Saathi's is a very, very good Indian restaurant in the centre of Hexham, serving up excellent curry in a relaxed, informal environment.
The restaurant has a good number of tables, although it does get busy at the weekend so worth reserving just to be safe.
Last time I was there was with a group of six on a Monday evening (yes a school night, please don't judge), and despite being the only party in at the time we were still served with the utmost professionalism.
The food was top notch. Usual poppadoms and chutneys to start, including some spicy poppadoms which were not really that spicy, followed by a range of different curry orders. The kitchen timing was excellent, and all our food came out at once.
I opted for the Chicken Tikka Karai, my portion was of a healthy (read, big) size with lots of chunks of chicken, all cooked to a juicy perfection. Full of flavour, this really was a superb curry. The naans and rice dishes were also excellent, clean plates all around at the end of the meal.
Can highly recommend Saathi's to anyone who likes a curry and finds themselves in Hexham. Also very good on the take-away front too - orders have been available to collect at the time given, so no waiting around with stomach growling at the delicious aromas! read more
