Situated off Rochelle Drive, this used to be not just a range, but also an executive golf course, perfect for a quick and enjoyable round of golf. Alas, the course was closed, and the location is reborn as the Wylie Range. The executive course is now in disrepair, overgrown with weeds and bushes....a pity! Behind the diminutive club house is a cricket field, used by certain leagues throughout the season. The very real advantage of this range is its unique (for our area) double decker design, with hitting off mats on the first and second floor. (This two story design is very common in Japan, which I spied on my trip there a few years ago, given the premium on real estate in major cities there.) But the advantage in our city is the respite from the sun during practice. And should the intrepid golfer prefer grass, there is also an area left of the main area for that type of practice. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming, and the facility offers clubs for sale (I am unsure if the pricing is competitive) and offers some club repair. Lessons are offered by the pros at the range, adults and youngsters often seen taking advantage of this feature. One feature of the range is that the terrain drops away from the hitting area, which I find somewhat difficult to determine actual distances I am hitting, despite markers that one can target. But this is perhaps just my particular issue. Balls are of newer Callaway range balls, in contradistinction to some complaints from a couple of years ago, some complaining of old, shoddy balls. Sadly, the short game area is definitely lacking, with bunkers filled with pebbles and overgrown with grass. The chipping grass is marked with weeds, and the larger putting area did not survive the summer heat: dead grass, not even tended today. This is a major disappointment, as years ago, the putting area was large and of different breaks that would allow development of skill with this aspect of the game. But given the shortcomings of the short game area, the double decker range is a blessing for our climate during the summer, and in truth is my "go to" range for that one reason. If you love hitting balls, but do not want to suffer so much with the sun, visit the range on Rochelle. I think you will enjoy the experience!!

Then they put us in front of the sand traps so we had to try and golf around the ball server. So the bigger your group the worse they treat you. Then we ordered $15 for 3 chicken tenders. Asked the guy who served them if he thought these were quality chicken tenders and he said no. But he didn't offer to fix it and just left. What a joke they were very small and thin. We went as a small group in Orlando and treated right. Went to this place in San Antonio and was royally crapped on. Wondering was it because we paid more or because we were at this location in San Antonio. Don't think this place in San Antonio is any good try a different place.

The resorts too highly of their course and doesn't really put in an effort to maintain the course. Today the greens were fast probably about 12 on the Stimp. The brutally long par 5 first hole has been modified into a little fairer but still tough test. Juan is the friendly and classy guy in the pro shop. He manages to make us feel like family every time we visit. Jerry and Tom the starter/ranger duo are exceedingly friendly and helpful. JR does a great job of cleaning and handling your sticks after a round. He is a college golfer at UTSA and adds some professional courtesy to your experience here. Overall, this golf course has matured nicely and things are looking up with the new GM and head golf pro.

I booked my tee time for 2 @ 11:00 AM 3 weeks in advance. It was confirmed the same day, I…read morerescheduled to an earlier time available @ 9:20 because of plans we needed to attend. It was confirmed the same day (the 16th). The tee time was confirmed, saying 9:20 explicitly. When we arrived to pay ($220 including tax), we were told our tee time was 9:30?? I wasn't informed of this and there apparently wasn't a delay for the day. There was a 4-some let on in front of us, when we asked the Marshall, he said he had a 4-some @ 9:20. I showed him the confirmation email and he said "weird, I don't know why they put you at 9:30". For $200, I would expect to be treated with professionalism, especially if I have somewhere I need to be. Why would you offer a tee time on the sheet if you are going to put another 4-some in our place? I bit my tongue and we played with another 2-some. All fine and dandy except waiting on the 4-some in front of us every hole. We played in 4:45 minutes, waiting on every hole! They had a Marshall going around but his job was to be friendly to everyone rather than to keep them on pace. The pro shop staff was nice other than changing our tee time without informing us. You can have a much better experience at places like Canyon Creek, The Quarry and even TPC San Antonio if you're willing to cough up the cash. If you're willing to pay $220 for 3 star service, just splurge and give yourself an unforgettable experience at the Marriott with rounds at a PGA course. Additionally, the range here was very subpar and the food/drinks were incredibly expensive. The layout was fun and I'm glad I got to experience it once, never again though! What a terrible experience!

The holes are fun, some challenging and the layout pretty awesome. A huge win is the massive amount of misting fans placed at every hole. Huge outdoor screens and an pretty eclectic array of music to please everyone. They also have QR codes at every hole to order drinks and keep the people golfing moving around. One thing i would like to see added is a question about what color shirt or item someone is wearing, because by the time the drinks have come out, you are passed said hole and it becomes a bit of a free for all. overall a great time, and fun experience.

We had a really fun time at Chicken N Pickle! The atmosphere was great and there was so much to do…read more They offer both indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, and everything was reasonably priced. I also loved how much outdoor seating they had throughout the place along with TVs everywhere outside so you can still catch the game while hanging out. Besides pickleball, they had cornhole, ping pong, Jenga, Battleship, and other games which made it a fun spot for all ages. They also have a restaurant and bar with lots of food and drink options. The only downside was my daughter's meal and drink. She ordered a bowl that wasn't what she expected, and her drink had Tajín around the rim which made it taste too salty for her liking. The wings were really good though. What stood out most was how the waiter and manager handled it. They were very accommodating, removed the food from the bill, and replaced her drink without any issues. Overall, we had a really good experience and would give it another try.
