Great experience. A few weeks ago we used all American for a float trip. They made us wait over 3 hours in the parking lot before we got bussed down (even with a reservation). When we finally get to the water, they had 0 of the rafts we reserved on the trailer and refused to bring more. Ended up having to pull 2 out of the woods we found and another company gave us an extra they had with a hole in the bottom. Falcon floats got us on the bus in less than 5 minutes. If I could give this place 0 stars I definitely would. We started out by showing up to check in and EVERY single person who worked here was rude and did not care about anyone but themselves. P.s when taking children they do not supply child life vests they tell you it's all one size fits all (that's safe for my 3 year old). The float itself wasn't too bad but make sure you don't land on anyone's property because they didn't tell us anything Off the shore is private property and they will have you arrested according to one of the owners. Towards the end they tell you to make a sharp turn off to dock, little did we know that meant wading through mud that was thigh deep trying to get back with my two children. Coming from FL to OK, I've always told my husband of all the springs we had and how fun it is to take float trips. In an effort to squeeze in another summer camping trip- we packed up and headed to Tahlequah to do just that on the Illinois River. We initially went to another company along the River, but were referred over to Falcon Floats to accommodate our needs. The River was a bit low and the first company was only renting rafts and kayaks...no tubes. Falcon had nice tubes with screen like bottoms to keep you partially in the water, but elevated enough to avoid injuring yourself on rocks and other things in the water. We were offered a dry box and waterproof cell phone case at no additional cost as well as heavy plastic bags for our shoes and clothing. A quick signature on a wavier, a little info about our options for exiting the River when we were done and we were on our way! We were dropped right at the waters edge and provided a reminder to call them when we were ready for pickup after our float. We took the 4 mile and took a leisurely stroll down stream from about 3.5hrs. Once done, we were helped out of the water and within moments of calling, we were picked up and dropped right at our vehicle!! We didn't have to fuss with going back to the office to return our tubes- everything stayed at the landing and was gathered by Falcon later. We were thanked several times for our business and asked how we enjoyed our trip. Anyone we encountered at Falcon were nothing but friendly!! I would 100% take another float trip and without hesitation would rent from Falcon Floats. We encountered ZERO issues and have no complaints about choosing them! I do recommend wearing some form of water shoe or Crocs and clipping them to your float for your exit. The rocks look nice and smooth, but are nature's equivalent to legos!! So many kind ppl offered me their as I struggled to walk out of the water before surrendering and just putting my own non water shoes on to get out! I'd hoped to avoid doing so out of concern I'd ruin them! read more

Falcon Floats is a decent place to enjoy the Illinois River. Since there aren't any reviews relating to the river itself, allow me to give a brief overview. The Illinois River is a very mild river that lends itself well for a relaxing *float* down the river. Don't expect whitewater rapids; you wil be disappointed. It is a nice river to enjoy the scenery and to drink vast amounts of alcohol. Two types of people go this river: those hoping to experience the outdoors in the peak of summer and college-aged kids looking to get completely obliterated. Perhaps unexpectedly, these two groups tend to get along just fine on the river (though perhaps not as well at camp). Ok, now on to Falcon Floats itself. It, just like every other place on the river, rents canoes, rafts, and kayaks and shuttles you upstream to the dropoff point, then you float back down the river to Falcon Floats . There is a 6 mile and a 12 mile path of the river. When the river is low, 12 miles may be an all day event. If it's your first time, I would encourage you to take the 6 mile. Falcon's equipment is decent, though some camps (Sparrowhawk) appear to have newer rafts. For the 12 mile trip it costs about $20 per person in a canoe. 3.2 beer is allowed on the river, just no glass or styrofoam. Bring lots of drinking water. I camped in the Echota Public Access area immediately adjacent to Falcon Floats. The price is the same to camp (about $15 a night per car in addition to the canoe rental), but the public access has way more shade. The game warden is responsible for coming by to accept your payment, but if he doesn't, then you get to stay for free. If you pay Falcon $5, you can use their showers, bathrooms, and pool if you aren't camping there. The swimming pool is TINY and was always packed full of kids when I was there. Falcon offers a concert on the weekends for an additional fee. I didn't pay the money, as you can hear it throughout the campsite for free. I wasn't impressed; a lot of high school aged people from the area flood the camp just to see the concert. Overall, I would go back to Falcon Floats but would still camp in the public access area next door. Let me point out that the map that Yelp shows is wrong. Follow US-10 west of Tahlequah and make a left turn right before the big bridge (still following US-10). read more

Do not stay at this place. The new ownership is TERRIBLE!! We have had family reunions here for over ten years. The property is in a downward spiral the past two years. We rented the 4 cabins by Diamondhead and most of the electrical outlets did not work. The showers smelled like rotten eggs, we had to cover up the shower drains to help hide the smell. We noticed the sewage line was busted behind two of the 4 cabins and created a dirty pool of sewage. When we tried to discuss this with new owners, they did care to listen. We should have known something was array when the new owners asked for a $75 cash deposit. They made up excuses and (would not give us a receipt) kept the deposit. Not good business practice at all. read more

DO NOT USE FALCON FLOATS. I renting a double kayak and a single kayak today for an 8 mile trip. I am a single mom with two children-- one is 8 the other is 15. My 15 year old was in the single kayak--we are experienced kayakers and she has been on many of float trips before. We started out trip this morning at 10. We got on the river and wasn't but maybe a mile down and her kayak kept taking on water. We couldn't figure out what the problem was. After we stopped many of times to dump the water out of the raft I seen that the plug was missing and I stood it up to drain the water out and seen there was a quarter size hole in the bottom. I called and spoke with them and they told me I had to bring the kayak back. Well hell I am not about to put my daughter back in a kayak with a hole.. so I left it. Not my problem. Thank goodness we were with someone in a raft to giver her a ride back. We made it to sparrow hawk and Falcon floats was there waiting for us. They did give us another kayak but that was 2 miles away from getting off. The workers told us that the "old man" who owns the place knows about all the faulty equipment and doesn't really care to fix it. Then he said well he did buy new kayaks to take the crappy one out of rotation but he hadn't got around to it. So cool. We continued down the river and seen the sign where we were to exit but the sign was down the river from where we needed to be so of course me missed it. At this point I am extremely aggravated. We had to go to All American and get off. The bus came to get us and I got my stuff and went inside to talk to the boss. I walked in and said hey this is Misty and I spoke with you on the phone regarding my kayak that has a hole in it. He told me to talk to the guy behind me. So I turned around and said I thought it was crap that they put people on the river with faulty equipment and unsafe life vests. He just continued to eat his peanuts and could care less about the safety of anybody that gets on that river. He wouldn't refund my money for the faulty kayak because I got to float didn't I. That is what his response was. He offered me a gift card and I said why would I take a gift card from your place of business? So I could come and spend more money here...? I said absolutely not. I refuse to do business with someone who doesn't care about the safety of my family or anybody else's that matters. So I have contacted the GRDA and I will make sure my voice is heard. By the looks of all these reviews that I am just now seeing that I am not the only one who has had problems. Something needs to happen because someone is going to get hurt or loose their life. read more

Terrible business... unscrupulous business practices.. My family rented 2 canoes from this establishment. I was appalled by the owners lack of business ethics or just acting like a decent human. My husband called and spoke to him because his business rented us canoes that leaked and sank multiple times as well as flipped due to lack of integrity of the canoe. One of the guys that put our canoe in said he thought we would be ok, that they were trying to separate the bad canoes and if we had issues to call which we did, I would recommend no one to use this establishment. The owner took advantage of my husband who is a disabled vet. The owner screamed at him when he called to ask if they could pick us us up because I had sprained my hand and foot during the multiple times we sank and or turned over and my 65 year old mother in law was injured during the multiple times the canoe sank. We lost most of our belongings but what stands out most is the lack of respect or care for customers. They sent no one, We loved the river but will never use this establishment again. Its a real shame that we were supporting this local business during the pandemic and were treated with complete disregard. read more

This place is not organized and was a big cluster. I had made reservations a week prior to my float trip. Gave my credit card to be charged over the phone to hold my canoe which apparently was never charged. When we arrived there were about 40 people standing inside trying to check-in. After just standing around we were informed that all reservations were cancelled as of 10am. We arrived about 10:30. There were two employees just standing around not helping anyone. The owner finally arrived and basically said he only had x number of rafts left. He did not go off of reservations and many people were moved to canoes. Thankfully we were able to pay and go outside waiting for the bus. We finally got on the water a little after noon. We enjoyed our float and the equipment was fine. read more

Falcon floats is "THE" place to "AVOID"! Poor canoes, horrible customer service and there are just more beautiful places on the river. My story was we had a sinking canoe, numerous holes in it. When we arrived back after dark they accused us of purposely staying late. We we were simply late because we had to bail our canoe numerous times to continue the float. They had the nerve to call the police because we did not agree to pay the "late fee". Horrible experience! read more

Basically, the only thing right this company did was rent my boyfriend and I a kayak for a reasonable price. My kayak had a big gash in it. It also didn't have a plug. Therefore, we had to stop several times to drain it. Anytime the boat was close to tipping, it would go over because it was full of water. In addition, they didn't warn us about the logs and other clearly hazardous obstacles in the water. When we got back, we told them about the issues. But no one cared because by 5pm, they had 16-year-olds running the place. One of the kids said, "oh, I'm sorry about that." They didn't check their equipment, our lives were at risk, and no one cared. We won't be back. read more

We stayed in the Bunkhouse which was nicer than it appeared on the website. There were several large spiders though. The security guard on the first night we were there was annoying. He kept assuming we were upset with noise because we had children in our group and our neighbors were college aged. He seemed bored and seemed to want to start drama. Thank goodness we made reservations for kayaks because they were sold out in less than 30 minutes. The front office was completely unorganized during check in for the float. We signed up to float around 9:30 and did not get on the river until 11:30 due to their lack of organization. Their equipment was old and all of our kayaks had something broken on it making for a less than comfortable experience. Due to the spring storms they had to create a new beach at the end of our trip. It was dangerous to say the least. It was like quick sand only you were in gravel and mud. Most of our group had to crawl out at least 5 feet to avoid sinking to our knees. The worker helping us get out had already lost nine shoes that day. The second day we floated we were smart and used the first 5 feet as it was packed more. Also they do not have any signs pointing to where you beach. One of our group members went past it. The employees that worked the buses and helped us depart and arrive were extremely nice and worked hard. read more

This place was a terrible, unorganized experience. Employees & owner are extremely rude- save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. We arrived at 9am to set-up our tents and be ready to catch the 10:00 am bus for the 12-mile float. After getting to the bus pick-up at 9:55, we waited around for an hour until our bus finally came around. Float itself was going smoothly until the very end. It was about an hour until sun-down when we made it to Sparrow Hawk and we decided to call the owner to see how far we had to go. He barked directions to the drop point at us and told us to keep going. After having to carry our raft over fallen trees and encountering a water moccasin, we decided to stop and call again. He then told us, "we're not going to come look for you so if you want to make it back you'll have to figure it out." Thankfully, a local called back for us and gave the owner directions to come pick us up from her house. They finally came to pick us up and then snipped, "by the way you owe us $100." I told them I wasn't going to pay that because 1) you put us on the river an hour late and 2) we called well before sun-down and you were zero help. The owner, James, told me we could either vacate the premises or pay the $100. So I told him we would just leave. This is were it gets really fun- he then refused to return my car keys (had to turn them over to get a parking pass) and told me he was calling the deputy to have us arrested for drunk & disorderly conduct. Deputies were called and after determining we were neither drunk nor disorderly, the deputy handed our keys over and allowed us to gather our things to leave. 1 star because the river itself is beautiful. read more

This was a terrible kayaking experience! The driver dropped us off without lifejackets. I'm pretty sure that was illegal. We didn't realize this until after he'd left. Two of the three kayaks we rented were full of holes. My son and husband had to stop every fourth to half mile and drain the water out of their swamped kayaks. We had to stop and drain the kayaks because they became unmanageable, we couldn't steer them and any movement would cause them to tip over. We did the 8 mile trip, and over 5 hours later we limped into their muddy swamp of a landing totally exhausted and frustrated beyond belief. What should have been a relaxing day on the river became a nightmare experience that we just tried to survive. When we finally got back we confronted the owner with the facts about the condition of his equipment that he rented to us and all he did was make excuses. One of the kayaks had at least a half dozen patches on the bottom of it I informed him, we knew because we'd seen them repeatedly while draining it. And he said well they had tried to fix them. He offered us a free kayak trip. This is like poisoning someone and offering them some more of what poisoned them, but for free. We declined and told him we would never be back. Our money should have been returned, we'll never get that day back. Avoid this place!!! read more

If I could rate them a "0" star I would. I have been floating the river for at least 25 years and this was the worst customer service I've seen. I called the day before to reserve an 8 person raft. I gave them all my information including my phone number. When I arrived I was advised they only had one 8-person raft and it was already in use. Instead of an apology they asked me what I wanted to do. Again, no apology, no options offered, no offer to discount me for their error and their inability to contact me ahead of time. Since my party was all there we decided to go ahead and select 2 rafts for our party. We were charged more than what their website lists. We were told they were new owners and could not access the website so the published price was incorrect. After waiting almost an hour in the very hot sun for a bus to take us to the drop off point we were finally loaded up and dropped off. The driver was exceptionally rude and advised us to pay attention to what he was saying so we would not feel stupid when we missed the pick up point. He advised we would see the take out spot for Sparrow Hawk camp then a little farther we would see a Falcon Floats banner and when we saw the second Falcon Floats banner we needed needed to go to the right to our destination. Needless to say no one in our party saw banner #1 nor did two other rafts that we met later. At the banner we did see we decided to go right and check. It took us up a disgusting, snake infested canal with no further banners. When we saw the canal narrow to a point where it looked like our raft would not fit, we turned around and went back to the main part of the river. Several other rafts had done the same thing. After about another 2 miles on the river we were so exhausted we pulled off at the clearly marked All American Raft Trip landing and left our raft. Others renting from Falcon Floats were ahead of us and had called them. The nice worker from All American said it happens all the time. Instead of making us wait for Falcon to load up all the rafts, he went ahead and ran us in his van back to our destination. I was pretty aggravated at this point and went to talk to the woman in the office who was completely rude and unapologetic. All she said was that she'd have her grandson check to make sure both banners were in place. All I really wanted was her to acknowledge my frustration and apologize. That would have gone a long way to making a negative into a positive but I received nothing. There are 20 other outfitters in the area and I'm confident most provide better service. My advice...never use Falcon Floats! read more

Our first time on the river was with the previous leasee and we were disappointed, We came back again this year and were blown away! I spoke with the original owner during our visit. They have recently taken over the company again and are renovating after the recent flood. Their staff was courteous and polite. They helped us load all of our stuff, and waited for us when we weren't ready. We stayed in the bunkhouse that had just been remodeled. We had an awesome weekend and loved the pool! I'll be honest, i have never dealt with more horrible employees than i have here. We had reserved 3 rafts a day prior to coming down, when we got there they said that reservations stopped at 10AM, on the phone they had told us they stopped at 2PM! They then proceeded to be extremely rude to us at the front desk, then what looked like a manager (fat guy who was dripping with sweat) came in the front door, rudely asked us to move out of the way to get to the front desk and then decided to tell us to leave because he didn't want our business.....this place is a complete joke, owned by a bunch of rednecks who will be working the river the rest of their lives. read more

Me and my friends went floating here for the first time. We waiting in the bus for over 15 minutes while wasps few in and out of it. The driver took us to the wrong drop off point at first. He ended up taking us to the right place after that. I could've been okay with that but then our raft had a hole in it. We spend the entire time trying to keep our raft afloat. The place where u have to dock looks snakey as we'll and is difficult to paddle into. My friend had went up to the office afterwards and he was about to give us our money back then I came in and explained to him what had happened in order to validate my friends story. He said thanks to me all we were getting was a gift certificate. He said I was rude ( which I wasn't). I went back there and apologized for being "rude" because I didn't want to float there again I just wanted my money back. He got a copy if the contract and said he didn't have to give us a refund and falsely accused me of calling his bus driver a liar. He the.
