify a prescription and I can't reach anyone and no one will call back. I was Dr. Smiths patient for the past 11 yrs and I now need to leave the practice due to substandard care. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. When you call you can never reach a live person and they don't call you back for days. Was never notified that they recently changed ownership or that my Dr. Left the company. Had to come in and fill out paperwork all over again because of the ownership change and meet my new doctor. Sat in a patient room for over and hour and was chased down by the Dr. As I started to walk out. She ordered lab work for me and when I came in they had no record of the types of tests ordered - lab technician had to go see the Dr. To find out, leaving me in the blood draw chair for almost 30 minutes. had lab work done and they said they'd call me with the results when they came in in about a week. 3 weeks later they finally called me after I left messages 3 days I'm a row. Come to find out they had them back 16 days prior and within 4 days of my lab work! Dr. Called and said she was writing new prescription and needed to know where to send it - gave them my pharmacy (they should have already had it on file). Called the pharmacy the next day and they still hadn't received it. Reception staff are rude and not friendly at all. I've called over there at least 20 times and have never been able to talk to a live person. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE - YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. read more

This place is a joke. If you like waiting at least 15 minutes before you get called back then this a great place. I had an appointment just to get a refill on my prescription. I waiting for an hour and 35 minutes. AN HOUR AND 35 minutes!! I saw DR Cheng. Apparently she was behind. It was only 10:00 am. If you are behind that long you shouldn't be in practice. That wasn't even the the end of it. I finally get called back and they ask for a urine sample and some forms filled out. This wasn't my first time there. STUPID!! I told them multiple times that I had my mom waiting at the airport and I was in a hurry. You want to dare ask me to fill out forms when I've been here before and after you made me wait now going on hour and 45 minutes!! Dr. Cheng was rude. I normally see Dr. Smith. I will never go back to this place ever again!! Even to see a different doctor. It's not worth it. I'm always waiting in the lobby for a long period of time before I even get called back. Then your waiting again in the room. Also the receptionist will sit there while your in line and will not acknowledge you. Not a "just a minute I'll be right with you" nothing!! Like your not even there. This office is only 6 minutes away from my house so that was a plus. I'm willing to drive a lot further than to ever step foot in this office again!! I wish so badly I can give 0 stars. But apparently yelp won't allow that. read more
