I saw at least one hole on the back nine which should have had a fence around an area near the quarry with at least a 20 foot drop. Very cool design. The course was in great shape. I probably found this course more challenging than some of the others we'd played---at least based on my score. The course is well kept. Pace of play was good even though there was a group of women on top of us for many of the holes. I think we outran them in the final 2 holes. Easy parking. Close to the airport. They have a great clubhouse for food.

Texas got plenty of rain over the last few weeks which should have made the course pristine. There was overgrowth everywhere and grass cut in unnecessary areas. I literally lost a ball that we all seen down the middle. The first cut of the fringe was higher than you see in the tour, or even the Quarry course (if you're from here). There were actual flowers grown in the traps. Speak the trap, rock hard less than an inch down. They need to shut this course down for six months, and get it together, or either start paying people to play it vise the people wasting their money. I didn't see or play the Loma course today however on the drive out I could see that the #2 green was tore up like the green in my photo. Don't waste your money!

This course is one of the oldest courses in Texas and was the site of the Texas open. It was a cool chilly 60 degrees but it was fun! I used rental clubs and it amazed me how many holes I could play when the ball just rolled on the ground. I lost a ball but I never went into a bunker. YES! The carts have GPS and although I missed my range finder, it was still fun! It took a while but I eventually figured out the clubs and after that it was smooth sailing! I usually hit a draw but driver wanted to do a cut so after I gave up and let it do its thing, everything was great! They give out Callaway golf clubs. They told me the clubs were about 6 months old I played with someone that knew the course and I had fun as he informed me about the course history and Texas in general. 4 hour round and it was just an amazing, fun course. I wish I could have another try but this is a memory I won't forget. On the last hole, I was supposed to take one extra club and when I looked at club I used - uh oh, wrong club and into the water. But I hit it perfectly! I took more club, choked down and hit it to 3 feet. So for the conditions - there is a nice roll on the drives, the greens were aerated but still good. Very windy and it was fun to deal with the wind!!!! This is beautiful golf course with tons of history! Love this course! Thank you Brackenridge golf course!

Once a few of us moved over to practice putting the team here agin stepped up and provided a mass of putters for us to use. They even Ofer classes through the Air Force. Over all the course was in good shape, some of the greens were a little bumpy. But not enough to spoil the round. There is a small driving range and a putting green available for warming up prior to your round. I will definitely play here again.
