So let's all just be real with ourselves, no one likes the dentist. I have found a few over the…read moreyears that I've liked aspects of my visit but not the whole visit. HOWEVER, I will say that this is the first time from start to finish. I changed dentist due to my work and location so this past winter I was looking for a new dentist. I asked a co worker of mine and she recommended this dentist. I did my own research and decided to give it a whirl. The front office staff was great. And my hygienist was knowledgable, talked me through everything and even made a note in my chart about preferences much appreciated. Additionally, they do provide fluoride for their adult patients. This is crucial and I've been getting this ever since I've gone to the dentist. Meeting the dentist was great, she was personable and shared her advice with me about my concerns. She did not force me into any decisions and said it was my choice but she would air on the side of conservative treatment. Overall, it was a great experience and honestly I am not dreading my next appointment.

Can anyone truly say they enjoy a dentist visit? Me either....but, everything was on time, the…read morehygienist was EXTRA gentle (which I needed), and the dentist was able to make recommendations to correct an error made at a different office. Everything was spotless and I liked the very private room my cleaning and x-rays were done in. I'll be back in a few weeks to get some minor work done and, for probably one of the first times in my life, am not dreading the follow up visit.

My insurance in 2025 included dental work as long as you used a "network" dentist…read more I tried to interview a number of dentists and decided on this practice. Let me tell you, if you are scared of Halloween stories you may not want to continue this post. Everyone was really nice; they always gave us some cute dentist object to take home. My initial review probably indicates this. Now for the saga. We were always asked to pay before our departure. Without seeing insurance assurance or really know what amount we were accountable for. Ok, I am still trusting and paying. The office did not appear to be really clean and that bothered me, so I mentioned fingerprints on the lamp and how they were handling tools to be placed in my mouth. They assured me they were clean, and they used some disinfected, that made things not sparkle. (I will skip ahead and tell you my new dentist was cleaning the whole time I was there) Now for the "getter of the story". The dentist said that I was needing a new crown for my back tooth. I never had problems with it, but she insisted that I was sure to need in the future. I asked the cost, and she told me my insurance would cover, $1650. I didn't think so but both she and the office member had agreed that the insurance had preapproved the service. OK, well there was pressure and like a dumb (you can fill out in the word) I went ahead. I called UHC the minute I got home. No preapproval, not enough benefits and she forwarded me to the website to verify But wait there is more. She was right I did not have benefits so I was told the Dr could hold me accountable. (seeing smoke yet?) In addition, there were numerous payments for both my husband and me that we had paid, and the insurance had also paid. (Are you thinking what I am thinking?) While I am going through all of this, I find they are replacing a tooth of his and looking at his Tonge for cancer. (usually free but at this office $50 charge not covered by insurance) Care is questionable. I never felt comfortable or felt that I am receiving caring service. Often times I didn't even know the tech's name. I go to the end the office manager would no longer speak with me because she said I was going to put her in jail??? I called UHC and reported fraud, at this point there is no mention of refund. I contacted my credit card company reported fraud and then forwarded a certified letter, to the Dentist personally. Finally, I got our $1000+ back and found a new dentist, Dr Brown on Shadeland. If you would like to see my review there, I will be posting soon.

I asked him to show where that was on the X-ray and he pointed to the photo they had taken of the tooth. I'm not sure how visually looking at a tooth shows that there is a cavity so severe it would need a crown. I didn't see anything on the X-ray. He also said he would redo the filling on the tooth next to my implant because it wasn't touching the implant. It does allow food to be trapped, however, I would much rather deal with the food than risk drilling into an otherwise perfectly fine tooth. I just had 3 fillings redone 1 year ago at the recommendation of another dentist now 1 year later, literally every filling in my mouth needs replaced according to this dentist? He then marked my paperwork that I need to give to my Reserve unit as a Class 3 which is non-deployable. I was like you need to change this, none of this is severe enough to keep me from deploying. And the receptionist said well we can't lie... as though she would be arrested for saying I was a Class 2 instead of a Class 3 which is all subjective anyway. Now I have to go to another dentist that I really only stopped going to because of location and pay $50 out of pocket to have him evaluate and fill out the paper for my Reserve unit. Plus, Simply Dental charged me $20 to email the xrays to another dentist. I didn't even get work done there and now I'm out $70. The other dentist I went to said I had 2 fillings that were just starting to break down. But Simply Dental said I had such a severe issue I was going to get a crown. Dentists don't make money from cleanings.
