We just moved into the house we designed with Damon and his team at Falconnier Design, and could not be happier with the final product, and the entire work process. Damon and his team were with us from beginning to end, providing whatever support was necessary at the time. The initial design stage was the most critical, and due to the time and effort put in at that point there was minimal work to do later. Since we were living in Texas and building in Tennessee, our face to face time was limited, but extremely well utilized. We had two phone consultations and two in person meetings, with email follow up in between. The final design was in the words of our builder, "the most complete set of drawings he had ever had to work with". There were four minor questions during framing that were handled directly between Damon and the builder, with no involvement required by us. During the process and after our recent move in, every visitor and contractor has commented on how much they like the design and layout of the house. I have known Damon for over 10 years and when we needed plans to add a large screened porch, he was the first architect I thought of because I knew I could trust him. That's very important. Damon met with our entire family around our kitchen table one evening and asked my wife, two of our children ( a third is away at college) and me what we wanted in the design. He listened and asked questions to help us make initial design decisions. He took my wife and I to two finished projects so we could see various options. The project involved determining the best way to tie the replacement back porch in to the roof line and make it aesthetically pleasing. We got too options in our initial design that showed great thought on the options. Damon did a great job of explaining the options and the limitations of the different options. The initial deliverable was a complete set with four options since we couldn't make a firm decision. From these, he created a single conceptual drawing of our final decision. For the second step, we received six prints of the full stamped construction drawings and he recommended a qualified builder we are evaluating.
