The waitress returns with the "new" plate and there is a buzzing sound coming from the plate- a fly which she, my guest and myself all honed in on. I let her make it right and bring another plate for the tacos, as she would bring me new refried beans. The shrimp/crawfish were stale on the tacos... Immediately upon walking in, I loved all of the colors and the vibes of this Mexican restaurant. When you sit down, they bring chips and salsa to your table. The salsa was really thin, and I prefer a chunky salsa with a salted thick chip lol. I was feeling adventurous and got the French toast on the brunch menu. It was delicious! The berry compote and the two different syrups paired really well with it. The bacon that it came with was perfection. I ate every last bite. Since we were apparently dining against the clock, I finally gave up arguing and said I'd try another one without salt on the rim. Plot twist: still tasted like a salt block. The chips and salsa weren't bad but nothing to note either, so there's that. The portobello mushroom taco, however, left a LOT to be desired. The cheese was scorched onto the tortilla, and the mushrooms were seared into crunchy little bits. I genuinely did not know mushrooms could achieve that level of crunch until today. Someone in our party ordered the Pollo de Mar dinner, which was overpriced and, unfortunately, just as disappointing. Between the unnecessary time limit, the waiter arguing with me over a drink I clearly didn't like, the salt-lick margaritas, scorched tacos, and overpriced food, this was definitely not the experience we were expecting. The to-go margarita cup was probably the highlight. Unfortunately, I didn't want to take the margarita anywhere and threw it away.
