It is unfortunate that I have to share my negative experience with Fairprice Movers in Lancaster on a public forum, and that I could not speak to the owner directly. I reached out to this company through Yelp to request a moving quote on 9/16. I called the company a couple of days later, and a woman (I did not get her name) with an accent answered the phone. I have hired packers and movers in the past, so this is not my first rodeo. I asked the woman for pricing and information, and she started spewing information quickly, without taking a breath, again, with an accent. I did not want to interrupt her, so I allowed her to finish. When she paused, I asked her if she could please repeat the information for me. The woman became frustrated with my request and stated something to the effect of "I'm going to repeat it one more time. Again, . . ." in a condescending tone. I immediately hung up. When given a choice, I only choose to do business with companies that employ people that exhibit RESTRAINT, great customer service skills, and respect. I will NOT pay to be talked down to and verbally abused. My parents are immigrants from another country, so they speak with an accent. My mother and father have never been disrespectful or lost patience with someone who asked them to repeat themselves. This woman needs to CALM DOWN and learn how to be patient, or she needs to slow down when she speaks to customers/potential customers over the phone. There are TOO MANY other moving companies out there for anyone to be subjected to behavior like that. I have four degrees, but what's more troubling is the thought of how this woman may be speaking to someone who is not as educated, elderly, struggling with cognitive delays, and requires information from someone who is capable of being patient. Is this woman hanging up on customers/potential customers when she loses her patience? Every single customer should be treated with respect. This call was my first interaction with the business. Why is this woman the face of the business? So I called the Lancaster location today to speak with a manager or owner to report my concerns, and a woman named Natalie with the same accent answered. When I asked to speak with the owner or a manager, Natalie's response was, "the owner does not pick up the phone, and I am the manager." I then decided to use the Shilling location for my move because this company has great reviews, and I want to have a low-stress move. When I called the second location, Natalie picked up the phone again. When I asked her if she answers the phone for all their locations, she said, "yes, it is all the same company." Overall, I was dissatisfied with my experience with this company and denied the opportunity to report my concerns to the owner because the gatekeeper/manager/disrespectful individual is also the only person that a person can get ahold of at this company. This should never be the case! You have a problematic employee who refuses to allow customers/potential customers to file a complaint when they have an issue. I am surprised that this company does not have more negative reviews. If you are okay with feeling trapped, being talked down to, and mistreated by a company that you are attempting to hire and pay thousands of dollars to for a move, look no further. You have come to the right place. read more
