Compared to fruit stands in San Jose, pricing for Blenheim apricots are worth it here. I was in the area visiting a friend & gave them a call. They answered promptly and were very informative. This review comes during the time of COVID-19....when I arrived, they had a line set up with "X" markings to ensure social distancing. Also, a stand dispensing hand sanitizer. I purchased a 12 pound box of Blenheim apricots for $26! They look very ripe and plump. Decently sized. Can't wait to eat them! Sadly, I missed the bing cherries for the season. Will have to make note to return here next year. read more

Went by last Saturday and purchased a 9 lb. box with a 2 lb. side of Rainiers. Oh my goodness, I didn't know about the Royal Helens cherries, I thought of only the bings and rainiers. The Royal Helens are ginormous and super sweet! The Rainiers are large and very sweet as well. It is a beautiful setting that's so well maintained. I hope they never close shop, they're just so delicious and very nice. She (not sure of her name) took the time to explain the difference between the Royal Helens and bings. She also took the time to tell me I would get so much more for my buck if I would buy the box instead of the cartons... so I did. :) We've been able to share this large box with family and friends. My Dad loves fruits, but cherries are his ultimate favorite. He waits every year until he gets a postcard from Fairhaven saying the cherries are ready. Then he makes the 1 hour drive down to Hollister to pick up a flat. Whenever I buy him cherries at the farmer's market or store, he compares them to Fairhaven and says they are not as good! The family grows a few different varieties and there are samples in the shop for you to try. The shop itself is simple and they mainly sell cherries, but they also have some dried fruit and walnuts. If you or someone you know is a cherry fan, you should definitely try Fairhaven! read more

Don't get me wrong, but cherry season is officially over at this Orchards. This year we visited just about every week to buy18 lbs Bing & Rainer. Today it was Bing, boy, was a total miss! The price went up too. It was $50/#18 in the past, but now it's $60 and the quality went downhill (sad face). Rainer wasn't good, either ($60/#18) a few weeks ago. They weren't seen this afternoon. We say see you next year. Bing (not Rainer) were incredibly out of this worldly good a few weeks ago, and I finally learned the lives of cherries are short in a hard way (tears). I don't care less about cherries, to be honest, but as for my man...I wonder how I can cope with his cherry withdrawal symptoms until next season. read more

BEST Cherries EVER!! My hubby showed me how much he loves me by bringing home 18 lbs of cherries from Fairhaven! $46 for 18lbs - not too bad since I just paid $3.50/lb at the farmers market for OK cherries. I like my cherries to crunch when I bite into them but still be sweet - Fairhaven cherries are always like this. With gas prices it's hard to justify a trip to Hollister, but if you're in the area stop by for some of the best cherries! read more

This is the best place ever to get apricots. I used to buy a 25lb box every year so I could can some, make jam and have some in the freezer for apricot pies, as well as eating a lot! Now I live in Long Beach and just happened to be up there last week before the apricots were ready. I was crushed. But, good fortune for me, a friend is heading up there this weekend and is bringing me a box. The apricots here are worth traveling for. If I lived within 2 hours of this place I would drive there for them. They have Blenheim apricots, big and juicy. The juice literally runs down your arm with the first bit. One word of caution, they don't take cards, just checks and cash. read more

Cherries schmerries. Yes, they're fabulous cherries. Large, sweet, juicy, great flavor. No, you won't find them in any store. But the big deal is the APRICOTS!!! These are Blenheim apricots and you will never find them in the store because they don't ship well. This is what an apricot is supposed to taste like, unlike all those other cardboard-cots that you buy elsewhere. This is what you remember apricots tasting like. People commit serious crimes to have a piece of pie made from these apricots. No, I'm not kidding. They're only available 2 weeks a year, so make plans. They are almost always ready the first 2 weeks in July. Call ahead to be sure they have them. To top it all off, they're inexpensive compared to the cardboard-cots you'll find in the stores. Because they don't all ripen at the same time, we buy at least 1 whole lug and have delicious treats for 7-10 days. Pick through them every day to find the ripe ones. A treat not to be missed. We usually bring back 7-10 lugs to supply friends and neighbors, who also can't wait to get their hands on them. At some places you can come close to their cherries. But the apricots are pure heaven. DO NOT MISS THEM!! read more

Before going to this place I called them and asked if they were open for "CHERRY PICKING" the person who answered the phone said that they were "OPEN" guess what? when my family and friends arrived they said they don't allow Cherry picking!! We just bought the dried apricots from Fairhaven because we were assured by the sales staff at a fruit stand in Santa Cruz that there was nothing on them. The "preserved with Sulphur Dioxide" is on the label, but is written in such tiny letters that we couldn't see it. When we got home and I ate one I immediately had an asthma attack from the Sulphur. Using such tiny lettering for the label is a very poor business practice. These statements are required to be on the label for a reason. I tried to contact the company directly rather than posting on Yelp, but their website address doesn't work. read more
