Besides the glaringly obvious fact this establishment is jam-packed with absolute elite talent who take such great care and pride in their craftsmanship, the level of sickness these artists drop on a daily.... I'm both immensely appreciative and jealous all at once. Beyond all that, the vibe of this shop is a huge part of the pure magic of the sparrow in my humble opinion. I've never had the privilege of spending an entire day in the shop (Legion's chair don't even get me started fangirling) getting to experience first hand the camaraderie, mentor/mentee, supportive, warm, inviting, down to earth and accepting group of individuals interact and share their talents was addictive. It made me wish I possessed any one single talent remotely useful to be lucky enough to work in an environment like this shop. Took my oldest son here for his first tattoo, done by Nate. Nate did just absolutely phenomenal work and everything was on point in terms of sanitation and hygiene. The vibe inside was great. Hector up front was good as well. All aftercare was clearly explained. I've had quite a few tattoos and this was a shop that I would gladly come to for some work on myself. The only thing which wasn't overwhelming positive is that there was a young child in the shop, he was clearly the child of one of the artists there, and that was a concern for me on a few levels. This is what happened to me, I'll let you decide for yourself. I scheduled a tattoo appointment with this shop and paid upfront. The appointment was canceled by the tattoo artist and wanted to reschedule for an additional $150. I let her know I was not going to pay to reschedule due to her cancellation on our initial appointment. Which I was told I would have to pay to move forward. At this point I let her know I wanted a refund and she let me know it would take 2 weeks to receive a refund with 30% cancellation fee since I no longer wanted to move forward. I paid in total $680 and expected $400 after all charges. After 3 weeks I reached out to find out I was blocked on all communications by the tattoo artist. I then emailed the shop manager for more information and was told I had to pay the $150 to receive my refund. After I refused to send more money to receive my refund I was told to go to hell and I'm not getting a dime. So after multiple attempts to get to some resolution I'm left no choice but to seek other options to recover my payment. I got two piercings done by Billy. The cartilage of my ear, helix and my nipple. I've gotten plenty of piercings done before, so I feel like I know when a piercer is good or not relative to all the other four piercing parlors I've been to in the past (all decent but one terrible experience). There is a room specifically for piercings, and Billy talks you through the do's and don't of how to care for your piercing and such, regardless of if you are familiar or not. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and straight to the point about what you need to know. He is extremely professional and you can tell he knows what he is talking about. I felt very comfortable getting both of my piercings done. The way he walks through the process with you is very easing, I would highly recommend seeing him to get any piercings. I had a good consultation with him. The day of the initial appointment he sketched out a drawing he had in mind and it worked great for me. Took a $1500 microbladding class at fallen sparrow tattoo with Amanda , it was the most disappointing experience I have ever encountered in a learning situation. Unorganized, NO KIT, plus the 2 classes were a week apart. I'm at a serious loss bc I'm Wondering what exactly I paid for. Most courses like this set you up with a kit! It was a 4 hour class where you get 1 skin 4 disposable blades 4 brow rulers 1 tube of color 4 ink caps one small numbing cream. Which is prob about $60worth of supplies . Then on the book she gives she gives you your supply list that is about $275 , you couldn't have provided your students with the supplies to set them up for success? Not only that no serious tattooer is buying their products on Amazon. It was a total Scam ! The demo I was supposed to attend a week later hours before I'm supposed to microblade a client ,was never in the syllabus ( because there was not one ) so I missed the only demo that was apart of her course. Not only that amanda does not teach the sanitation correctly, GREEN SOAP IS NOT A DISINFECTANT FOR YOUR MAYO TRAY, whether you put a wrap on it or not. Cold sterilize EVERYTHING. It's very dangerous to pump out these microbladers & not teach them the proper cross contamination procedures. Then after all that I received a certificate that YOU DO NOT even need , she made off her computer. Did not even take the time to print them out. I asked for another demo -she set a time for a new demo and she left me waiting for over an hour! Then said oops forgot to tell you. I live an hour away ,I left the shop. I got my tattoo here last week after Russell van Schaick (aka findyoursmile on instagram) reopened his books and started tattooing at Fallen Sparrow! I was able to get an appointment with Russell via his website. I was really surprised at all the negative reviews for this shop (but a lot of them seem fairly old). I was greeted warmly by the front desk person, and check-in was a breeze. The shop was clean, and I was in and out in about 2 hours (impressive!). Russell was great (but of course, he's the best!). He was able to design my piece based off one sample I showed him in my original inquiry (note I was pretty flexible with the piece, I came to Russell specifically for his watercolor style). He has a great eye for detail, and I really appreciated him talking through what he was doing throughout the process. The man is a beast! Fast and talented, what more can you ask for? At no point did I feel rushed, and I'm so happy with my new tattoo. It's gorgeous and high quality work. read more

This is my last resort to possibly get my tattoo done or atleast my deposit back at this point. I went with my sister to get a tattoo here and really liked the artist and his work. I sent in an appointment request and they got back to me quickly and collected a $50 deposit. I reached out to the artist to reschedule because my best friend was getting engaged and I needed to be out of town the day of my appointment. The artist was nice and understanding and I was more than willing to book out to whenever he had availability since I was rescheduling but I have reached out not once but three times now even to the tattoo shop itself via email and have not heard anything. I understand deposits are non refundable but what I don't understand is the lack of responsiveness when I wasn't expecting an appointment asap and I also never read anywhere stating I would be forfeiting my deposit by rescheduling. I'm just annoyed and don't even feel comfortable going back and would appreciate my deposit back.... Being kind goes along way... l really wish things would have been different on my first visit with them.. this was all new to me... l didn't want to personally mention names not to hurt any one person.. After all the paperwork was taken care of, Tru was nervous but excited. She had been wanting this piercing for a long time. This place is just horrible. Don't listen to the people who say "you pay for what you get". This "tattoo shop" only wants to rip you off. I went in with my best friend looking to get a matching rose tattoo. We told the guy (I forget his name, wasn't worth remembering) we wanted a small realistic blue rose on our ankle and he told us that it would be $150 each tattoo and he wouldn't change his price because the tattoo was a lot of little detail. Reluctantly, we say ok and he started drawing our rose. He comes back with a sketch that doesnt seem realistic at all and when I asked him "Are you sure it's going to look real?" He gives me an attitude and makes a rude comment about how he know what he's doing. Long story short, my tattoo is FAR from realistic. This thing is on my body for the rest of my life and I hate it. Went in today to fallen sparrow tattoo, we are visiting from California and me and my husband wanted to get a tattoos before we leave to go home, My husband ended up getting a filler piece done on his arm by Sam & he charged him $500. No way should it have coat that much! And he didn't tell my husband before had how much it was going to cost. My tattoo was only $250. And wasn't much smaller in my opinion (my tattoo was done by someone else in the shop and I love it) his tattoo only took about an hour and a half at the most. Way too overpriced. I get it is a tourism area and they do jack up their prices but I told the guy I was a local and that I could possibly come back for more but it didn't change anything. I paid $170 for a tattoo that's not even the size of my palm, and has 2 colors in it, and my tattoo looks like shit. The line work could be a hell of a lot better, the coloring is blotchy instead of blended, and the guy was so heavy with his hand I actually scarred in some places.
