Fam Dang wasn't the first Pho I've tried in town but it has definitely been the best so far. We were seated quickly, and our food came quickly as well. The waiter, even though they were busy, came by immediately to check on us when we made contact and motioned that we might need something. Interestingly and unexpectedly, the music was really great! It fit the overall warm, buzzing vibe of the restaurant. I would definitely bring a friend here for dinner, especially because it's in a good area that's nice to walk around. This place is GREAT! Service: I was immediately greeted and seated, and the waiter did not seem to rush me even though I took a long time reading the menu. The only concern I had with the service is that the waiter did not speak English, so there was some difficulty ordering as a foreigner. Food: I ordered the minced meat spring rolls (spring rolls here are crispy egg rolls, while the summer rolls are the vermicelli wraps in rice paper) as my starter. These were fried to perfection and very tasty, and it also came with a side salad as well. For my entrée, I ordered the pho bo chin, which is a well-done beef brisket noodle soup. The broth was light, but very comforting, especially on a cold day. It also had generous portions of both meat and noodles. Lastly, I ordered an iced coffee as well, which was mediocre (maybe I should've tried the Vietnamese espresso instead). Overall, I would definitely stop by again and try some of the other dishes on the menu. I do not recommend you to go to this restaurant if you have expectation when it comes to customer service. Food came to fast which means it wasn't just cooked for me, rather kept warm - also I wanted a customised mango lassi. Their mix is mango, milk and coconut milk. I simply wanted the milk to be replaced with yogurt which is the norm with a lassi. When it arrived it came without milk nore yogurt. I requested to get it fixed and they ignored it. I didn't want to pay for the service I received and they nearly called the police until another guest got involved which sorted the situation . read more

I would say food is fine, of fair price but it is not too extraordinary exciting. I feel like a tourist there.they even not letting you to have a longer look on the menu before they decided what is the best for youOr may be they already had too many customers at this busy place, so it is not necessary to have more time in making the choice?? The rice that I have ordered came really fast like in 2 minutes and give me a strong feeling that I am in a food factory. Can't even give it one star, only choosing one because I have to. If all you care about is convenient food and don't care about insolent and unkind service then this is the place for you. Whatever you do DO NOT, DO NOT PAY WITH CASH! If you do, then you better pay with exact change. They insist on you only paying with cash but it is so they can cheat and steal from you. The food isn't even that great! The pho is watery and I'm sure the meat is not always fresh. They owed me £30 in change and refused to give it to me, ganged up and bullied me in front of customers, then refused to replay the CCTV footage until I eventually just left after they lied and told me they couldn't speak English after having an entire conversation in English. A really cool Vietnamese restaurant ejer you can get autentic and tasty Vietnamese food for s really good price. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. Definitely a great choice if you are looking for some nice Asian food in the Mitte. Just be aware that they do not accept credit cards. read more

Fon't get me wrong. Despite 3 stars I go there often. Fam Dang is one of these places that have cheap food which is good enough. One of my favourite menues, Menu B (just a random curry) has a surprising amount of fresh vegetables. You can be in and out within 20 minutes, pay 5 Euro and be full for the restnof the day. Wouldn't go on a date there, but food wise it's fine and good value. read more

DO NOT ORDER HERE!! When I ordered my meal I picked the beef plate and with the dish it only came with 2 little pieces of beef. I took 1 bite of it and the dish was disgusting. So I kindly asked the waitress to just simply have another dish as my first meal was inedible. When it came to paying for the bill they refused to take off the meal after 1 it was disgusting and 2 it was false advertising for a beef plate. i ended up having to use an Epipen, because i had an allergic reaction. I told them I was allergic to peanuts, but well... you ll see, the waiters' attitude leaves a lot to be desired. They changed my dish after I told them there was peanut in it. I took the food home and gave myself an injection as my reaction got severe. Pretty good pan-asian food. I had the lunch special curry with duck. The salad, rice and duck all came in this lopsided bowl with the chopsticks standing straight in it. Ok I am not one for any food in lopsided things AND it is a huge faux pas in asia to stick your chopsticks like they are incenses in a praying pot for the dead. The food is good tasting although I wouldn't go as far as to say they are keen cooking free range chicken or anything. The atmosphere can feel a little uneasy considering they play techno/pop charts at a high volume. I don't usually hang out in Mitte but I had some time to kill before a show and I was pleasantly surprised. I got the Duck with vegetables, the portion was VERY generous and the quality of ingredients and taste was on a different level to most other Vietnamese restaurants. I usually pay about 1€ less in xberg but the food alone made up for it. Also it looks like it's been renovated lately and looks sleek but at the sale time charming. Even though I am not the biggest fan of asian fusion restaurants, I decided to try it out as I have heard good things about it. And i think the food is ok, but the lunch menu has a great price. The portions are not too big, rather just right and the veggies also fresh. the only thing that i found that is a big different is that i.e. the red curry comes with tofu or meat and then fresh salad on top, but no additional veggies. It tastes good, but just something to get accustomed to. The reason why I am only giving 2 stars is that all the curries seem to taste like fish sauce :( read more

Rude staff alert - took away our sauces when we had just started eating, started cleaning up our table by throwing used napkins into the plates when we hadn't even answered to their request to clean up, then to top it all demanded we pay them a tip. My friend and I said we have never been "demanded" a tip and it was up to us to decide (so could you please leave us the bill and go away so we can leave however much we want?), and after their service, we didn't want to, to which the waitress responded with insults. They only take cash, which is often the case in Berlin, but got very upset (??) when we asked to split the bill (in cash). read more

This place is cheap, very central and the food is always fresh and tasty. At the moment i am taking often(perfect for the summer!) teh sommer rollen and the glasnudeln salat w tofu and everytime is extremely good and fresh. The shakes as well are refreshing and cheap (for a 0,3 its around Eur 2,50); i would recommend the ananas-mint shake! Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but in general i am very happy to live close to this restaurant :) read more

Great place for lunch. Try the crispy duck in coconut mango sauce, for a couple euros you can get a feast!

I chanced upon this quaint eatery while aimlessly meandering about downtown Berlin. The place is aesthetically pleasing; the walls are draped in newspaper with an old, vintage feel, and all the furniture is wooden. My friend had the glass noodles, and I ordered a classic pho bo. One of the good phos in Berlin. Big bowl of rich broth and fresh ingredients. I believe their noodles are homemade! If you go there order the pho bo (or at least another soup). The other dishes from the menu are not bad either - but no more than a little above average. read more

The place itself looks smart, out and in, but looks are deceptive. The main dish (Beef) was terribly bland and tasteless and the salad was served with no finesse and was just piled onto the plate. I was amazed by how many people were eating in there after this sort of food. read more

I have been to this restaurant many times and they have always been friendly. I just had the worst service tonight. First time I have had to walk away from a restaurant. I ordered two pieces of spring rolls and the waitress with the orange hair thought I meant two portions. I corrected it while she was taking the order and apologised, yet she hissing at me! Since I was ordering takeaway, I didn't give her a tip so she proceeded to give all the change back in only 2 cents pieces, a ridiculous amount, when she clearly has larger coins. She refused to change it so I cancelled the order. She hesitated giving me my money back until I told her firmly its not the right thing to do. Maybe she had a bad day but that no way to treat a customer. read more
