He explained that the original cellular shades could not be retro-fitted to be motorized, so we would have to buy new sets. No problem - and totally understandable! Rommel was very patient and thorough with his explanation of why and working with us to understand our project. We ended up purchasing four sets of shades for our primary bedroom to cover two large windows with a two-layer, motorized system of black-out and light-filtering cellular shades. Rommel's installation team (Rene and Martin) were amazing - super fast, diligent, and competent! They also moved the original set of cellular shades we had to our living room, which meant we didn't lose them after all! They also updated the cord pulls for the original set, which we appreciated. The motorized shades have been such a wonderful addition to our master bedroom! We love the total darkness it provides for sleeping in -- and the automatic scheduler to lower / raise the shades as well has proven very convenient. We are VERY pleased with this upgrade. Overall, JMK Shutters offers a comprehensive, customer-first experience. Their team is knowledgeable, competent, and on-time. Gary installed my window coverings…read more Unfortunately when I had to request a warranty repair, it was a complete s--- show. I think I averaged 4 attempts/follow ups spread across 1 month to contact Gary to every single response I received, half of which were just restating my problem and not actually addressing it. Also it took 4 visits (which meant over 20 attempts to get in touch) and over 1 year to actually get him to come to visit to do any warranty repairs, and when he finally did come, he was unable to deliver part of the warranty repairs that I reminded him about at each attempt to contact him. All he offered was "I'm sorry but I'm retiring soon." So sure, go ahead with Gary if you want blinds installed. Be prepared to wait, and wait ... And wait , then wait some more if you need any service on his installations.

It seems like you will have a positive experience with McWherter Window Coverings if all of the…read morefollowing criteria are met: 1) you reach Gary, the owner, on the first attempt at calling, 2) you are fine with months delay in receiving your blinds, and 3) there is no problem with your order whatsoever. When we met Gary a year ago to order an initial set of Hunter-Douglas blinds, he was great. He came out, did measurements, provided samples, and we placed an order. The problem came when one of the blinds arrived after our initial order. After he installed all the blinds from our initial order, he did not want to come out again to install the last one. I called him a few times without receiving a response. Finally, he E-mailed me a YouTube video for self-installation. I paid for full installation and it seemed like Gary did not want to come out to install just one extra blind. A year later, this year, we decided to order a few more blinds and wanted to give Gary another chance. The communication took multiple back-and-forth, mostly me having to follow up over E-mail or phone every couple of days to make sure that he was actually doing his job. Finally, after installation, I noticed two of the blinds had a 1" gap next to the window. I explained to Gary that these two blinds did not cover the windows completely. He agreed to not charge me for those two blinds, which I appreciated, but wished he had communicated the right sizes to me in the first place. After all that, we noticed more blinds retract and do not cover the window in its entirety on the bottom. Gary reassured me that his son, Tyler, can look at it. Tyler came out and had no idea this was a problem. He attempted to address the problem by calling Hunter-Douglas. Hunter-Douglas told him he needs to order weights for the blinds, which he said he would. However, after two weeks, I still have not heard anything. I E-mailed Gary. Did not get a response. I E-mailed Gary again. Got the response "I'll let you know." I was not confident that he will let me know without me having to constantly police him about the order. *Two months* later, he returned to my home with the weights that he supposedly ordered, and it turned out they were the wrong weights! Then of course he gave me the "I'll call you Monday to follow-up" and never did. I have spent thousands of dollars on new blinds from McWherter Window Coverings and they are defective without any resolution so far. I have had surgeries that were faster and easier than this. 1 star off: slow as molasses 1 star off: poor craftsmanship 1 star off: lack of communication 1 star off: lack of adequate follow-up Please read some of the filtered reviews for McWherter Window Coverings, which also mention similar problems above.

Steven is super professional and friendly. I did some research beforehand and sort of know what I was looking for. Steven had an excellent catalogue for me to browse. I was able to find what I was looking for and interestingly was able to match the color (even a bit on the texture) between two types of blinds that I signed up with. As with all other business, the supply chain has been impacted by COVID. But blinds arrived within reasonable timeframe as originally discussed (i.e. within a week). Steven reached out when window treatments arrived and came in installed them without a glitch. One of the blinds I used often (mostly around breakfast time) and was in need of repair, Steven was very responsible and came in dealt with the issue very quickly. This is a trustworthy company, providing quality products while keeping you in budget. You can do your research. I am happy that I made the right choice for me.

Jolynn Rodriquez came to the house, and managed to climb up the 40 steps from the sidewalk carrying several books of samples. We picked a couple of fabrics. She took measurements and gave me a reasonable price, estimating delivery in about 6 weeks. In 7 weeks she called and we made an appointment for the installation. Spencer did the installing in just about one hour. The drapes did not meet at the bottom hems. I called Jolynn, and she came up that day. She climbed on my ladder, did some adjustments at the top, and fixed the problem. I am very impressed with the wide range of fabrics she had to pick from, her reasonable pricing, her delightful installer, and her ability to fix the problem. I recommend her highly!

Unfortunately the local guy could only offer drapes with pinch pleats and fabric that looked like something from the 1960's. After 3 months of delays, I decided to switch companies. So I called Stoneside. Rebecca, the designer, came the following week and listened to my needs. She offered me exactly what I had envisioned, and it cost less than the previous estimate. What a pro!!! She placed the order, and about 6 weeks later Justin and Rafiel installed a new track and the floor to ceiling draperies. The guys were super-careful not to leave a mess or soil the draperies. They did a great job of installation! The next day after installation, I noticed that one of the panels had darker fabric halfway up. I called Justin and texted a picture of the flaw. He agreed that it looked bad, so he reported it to Stoneside. Soon after that Stoneside agreed there was a flaw in the panel and agreed to replace the draperies. Today Rafiel expertly replaced the entire set of draperies! These are exactly as I dreamed them with Rebecca! I couldn't be happier!!!
