I have found the best shoe store in Paris. I repeat, I have found the best shoe store in Paris!…read moreIt's almost too good to be true, but it's not, since I have the boots on my feet to prove it! Ok, imagine a shop that sells a tight-selection of super stylish, comfortable shoes, from boots and strappy heels to slip on flats and chunky pumps at affordable prices. Already, I've got you hooked right? Now add to that the fact that all of the shoes are made in Paris in an atelier in the 11th. Not only is that impressive, but so outrageously rare. Aside from super exclusive artisans creating custom shoes that cost a month's rent, it's impossible to find locally-made shoes at real-people prices. Now, as if that weren't enough, get ready for the icing on the cake. ALL of the models can be customized for no extra fee at all. So, if you love that pair of peep-toe pumps but want them in emerald green in stead of pink, Taher Mardini can make that happen for you. I took advantage of the sales and bought myself the perfect pair of black boots at 30% off the ticket price. They are amazingly beautiful and super comfortable and cost 1/4 of the price of a pair of designer boots made who knows where in the world. I'm totally eying a pair of ankle books that I plan on ordering in one of the 50 or so different colors that you could choose from. Never owned a pair of red boots and I think that I totally need that experience in my life. Oh, I forgot to mention that they'll also recreate a pair of your favorite beat up shoes for you too! How insane is that?! Thanks to Taher Mardini we can now make all of our shoe fantasies come true!

What an amazing place for inexpensive but great quality knits!…read more I happened upon this shop during the sales in search of a basic cardigan to keep me warm this winter. The sales rack was a bit sparse but I landed on a fabulous cape-like cardigan in army green for 35E (originally 49E). Made of 100% wool, it's totally chic, versatile and warm. When I inquired a bit more about the brand with the very sweet salesperson she told me that the it was affiliated with Benetton and that they had around a dozen or so shops in France and Italy but beyond that that was it. Coming up for Spring she said would be more basics, but in lightweight fabrics including cotton and silk. Definitely putting this place on my go-to list for wardrobe essentials at cool prices.
