However, I recently went to a two day concert called the smoke show. The two day venue had various artists which were fun and entertaining to watch with a great sound system! The problem is the venue itself! No coolers are allowed and nothing to drink whatsoever is allowed. No sunscreen is allowed and any other items are not allowed to be brought in. However, each beer, which is a tall boy, is $20. And if you wanna bring water in, you can't so you have to buy their water, which is also stupidly expensive! Some shade was provided, but not much. Now mind you, this is in the middle of August, which is Albuquerque's hottest month of the year. Just waiting in line to get into the venue, there were two people being attended to by the medics For what would appeared to be heat stroke or heat exhaustion. They are setting themselves up for liability with so limited resources or attendees being allowed to bring in at the very least water! Bottom line, this place makes you feel like you're getting raped because everything is a cash grab!

There was a family reunion going on as I was hitting. Some could view it as a distraction but it's manageable.

I drive up Lomas past the Garden Center all the time but I only recently read the sign and decided to look up what it was. Behind all the trees, there is a little Albuquerque gem. I looked up their website and read all about a plant sale they had going on. I got two cute little plants and was excited to see the space. The actual gardens were closed when I went but I want to go back to check them out. I would also definitely go back for another plant sale, the prices were great and they had some fun stuff to choose from. One note, the parking is terrible when they are super busy. I doubt that they are super busy too often, probably only for events and such but when it is, getting in and out is a huge pain.

There are some rules like no bubbles or confetti, but they are all outlined in contract. We had employees there to supervise and help out. Because it was early April and the gardens don't open till mid April we couldn't have the ceremony in the gardens. It turned out to be less expensive. But when it came time for taking pictures, the staff let us and some of our guests take photos in the garden. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. They made for a beautiful backdrop for our photos. Although it was not open on the weekends, there is a garden shop that sells fun garden themed items. There is a small courtyard in the front which also makes for good pictures. What's interesting is that the building itself doesn't look that special as I would drive past it every day and wouldn't have known about it if wasn't for the sign. It's a great hidden gem in the middle of Albuquerque and was a very nice venue to have a wedding.

Let's start with the short, round, rude af woman who is in charge of things. Nasty attitude, doesn't attempt to dress a teeny bit nicely during your event. I get that it's not the fanciest of places, and if you're using this party hall for a quinceanera or any event where your guests might dress up a little more than normal, don't expect the staff to attempt to look the part. Saggy jeans or cut-off shorts and old t-shirts is what you'll get. Shitty attitude is included for free. The way alcohol is served was interesting. I'm not sure if it's state law, but you have to show an ID, they serve your first drink and then you have to wait 20 minutes until you can get another. I don't have a problem with that but they treat you like an idiot if you don't already know that. My honest advice is that you should look elsewhere if you need a party hall for cheap. You will regret dealing with these people. The few bucks you might save is not worth the headaches and stress they will put you through. The in house dj sucks. He only plays what he wants. Requests go unplayed. The adage "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. And lastly, can they at least put away the 5 gallon flavored pickle jars when the celebration is a wedding or a quinceanera? Tacky af.

Don't assume just because it makes perfect sense to you, that the other 99% of us dense folks will know exactly what you meant. And, no, this business has absolutely nothing to do with fowl of any kind that I can discern. It is actually a great Co-Working Space. I stopped in to Free Range for an event that was happening there. While I was there, I asked to have a tour of the space. They were surprised, but very accommodating. I was surprised at how large a space it is and how many different options to work, collaborate and hold meetings of different sizes are available. Private office spaces. Conference rooms and large meeting rooms. Bright and airy spaces. Not cramped / swished together spaces that I have seen in some co-working spaces. If you are looking for an every-now-and-then space, or a more permanent "office" space, check out Free Range. Ask for a tour. They have plenty of parking . . . .and even a 2nd location in Nob Hill, if this location just west of the University doesn't work for you. Why did I only give them four stars? Well, because I haven't actually worked there . . .yet. But, when and if I need a co-working space, this will definitely be my go-to option.
