A little bit expensive but definitely worth it for the quality you get. Also like the fact that they pick their fruits fresh daily and you can see the workers sorting everything in front of you really cool experience and really nice folks.

Don't get me wrong, but cherry season is officially over at this Orchards. This year we visited just about every week to buy18 lbs Bing & Rainer. Today it was Bing, boy, was a total miss! The price went up too. It was $50/#18 in the past, but now it's $60 and the quality went downhill (sad face). Rainer wasn't good, either ($60/#18) a few weeks ago. They weren't seen this afternoon. We say see you next year. Bing (not Rainer) were incredibly out of this worldly good a few weeks ago, and I finally learned the lives of cherries are short in a hard way (tears). I don't care less about cherries, to be honest, but as for my man...I wonder how I can cope with his cherry withdrawal symptoms until next season.

Off highway 152 through the central valley in the city of Hollister sits Fairhaven Farms that sells huge Bing & Van cherries, walnuts &fruit

On our honeymoon on the way to Carmel, we stopped and bought the most delicious and huge Bing and Van cherries! This family farm also sells apricots and walnuts but it's the cherries on the rows of trees that line the main road to the farm store that are worth the stop here.

    I eated all the cherries....

BEST Cherries EVER!! My hubby showed me how much he loves me by bringing home 18 lbs of cherries from Fairhaven! $46 for 18lbs - not too bad since I just paid $3.50/lb at the farmers market for OK cherries. I like my cherries to crunch when I bite into them but still be sweet - Fairhaven cherries are always like this. With gas prices it's hard to justify a trip to Hollister, but if you're in the area stop by for some of the best cherries!

The best cherries ever!! Worth every penny.

We lived there until 2010 and I always try to get down there when cherry season is in swing (even if it involves driving 250 miles to do it) I just LOVE the cherries there.

Well, it's always easy for me to find this farm's bounty in going to the Ferry Farmers' market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. They started participating in the market about two years ago and, at first, I mainly only bought strawberries (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=JO1Cnr4pkcFCVEEfFkGKYA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) from them. Over the past eighteen months, I've become an avid fan of their vegetables especially their cauliflower (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=gC_FKh5f_f7M2Gj7ZbUB4A&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), cabbage, broccoli, and broccolini. I generally cook them within the week to preserve their freshness in flavors and textures, after all they are organic. And, when tomatoes are back in season, check whether they offer their self made salsas. They have become one of my weekly and sometimes twice weekly shopping stops at the Ferry Building. Do look for their stand by the main building entrance on the north side on Tuesdays and along the south driveway at Saturdays.

Once we found Green Thumb Organics we never looked back and have been with them for years. They have provided us with a yummy, healthy, beautiful, environmentally friendly bounty of food over the past few years and we have loved all of the spectacular fare that their hard work has prepared. Maria and Rudy are the kindest most hardworking and thoughtful people you will ever encounter. Their adversity and hard work is impressive having helped them adapt and persevere through some extremely difficult situations including the COVID shutdown and the recent floods. Rudy, himself, not only works the farm, but every week drives hundreds of miles and delivers his hard work with a beautiful, heartfelt smile on his face - always. Maria answers every email and addresses every question or ordering platform navigation challenges that one may run into. Their homemade salsa and marinara are scrumptiously spectacular! I literally buy 5 jars of salsa at a time every couple of weeks. Their prices are very low for what you receive. This is the last CSA you will ever need. Stop shopping and sign up with them. You'll feel better supporting a local, small business while being economical and environmental, helping you and/or your family's physical and mental health.

Their stand is across the Wise Sons, Bini's Kitchen, Mangosay, and Farmer's Wife stands. They have mainly a variety of vegetables and tomatoes. I've bought cabbage, heirloom tomatoes when in season, and cauliflower from them. Heck, they even have purple cauliflower if your timing is right. Recently, I started buying their salsas since it's my current craving, best eaten watching sports (especially football these days, Go Niners!). I opened my bottle of their salsa (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=chl0CMVW9F5KsLAFjjv1Zg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) and finished almost half of it in one sitting. It was mildly spicy but smooth with strands of tomato to make it more interesting. Let's just say, I made a point to get another one the following Saturday. I happened to but a head of cabbage which was light in weight but was enough for two stir fry servings for our family of four. Will stop here again at the Ferry Building on Saturday and see what veggies I may get for our Sunday dinner. I also need to check out their other salsa flavors.

I would scale back the specialty items and create more room for produce and possibly fresh flowers. The guy that seems to always be running the store is very friendly and helpful and somehow seems to be doing everything in the store and ringing up customers. I give him 4-5 stars for effort and attitude, hopefully ownership provides him with a better layout in the store and more logical selection of items. The location is great very convenient to and from the house, a nice alternative to going into Safeway or Nob Hill. I little more thought and re-merchandising and would surely be very popular.

Now there are…read moreproducts stuffed into every nook and cranny- just a mess- the place feels like a 7-11 there's so many products all over the place. I suggest you stop trying to have everything you can fit- and get really, really, extraordinary good at your core products- produce. The flow at the two cash registers is, well- missing. Its terrible and no one knows where to stand while waiting. There's more junk for sale and supplies piled all over- taking up all the space. The registers are near the customers, with no queue or flow to set your purchases down and move towards a cashier. Product quality has gone way down, especially the avocados. I bought a half dozen of the large that, after days of ripening, the skin would peel off and crumble in your hand- yet the meat was hard as a rock after the first half inch. Brought them back and the manager traded for new ones, but they weren't ripe so we weren't able to serve our guests the guac we promised. Half the second batch did the same thing- ripened for 5 days and felt perfect, but once cut open was hard as a rock and unusable below half an inch. The tomatoes have lost all their fresh flavor too- we really likes the "homemade", vibrant taste they had for months, but that disappeared about three months ago. Its sad to see the place go downhill so quickly, but their products at the height of summer aren't very good, its just "ok". All of this is easily fixed! Get rid of the non core stuff, improve product quality (or find new vendors) and change the layout to make paying far easier.
