Great times and good stuff learned. I wreaked absolute havoc through the entire school, and no teacher was safe. I locked teachers in the faculty bathrooms, brought knives to class and ran the perimeter of the classroom, cutting posters in half, and would clap two chalk-dusters together over teachers' heads in order to mimic dandruff... Couple that along with forging tons of re-admit slips, leaving campus at my leisure in order to go shopping at Ralphs and go to Taco Bell, bringing universal remotes to class in order to turn the TV's on and off at my own leisure, and well... you get the picture... though I did take the time to study & learn... adopting the philosophy I now have: work hard, play harder. Thanks for the good times, Savanna. Rest in peace Mr. Quigley. Honorable mention goes to Thursdays in the quad with the DJ's playing songs that were not made for high school kids, Rebel Show (annual talent show), and the afterschool fights at the AM/PM next door - which is now closed. I hope I don't drive by Savanna in a couple years and bear witness to yet another school that looks like a Federal SuperMax Penitentiary.

If the admin don't help you then escalate it to district and appeal for your child's rights. I don't recommend this school at all. As. Former student there it's now so out of control and poop.

But with the support of his parents and teachers he has seen great improvements and we are very optimistic that he is now in the right path to maintaining academic performance. The teachers have done a great job communicating with us using the ParentSquare app, allowing us almost live access to class content, events, grades and homework. We are very happy to see the efforts to integrate and nurture social interaction and knowledge. This past December we had the opportunity to attend the Winter Concert where my son was part of the Choire. We were so excited and happy to see the event. Thank you Miss Joy Reyes, for your great work!

My son loves his teachers and has a lot of pride in being a panther. Specifically, I'm impressed by the work of the instrumental music teacher, Mrs. Reyes. The amount of growth the program has seen since last year is quite remarkable. Music programs are so important and are a great experience for kids. I'm so glad my son got to have that experience.

As a parent I was excited for my kid and classmates. Just a little disappointed how the front office is not informed of the kids activities. (Young adults) or aware of what's going on. While trying to check in we were told that parents were not allowed, that was a lie. We brought chairs to sit down on the pavement or grass, but the front office told us that we didn't need them because the tournament was gonna take place indoors and that there is plenty of seating. That was another lie. In the end, everything was cleared up. We were welcome, but after putting our lawn chairs away, we had to go get them again in order for us to sit down just a little annoying. Then we saw other parents there as well.....which we were informed we didn't need to check in that they never do. .... That was just annoying. Other than that. Everything was great. The kids had fun and we got to see the Laker girls very excited for our kiddos.

This place also has a lot of supervision from the teenagers that take care of your kids here. The preschool in this place is technically the safest part of the whole school, because of its thick and gated fencing. I had nothing but wonderful memories of this place here. It makes me smile sometimes. This place has an automotive program and a drone program.

My alma-matter (I'm one of the few non-choir kids who actually knows the alma matter.)…read more Graduated this year (2008) and I'm glad I did it just now. I feel so sorry for the other students, since most classes are now going to be around 40 students , and there's been a lot of drama going on in the science department (Oh Ms. Grossman...how we'll miss you). I didn't have the "typical" high school experiance (Going to dances, ASB and so on) ... because this is not a typical high school. School spirit is close to dead, but it's there. Not a lot of students get excited about activities -- unless you're in the clubs, ASB , band/choir or sports. Cliques are not that dominent, there's no "popular" girls or boys, and you can pretty much be friends with anyone . There's no "Ew, you hang out the the emos/jocks etc" which is pretty cool. Well, that's how it used to be. Now it seems that a bunch of petty tagger krews and gangs are starting to make their presance known, which is a bummer. Damn little Dale Jr. High kiddies. Pretty much, my class graduated with a bitter resentment against ASB, and almost everyone is convinced that ASB only cares about itself. Boo on ASB. The teachers are great, though other students might not agree. Mr. Friedrich is the history and American politics/government teacher (Also for AP), but you're in for debates and tirades against liberals, which is really interesting and he is pretty much against politically correctedness, so you can speak your mind in that class and won't get censored. Other great teachers: Mr. Turner, Mrs. Kim, Mr. Gallagher, Miss. Noh, Ms. Johlic, Mr. Mann, Ms. Grossman, Mrs. Jimenez, Miss. Howl, Miss. Johnson. Mr Friedrich. Mr. Kough. Magnolia got some noteriety for a suicide which happened on campus. It was a guy from Cypress and was found hanging from the softball field area, but we all are convinced it was gang related since he was found tied up and gagged. Finally, it seems that Key Club is the most popular club on campus with a cult following. I never joined. Sents of Pride is my homebase , and we brought some liberal though to that school -- even if the campus really didn't care. Haha. At least we were known for hanging t-shirts for a whole week. (Hooray for the Non Violence Week xD)

I was a part of the band program for 4 years and swim/water polo program for 1 1/2 years. The band has a really nice collection of trophies as well as a good history. The band director Mr. Yim was sort of a jerk though and obviously played favorites. The swim coach, Mr. Ake, was very cool and I learned a lot from him. I'm glad that I joined those programs or else I would have been bored and I would not have met as many friends. School spirit seemed very weak overall. It seemed that everyone just wanted to pass their classes and get the hell out of there lol. Cliques existed, but they weren't as obvious as they are on tv shows and movies. Overall, a bad experience in high school, but at least I graduated. I have no idea what the culture of the school is now. Hopefully it has gotten better because this school remains close to my heart.
