Good food. Great service. Low Price. It makes you feel that you are in the middle east in the middle of UK.

I chose the Chef's choice and was not disappointed with the generous portions and selections made. There were things I might not have tried otherwise and was glad to have been offered. It's a great way to sample the menu at a great price. The drink menu was also fairly extensive and they had some fun gin pairings. Go, eat heartily, and enjoy.

We had booked a table for 6pm however arrived slightly late due to the bad weather (I believe Hurricane Kate is the culprit!) However, we were sat quickly and when telling our server we had limited time due to our cultural theatre trip it was recommended that we keep away from the signature curries as they take time to cook through. We started with a bottle of prosecco (this is getting predictable now?) and opted to share the bombay bombs and hara chicken parchey to start. The bombay bombs were delicious filled with mashed potatoes and a homemade sauce they were incredibly flavoured! The chicken arrived looked a cool shade of green with a yogurt dip it was also delicious. Next I opted for the burgh tikka makhani masala which was a butter based rich tomato curry with plenty of succulent chicken. With a side of mushroom pilau (one portion is enough for two really!) and a side of tandoori roti I mopped up every last bit of the rich sauce! Competing the meal was the standard cosmo which I ALWAYS get when I go here as it has a nice twist on the original. I must say the lamb railway curry is still my favourite however I am yet to try their signature Korma so watch this space!

After reading some of the reviews below, and liking Indian food as much as I do, I decided to try…read morethem out. Nicely furnished waiting room. Architecturally interesting, and there is a nice flat screen tv and magazines for those who are waiting. When I say that this place is good, what I mean to say is that this place is amazing! Purely amazing food. I ordered the chicken tikka, the lamb korai, and peshwari naan (thanks J.B. for her review!). I agree with J.B., the chicken tikka was especially spicy, but it was cooked perfectly. The chicken pieces were bite-size and tender. The lamb was a little less spicy than the chicken, and it was quite tender and flavorful. The meal came with a pint of rice and a garden salad with ranch dressing. That being said, it is enough to feed two or three for dinner. Quite a generous serving, indeed I have leftovers for tomorrow. Read if you have a swipe-version credit card: Unlike J.B., I did have a problem--a customer service problem that arguably may or may not be their fault. I, being an American, have a Visa card with which I attempted to pay. It's an American Visa card, which means that it is a swipe card--sure, that's pretty standard. But in the UK, the credit cards use a different technology (called chip and pin). This place would not accept my card! Let me say it again, they wouldn't accept my Visa Card, accepted anywhere, right!!!! Wrong, they swiped the card, and then they said that they didn't accept American cards. I felt somewhat intrigued and insulted, especially when I saw an old fashion credit card reading machine behind the counter (the mechanical type, where you have to use carbon paper). I still wanted my food, so I found a cash machine (that was just down the block). Though I'm pretty sure what they did was in error and that Visa Corporation would probably have something to say about it, I advice Americans and Canadians: have CASH handy. (Alternatively, you could give this place trouble for not accepting your card! If enough business is lost over it, maybe they might change this policy!) In any case, the food is very extremely good. The only reason this place lost a star was because of their credit card incompatibility issue. I will definitely order from this place again if I want some tasty Indian food.

The food was to die for, or maybe to at least sacrifice a first born for! Our chicken tikka starter was super spicy and incredibly tasty. The Lamb Korai and Chicken Balti we shared were both unbelievably good. Definitely on the hotter side but that's just fine by me. The peshwari naans were really moist and thick and full of goodness. I do not have a single complaint about the food, and I think that Brighton Grove ranks up with the best Indian resturants in Newcastle full-stop, not just against other takeaways. Definitely can't wait to try them again!!
