Not only are the monthly fees already overpriced, but now they're charging $15 for a single game on a Sunday--seriously? When we politely questioned the price, the person at the ticket booth gave us attitude instead of an explanation. It's frustrating to see youth sports becoming more about profit than the kids. An update is long overdue...and it's 3 stars. I should've written an update when it was a solid 5…read morestars but this summer (2025), the City of San Marcos partnered with Premier Aquatics and unfortunately, sometimes with change, things go a bit downhill. Before Premier Aquatics, there were plenty of chairs and lounge chairs in the shade, the pool was open during the summer 7 days a week, 12-5, and every Friday night was 'Family Nights' from 6-8. The lifeguards brought out a huge obstacle course and all the kids loved it. Not anymore. The pool is open less hours for recreational swim. M-Th 12-3. F-Su 12-5. There are way less chairs, and no more 'Family Nights'. It's pretty obvious why the rec hours are limited...Premier Aquatics makes more money off swim lessons than they do with recreational swim. They offer more pool passes at different price points, but none of them are through the City of San Marcos. You're buying it straight through Premier Aquatics. My kids still enjoy it, but....meh. 3 stars.

Glad we found this kids recreational sports league. This would be my daughters first official…read moresports team and she loves it. She started not knowing a lick of soccer and now she's in there kicking her way up and down the field and she feels proud she got the player of the game medal last week for saving a goal in which the other team would have tied. The coaches are nice and all the kids have good sportsmanship. My older daughter wants to play also but they have an age cutoff of 8 years for soccer and I believe 7 for baseball. You can go to their website to get the latest information and start of new seasons and schedules. Two thumbs up for i9 sports couldn't have asked for a better first experience for my baby. So if you're debating a kids sports league i9 is the way to go.

They make up rules on the fly and do not stay true to the rules they set out. You say something to the owner Jesse and he brushes it off and doesn't care. The league is not fun and too expensive. You pay ref fees only to be treated like crap. Such a trash unfair league. Never again will I play in an echo athletics event or recommend anyone to them. Very disappointed that the city of Carlsbad let's this happen.

Our team has played an entire season and not had a consistent "set of rules". Today out catcher had to call out the ump about a strike that was clearly a strike he at least changed mind and called it what it was. There seams to not me a consistent judging of what is a playable ball and what should be a foul ball. He actually said some of his calls were "my rules". The game is super fun but it is just not run fairly. In my opinion if we had the same umpire again I would recommend to the team we unite and say we will not play with him making the calls.

She had the opportunity to make the varsity team for her senior year of HS, but quit because SoCal took away her joy for the game. This is due to always mixing bad players with good players, so the bad players can improve (if possible) and stay with the club longer. This meant losing the majority of their tournaments due to sh!tty players. When SoCal has tryouts, it's not to make a team of your skill level; it's so they can know which teams to put the bad players on. The mix is like 40% bad to the rest of the Team. Yeah, losing all the time due to bad players does not make for a good experience.

Carlsbad Village Athletic Club hosts Sunday morning yoga every week near the volleyball nets on Frazee Beach. Their waving yoga banners are easy to spot from the sea wall. The instructor is very lovely. She led the small class of five through a blend of opening poses & set a peaceful vibe, complete with some gentle assists & eucalyptus oil therapy. CVAC's rates recently increased from $10 to $15 a class, which is steep for a one hour outdoor session. $15 is on par with indoor studios that provide other amenities & equipment. With the nature of the soft sloping sand at Frazee, I personally found it too easy to dump all my weight into my wrists in inverted poses. Unless the class moves down to the more solidly packed sand, Frazee is better suited for meditation, seated, or standing poses. Beach yoga is a win either way, and CVAC's class is definitely worth checking out on a snoozy Sunday morning.

The yoga teachers have their own style, rhythm vibe and teachings which I love for the variety. They offer classes on Saturday & Sunday mornings and between the months April to September they offer Sunset classes which are breathtaking! I have asthma so I find doing the classes outside provides open-air versus inside where the air can be a bit stuffy at times causing it hard to breathe and making it unpleasant. Yoga should be relaxing allowing you to be present and aware of oneself in the moment. The stimulation we received from our senses in this outdoor environment make the whole experience different.......Like the feeling of sand beneath our feet or hearing the waves crash against the shore and let's not forget natural absorption of vitamin D from the Sun! Yes, at times it can be challenging because the ground is unstable but know your body and know your limits. I personally like it because it challenges me to work on my core more. All the teachers are certified and can help you with any modifications. I highly recommend CVAC Beach Yoga. You just might see dolphins or whales and that my friend you will not find in a studio!
