They have a good and reasonable-priced selection of tasty pizzas, burgers, and the usual fare, and their chip portions are cheap and plentiful (although not as good as Clayton St Chippy). Usually quite busy on weekends as it's open til very late, you can still usually find a seat or two to munch away your fast-food treat, and it doesn't seem to harbour as many idiots as nearby chip-shops in the vicinity. Also great in the late afternoon if you want a quick snack.

I always get a quarter chicken at Nando's, but this time, after sharing some wonderfully juicy and spicy extra hot wings, I tried something new - the Sunset burger. WHY IS IT SO GOOD? I was honestly shocked at how good it was. It's two boneless chicken thighs with cheddar cheese, red pepper chutney, and spinach on a lovely soft roll. It's juicy and drips a bit when you bite into it, but the flavors are surprisingly amazing given the simple ingredients. I got it with medium spice sauce for extra flavor. I inhaled it, along with the side of chips, and I think I'll order it again next time because it was fab. Also, pro tip - my husband got sides of garlic bread and halloumi, and if you pile the cheese onto the bread and eat them together, you will not regret it.

I would really recommend this place at lunch, although be prepared to wait in a queue. The burritos are impressive and you will definitely be full after one! Some of the positives include: - Great variety - Friendly staff - Cool Decor Some of the negatives include: - Lack of space - Toppings are slightly overpriced and have noticed an increase in skimping on size I love Mexican food so have waited a few times before reviewing so I can make up my mind - I was unsure wether this place seemed amazing due to the lack of Mexican alternatives in Newcastle. However it is definitely worth a visit!

It was a bit of a belated birthday lunch with my mum so we both started with a glass of fizz for £4. The drinks arrived promptly and thank god as I was parched and we order straight away from the set lunch menu - ready to get going on our afternoon shopping. My mum opted for the pate starter which looked tasty and I went for the mushroom fritter which was altogether different but tasty. Given we hadn't ordered anything too fussy it did take some time for both starters and mains to arrive which was tricky. The mains were delicious; chicken risotto which I opted to taste test for my Mum! Served with a whole chicken breast it was great value for money. Whereas I went for the fennel sausage served with roast potatoes and garlic mayo - again a very different choice given it was from the set menu. The sausage was full of flavour and with the nice addition of homemade garlic sauce meant the potatoes weren't to dry. Overall the service was great and the atmosphere relaxed - it did just seem to take that tad too long to get the food as it was a quiet day. Having said that we did have a busy day I can imagine this place being great for a long boozy lunch.

The staff didn't even look at you while taking the necessary drink & food orders and we had a quite a wait for the food to arrive when the place was barely 'busy' Between the 5 of us we had- Cannelloni di coniglio e poro :-Rabbit & leek cannelloni with spinach, mascarpone & wild mushrooms Gnocchi di salami*:-Potato gnocchi, wild boar salami, rocket, red onions & crème fraiche Linguine con polpette:-Pork & beef meatballs, mozzarella, tomato & rosemary Caesar :-Roast chicken, Parma ham, cos lettuce, croutons & parmesan Con rosmarino - Garlic bread with rosemary None of the dishes were exactly hot and none of them blew us away with their presentation or flavour. The 'Ceasar salad' was all lettuce, croutons and dressing The Canelloni was tart tasting The Gnocchi was bland, unseasoned and has the worst excuse for 'salami' The meatballs were lacking seasoning and tasted like they we just cooked in a tin of tomatoes. The only thing which I was pleased with was the Garlic bread. @ £12.50 with a soft drink each I would have expected to have had a nicer lunch. Sadly, with the choice of restaurants competing for your business in Newcastle this place really needs to up its game.
I know it's table service with stunning sea views and it was cosy but would I return - most…read morecertainly not. It was busy and noisy when we arrived but that tapered off. We each ordered two 2 courses (starter/main and main/dessert) so we could share a starter and a dessert. What was the worst of it? Well two main annoyances - plates were not hot not even close. Second the service took for ever especially waiting for our main course. I should add that the flat white coffee was poor enough too. The Fritto Misto starter was a mean portion of lukewarm, cheap fish like calamari and mussels and skinny slices of limp cold vegetables like red pepper - really unappealing. The main of cod and chips was just alright - the cod was neither thick nor generous, but it was fresh and the batter pleasant - and no discernible grease. With all the hype I'd heard of this place it was really disappointing. The portion of chips was mean and as the plates were lukewarm the food didn't stay hot long either. Plates for fish & chips need to be really very hot and there's no excuse for them not to be. The crumble dessert was ok. Not bad but not delicious. The crumble topping and ice cream were darn good. The mushy peas were darn good and the scraps (fried bits of batter) were exquisite - fried unhealthy and almost the best part of an otherwise truly forgettable meal. The staff were friendly and inefficient maybe because of the kitchen but I found no evidence of the great reputation I'd heard about the place. Would I go back - it's two star for the price paid, poor coffee, mean portions, cool plates and slow service - certainly not but it has aspects of good 3 star, just not enough.

My favourite and all I ever seem to order is the Special Fried Rice main with prawns (admittedly from frozen), pork and bits of beef with an awesome gravy. The other dishes are all great too as many a friend and family member has testified. Not too pricy either as they don't seem to have done much to the place in the last 10 years..

There's pizza, chips, rice, chicken nuggets, cooked veggies, apple pie, sponge/cheese cakes, ice cream etc...the list is quite long! The soups are immense as a starter. Today, Chinese pork soup and also chicken and sweet corn soup was available on the menu. I tried both! Hmmm very tasty. I mixed Sriracha sauce into the pork soup to give it some extra kick. There's plenty of condiments on offer. Including sriracha sauce, dot sauce, sweet chilli, mayo and ketchup. There's also hot sauces to pour onto your rice or chicken balls (or whatever you like). There's Chinese gravy, sweet and sour sauce, curry sauce and (I think it was) Cantonese sauce. I filled some of the tiny soup bowls up with the sauces I liked and took them to our table to dip our food into or pour it over our dishes. The staff are very polite and very accommodating but not over-baring. You aren't made to feel rushed in any way. Nor do they watch you whilst you plate your meal up!!! Would definitely recommend. It wasn't too busy today (it was a Wednesday afternoon), so even though there was five or six tables in, the atmosphere wasn't buzzing. There are much nicer places to visit nearby if you're after a vibrate buzz and somewhere more upmarket. Having said that, in my opinion, the prices and the delicious food are just too good to miss! As my friend said below the maki rolls seemed old, the nori and fish were both off. Interestingly, I ordered a salmon hand roll that was super fresh and very good. So, the sushi seems to be a bit of a hit and miss. I would try the sushi again, but if it was the same I probably wouldnt be returning. As for the rest of the meal I came away thinking I had just ordered too much on the rich side. I had a shredded duck with udon noodle dish. It was very good, but the strong, rich flavor of the duck covered the whole dish and you needed something else to balance it out. Overall though a very good dish that I am already craving again. My mistake was also ordering northern pork dumplings which were also slightly greasy and rich, though very good. Overall the ambiance of this place is very nice, like a traditional noodle house, though very busy and slightly loud at times. The service was adequate though not terribly friendly. I will definitely try Nudo again, but will be more selective about my choices.

The happy hour 2 for 1 cocktails after work are certainly appealing too! Las Iguanus offers authentic Southern American food, catering well for vegans and vegetarians, and with the option of tapas style dishes which I personally love as I'm often indecisive and a bit greedy with eyes bigger than my belly. On my latest visit however I went for the vegetable chilli which was lovely....just the right amount of spice and a generous portion although a bit too much rice in my opinion. My friend and I took advantage of happy hour and had a Mango Collins which was simple but delicious and refreshing. The layout of the restaurant seems to work okay but the table we were sat at had a constant thoroughfare of people passing by which was a little frustrating. One lady even walked past so fast that she knocked my drink over....luckily my reflexes were on fire and I saved my beloved alcohol as well as my outfit! The service again was okay but you could tell they were very busy and so not as attentive as other restaurants I've eaten in.
