We've been coming to fall harvest orchard for a few years and it seems to get better each time! Entrance is free but you can buy wristbands to be able to do more of the activities like the giant slide, large corn pit, mini putt, etc. The wristbands are well worth the price for the little ones in my opinion. They're able to do as many activities as they want and there are SO many to choose from. However, you can have plenty of fun there without the wristband. There is a smaller corn pit, animals to pet and feed, and other free activities to enjoy. There are also plenty of food trucks and spots to grab drinks which makes it ideal to spend a few hours there at least! In addition, they do have some apple trees to pick apples from if that's something you're looking for. It does get VERY busy so I'd recommend heading there pretty early. We had such a great time at Fall Harvest Orchard! There's plenty of parking and tons of open space for walking, running around, and exploring. It's the perfect place for families - kids can feed live animals, play games, and enjoy so many fun activities. There are lots of free things to do like hay hill, duck race, corn pit, basketball, football, corn hole, and wall maze. There are extra attractions for $5 each - or you can grab a $25 wristband and enjoy everything as many times as you want! Mini golf, giant slide, ride-on go-karts, and the big jumping pillow. They also have food, drinks, pumpkins, and apples available for purchase, so you can make a whole afternoon of it. Fall Harvest Orchard is an annual tradition for our family, we've been coming here every fall for about 7 years now! It's amazing to see how much they've grown and how they keep adding more activities each year. We appreciate the flexibility of their free and ticketed/wristband activities. We opted for tickets this time since our daughter is getting older and a little less interested in the younger kids' activities, but the unlimited wristband option is still great for little ones. This place is literally an absolute must for fall! My whole family enjoys it year after year and each year they keep adding even more to it, so it's perfect for the kids! They do not charge an entry admission, so you could go and buy pumpkins, anything at their apple store or any size apple picking bag to pick your own. Then in addition they have so many things that are free for the kids to enjoy, so we could spend the whole day just during free activities there if you wanted! You can feed the cows and goats apples and oats. There are so many animals that you can pet. There are different climbing structures made out of hay or tires, etc. There are a couple small corn pits that you can jump in and play in. You can hold baby chicks. And so much more! The photo apps there are endless. And this is just the free stuff. On Thursday and Friday you can pay $10 for a wristband and participate in 10 activities an unlimited number of times. There are also a few food trucks on these days. On Saturday and Sunday there are 20 or more activities that you can participate in an unlimited number of times for $20 for the day. Incredibly reasonable for what you get! I also saw they offer a discount if you were buying three or more wristbands just to make it even more affordable for families. Our absolute favorite Apple is the sweet tango, so we bring back our basket each year for a discount price and pick a bunch of apples. Then we go into the store and buy more apples that are pre-picked! There you could get seconds or baking quality, but they are still in excellent shape in my opinion. Have delayed on writing a review for this place because even though it seems to expand each year, it still feels a little like a hidden gem! We just love everything about it! It's apple picking season again! We went in Labor Day towards the beginning of the season and it was not busy. Depending on the apples you're looking for some of them are still ripening. At the time we came the first kiss and star apples were ripe. We also really love the chestnut crabapples here. We did a 1/2 peck which came out to $20 and weight out to approximately 5-6 pounds. They also have already picked bags for about $12 if you're just needing to pop in and grab apples for a dish or baking. Things are pretty straightforward here which I appreciate and the trees are clearly marked so you know which varieties you're looking at. There's also lots of family fun here and we saw plenty of families going to the petting zoo, corn pit, gem mining, and grabbing food and apple specialties at several of the food trucks around. Weather was also spectacular which was just the cherry on top. This is our second year coming here and we hope to continue coming here. read more

Such a fun family friendly place to visit in the fall. Tons of farm animals & plenty of free activities. They even set out food baggies for kids to take and feed the animals. We purchases delicious caramel apples from the shop and took cute pictures with the pumpkins. My only "complaint" is that I wish they had more classic food trucks - the line for the basic food truck (burger, hotdogs, chicken strips, etc) was so long we didn't bother eating at the orchard. A good variety of trucks, though - dessert, popcorn, pizza, root beer, and more. The website shows what food trucks will be at the orchard on which days - very helpful! It is an easy and pretty drive out of the twin cities that I would happily make again. Parking was easy with several parking attendants directing and giving instructions. Been coming here for the last 5 or 6 years with the family and friends. This is out fall apple picking spot and we love it. Over the years, they have added more attractions and food trucks. They always have something for everyone. Corn maze, hay ride, corn pit, slides, train rides and of course apple picking. The staff is super friendly and there are lots of options for food with food trucks on site. The activities will keep the kids busy, especially the younger ones. Their store has everything apple related as well as caramels and maple syrups and a whole host of other things. We hope to continue our yearly tradition and it is great to see them doing so well and prospering. read more

This was a cute farm! We enjoyed that all the activities are fairly contained and there weren't lines for most things even though it was fairly crowded. It was nice to see all the food trucks, some look like they are run by the orchard and some external. The food was decent; one word of caution is that the orchard food trucks close at 5, an hour before the orchard closes, so plan accordingly. The one thing that was a bit of a miss was the actual apple picking set up.. none of the trees were labeled so we had no idea what variety was where. We ended up buying honey crisp from the store but I wish we had a chance to pick different varieties. They also had a new variety, Triumph, but were not offering samples, which is disappointing. On a negative note, there were LOTS of bees and lady bugs and other kids of critters. Not a whole lot they can do but just wanted to point out if that is a concern for some. read more

Apple picking was nice, there was a good selection. I can't go back here because of the way they had their animals housed. Open to children of any age was an area where you could pick up baby chicks. No employee supervision. I saw kids holding chicks upside down and running with them. Not safe for the chicks and I'm surprised they haven't lost one yet with that happening. If you're going to let kids hold animals you need to be there to supervise them and teach them how. Some of the alpacas on the far side of the space had sores on their faces and warty looking growths on their faces. There were bunnies in a 4x4 white space with nothing to hide under except straw. All the outdoor animal spaces had thicker muck and wet straw. Unimpressed with the animal husbandry here, this place has some work to do. read more

Fist time here and heard that they have expanded their operation quite a bit from two years ago. We didn't try the corn mazed or the apple cannons. Didn't picked any apples. So...this orchard has changed a lot in the last 8 years. It used to be we felt like we were talking to farmers and learning and having fun (and spending money) Now it feels like their primary goal is making money. The welcome table where they sell tickets was not welcoming. My kids still like it ok, but it's become so much more touristy and $$$ and tickets and wristbands and just not my style. When things get more expensive, I notice families seem crabbier. Crying kids of all ages, more freaking out about the bees, general grumpiness. read more

Living in Delano Minnesota we have so many great apple orchards to visit! First stop in 2019 is this one! It's a little special as my middle child is working here this season! They have a load of activities for kids along with of course an apple store! From a big pillow jumping thing to animals you can feed as well as a great corn maze you will have a blast here! They have a food truck as well selling burgers, dogs and grilled cheese plus some good snacks! You can pick your own apples and they have a great variety to choose! The orchard is nice and the apples are very good. Lots of things to do and the accept cash and cards as payment. They have lots of animals to enjoy. That was a highlight and a disappointment as they had baby chicks in an area with no supervision and no protection. By the time we got to that area the chicks looked to be not doing well and I'm sure they will probably die as tons of little kids were grabbing and holding the chicks all day long. some of them were not gentle I saw one little girl with a chick in each hand jumping up and down. There are also kids in the pens of the goats and other animals with no staff around monitoring the situation. Please take care of and protect the safety of the animals in your care. I don't think I can be a patron here if they don't Take more precautions with the safety of their animals. It's too heartbreaking. read more

A wonderful family apple orchard experienced! Unlike many others, they charge no admission. You can spend your money on tickets or pony rides, hayride, and a couple of other things. However if you don't want to come and spend money you don't have to! The hayride experience was a lot of fun! We had the owner as the driver and he stopped and told hilarious stories about how the apple orchard is run. Towards the end, everybody got a fresh crisp honeycrisp apple which was delicious and juicy. I am very impressed with this place and hope it continues to be operated in the manner does operated right now. It's a real winner. read more

This was definitely worth the drive out to Delano from Minneapolis. The orchard is family run, not as Disney-fied as Applejack Orchards, has great prices and a range of activities and lots of open space for kids. Unlike Applejack, you can pick apples every day, not just the weekend, which is vital - weekends at orchards (probably even this one) are chaotic. We went on a Monday, and there were maybe 30-40 people there, despite the perfect weather and abundance of ripe apples waiting to be picked. Lots of little animals for the kids to interact with - baby goats, kittens, chicks, etc. Honeycrisp apples were ready, and we picked out own. They also had the SweeTango and a handful of other varieties. Left with enough apples for many weeks and lots of great photos. read more

Went for apple picking with family. Very nice very clean. All the petting areas had sanitizer at each stop. The apples were fun to pick. Pumpkins of all sizes were not only for sale but also set up for fabulous picture taking. Games were set up for family entertainment and a fun corn maze to walk thru. Our favorite moment was the young man managing the corn maze. He was so friendly though he was very young and had a cat named Mickie keep watch over the corn maze. The young man was so friendly and very good with the children The staff in general was friendly helpful and courteous. Perfect family outing. This is a great family owned orchard! Lots of animals and great family experience! Favorite metro area orchard.

You walk in, and right away, you see goats, pigs, an ox (I think?) with big horns, calves, chicks, a few corn-boxes (like sand, but with corn), sit on tractors, and see lots... all for free. They have a shop to buy apples, etc, and a trailer ride behind a tractor is currently two dollars a person. This is an inexpensive place to tire out the kids and have fun! The owner walks around and is very friendly, the tractor ride was great! read more
