A breakfast with a varied menu was available. Though the hotel is in a suburban environment, the center of Bath is a mere ten-minutes' walk away. Also, the hotel claims to offer secure luggage storage for guests and yet I returned to find an unattended lobby and guests' belongings just out in the open for anyone to grab or tamper with. When raising concerns with hotel, verbally and in writing, they offered nothing but slight platitudes and defensive rhetoric. Zero mindfulness of customer service. In short, avoid. Bath has much better to offer.

The suite had two bedrooms, which was nice for a family, but being a Georgian house, there were quirks. The floors were very uneven, to the point that I would feel vertiginous walking around. The bathroom had uneven water pressure where the temperature fluctuated wildly, and there was not enough counter space for 4 people. There was a nice sitting room but definitely not enough closet space. However, the location is so lovely. It's about a block from the Pulteney Bridge and also a block from a full sized Waitrose. It's a short walk to the train station, Bath Abbey, and the Roman Baths. Staff is friendly and generally competent. The front desk staff was a little confused and slow, and, while the rooms were generally clean, I don't advise that guests look under the beds or behind the furniture, as those are very dusty (ick). I love that they leave biscuits to go with tea daily and that they actually replenish everything on a daily basis. Those biscuits were life savers for my jetlagged children whose stomachs were not yet on UK time. I contacted the hotel a couple times before we arrived. They were not able to help with arranging for a babysitter (they told me to Google "Bath" and "babysitter"), but they did give me good information about a wheelchair rental for my husband. I would consider returning here on a future visit.

Despite the freezing temperatures outside the hotel was warm and inviting. Large spacious rooms with full central heating, many with views over the city. Spotlessly clean. Our hosts were friendly and efficient and the breakfast was excellent and included croissants, fresh fruit salad, toast with various spreads available and of course full english cooked breakfast. More expensive than some in the area but otherwise hard to fault. Would happily return if visiting Bath again.

And of course, the rooms are very very small, understandable due to the historical accomodation. We appreciated the welcome, helpful tips, and complimentary bottles of both still and sparking water. The location of the Kennard is excellent - only a 10 minute walk from the city center, but in a very quiet neighborhood. Recommended? Yes, 100%.

We really enjoyed returning to the hotel after dinner and having a pimms in the lounge (which was a first for my wife) while chatting with other guests doing the same. The breakfast was quite nice the next morning. The only negative we found was that on the day we were there was a heat wave and no AC in the room. Our lovely view had to be shaded in the afternoon when the sun was beating through the window. And the bed was small, yet firm, which I've found in England to be the norm. I'd definitely go back. Just next time I'll ask if they have a King bed in any of the rooms, as I'm a big guy.

No TV for a day and non of the heaters actually worked as well. 4. Breakfast: "Included" but what they don't tell you is that your "eggs" are powdered eggs or soaked in vinegar. 5. Room service: Ordered and 30 minutes later got a call they were "out of rice". 6. Internet - Slow and didn't work well. 7. No transportation help - wouldn't even call a taxi when asked On to the good: 1. Location was good. Stay anywhere else. There are 3-4 places similar in quality for 1/2 the price.

The bar was a nice snuggery, but the selection was limited in offerings. Go for convenience & location, and if the weather is good, eat in the courtyard and pet the feral but friendly black cat that roams the hotel.
