I'll just list the issue so far : Fire/smoke detector hanging from ceiling Cracked tiles coming up in bathroom Shower rod about to fall off holder One towel allowed per person So much odor remover in the hallways and rooms it makes your throat dry Breakfast was little to non existent Coffee was beyond bitter and smelled funny. (I'm the person that will drink left over coffee the next day if hecesssry and this wouldn't even come close to being drinkable. Shower water smelled like something g was dead inside the tank Front desk personnel stated nothing they can do. No maintenance people on the weekends and no manager to speak with until Monday. (Currently Saturday) Been on with Marriott Bonvoy for 30 minutes as they are trying to speak with hotel staff and the staff keep hanging up on Bonvoy Customer Service. read more

This is not Marriott standard by one star at all. When I arrived the customer service staff did greet us, but immediately I did not feel comfortable looking at the lobby and the cleanliness. Upon arrival into the room, it was a very wet smell oder and the drainage smelled of sewage in the bathroom sink. Rusted decor, old furnishings and the side door did not need a key we walked right in!!! As you can see from the pictures, this hotel needs a huge renovation. We did not stay long enough to see what was offered for breakfast and we left during the middle of our stay. The wall colors in the hallways do not meet Marriott standards they were orange and the elevator sounded as if it were about to break down. If you find another room in the area, please go there don't bother coming here until they get a better standard of Marriott hotel brand is known for. Please read my entire review and decide for yourself... you will see my initial response to the GM, and his final response for a lack of space allotted from Yelp. I think the point is clear- its nasty, and Fred did NO homework. If he had, he would have KNOWN that I spoke to the front desk four times, and absolutely communicated my issues, and that was how I was given the card with his email address to begin with. As for his "100 % certainty that they (we) do not have mice." Nice try calling me a liar- you know better! Who cares if you have "pest control," you clearly have pest control, because you have PESTS! Regarding your mention of mice on your last night, I can assure you with 100% certainty that we do not have mice in our hotel. Your gentleman with grey slicked back hair who works the desk in the evenings proved to be a major jerk- to say it nicely. I went down to explain my concerns about the room, and was simply told I could "talk to the GM." The room (as you can see below in photographs) was a complete mess. I begrudgingly just went to bed and left for my first day of meetings, only to return and have nothing done in my room while I was gone that day. The room had not been made over, the pillows not dealt with, and place just as nasty as it was when I checked in. So now I have all my peers in your hotel and it was just easier to stay, and I assumed the issued would be dealt with for my next night. I left for day 2 of training and then returned to find that my room, again had not been touched. I was less than pleased. On my final night there, I awoke to two mice- yes two, running a crossed my bed. This is completely unacceptable. The place simply cannot be this out of control that mice on a second-floor room have taken over a hotel. I have called the hotel three times asking to speak with you- you apparently are too busy to talk to your customers. I do intend to share my experience with others online to ensure they all know they have options- and in my opinion, your hotel should not be one of them. I just wanted to do the right thing and let you know in writing before I shared my experiences online, and with Marriott. I do not believe I should have to pay a dime for this stay. While the staff is friendly and the rooms are generally clean, they cheap out on breakfast, on towels, and bathroom remodeling. They only stock one bath towel and one hand towel per room even if the room has two beds. This morning, we didn't even get a hot breakfast. Also, the coffee was lukewarm, making me think it was actually the coffee from the day before. No flavorings are offered for the coffee. Instead of replacing tubs, they repaint them.And the paint is peeling off. They also make it so that you cannot take a bath, only a shower, by eliminating the tub plug. The person that came to fix my tub was the same person from the front desk which means they don't even have an on-site maintenance person. read more

The hotel was located in a very convenient location for myself. The hotel is easily accessible and close to the freeway, yet set far enough away to have no noise from it. The hotel itself is an older hotel. The furniture had some issues, such as a TV stand/dresser that was being propped closed by someone's clothes tag. This was quite tacky. The beds were a little soft in my opinion, but still comfortable. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Unfortunately the refrigerator was missing the racks on the inside so it couldn't fit much. The microwave was very low wattage and unable to pop popcorn, but it was fine for heating leftovers. The desk which I needed since I was working was wonderful and honestly my favorite aspect of the room. Overall it was a fairly quiet hotel. The staff was pleasant. Room was musty and damp. Could not sleep or breathe,in morning found sink & closet area had a lot of mold. even though they changed my room they did not care. Health dept notified and requested to see the room they had at least 30 hrs to clean room and they did dehumidify and scrub . Plz report anything like this to health dept. Plz don't let this hotel get away with this. BTW Marriott did not care either. read more

The biggest win for this property is it's staff- they are fantastic! Jessica (Jessika?) at the front desk checked me in and she was AMAZING!!!!! SO friendly, she made great conversation while she checked me in and was still quite efficient! She also offered to provide area recommendations and she promised to call to check on the condition of my room. She ended up seeing me walk through the lobby about 10 minutes later and followed up on if my room was okay. She was the epitome of hospitality. Besides, Jessica the rest of the staff I interacted with, which was limited to a maintenance man outside who went out of his way to hold the door open for me, and a phone operator who set up my wake up call was super nice. The location for me was convenient for the work travel I was doing. It is closed to 295 and located just off of a main road with lots of food, gas stations, grocery and convenience stores nearby. This hotel also offers a free hot breakfast. I thought the menu was decent- make your own waffles, breads and pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit, oatmeal as well as scrambled eggs and sausage. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water are available around the clock. There were also cookies at the front desk when I checked in which was nice! The lobby is well maintained and features a business computer and printer if you need it! The hotel features a fitness center which is open 24 hours. It only had a few machines, but good variety. There is also an outdoor pool available, although I did not use it. The only "meh" part of the stay is the room. I felt my room was clean, but it is clear that this is an older property. The rooms and hallways could use some refreshing as decor does appear older and warn. Compared to similar comparably priced properties I feel the rooms are not on par with the competition. read more

I stayed here this past weekend due to my love for Matriot brand hotels. This location does not meet the standard of other Marriots. Checked in online and did not get my notification my room was ready until 7pm after reaching out to the hotel via chat. Other Marriots are doing the mobile key which I confirmed via the app but they still made me come to the front desk and check-in and gave me a hard key. The dust was horrible and on all surfaces. The shower made a loud noise when turned to hot. The only reason I am giving this hotel a 2 star is because the gentleman at the front desk was nice and professional but I wouldnt stay here again. read more

Stayed here for a business trip for 2 nights. This is the grossest hotel I've been at in a while. There was makeup on the washcloths before I used them, some kind of vomit like substance on one of the sides of the bed, dust everywhere, gunk and sticky stuff everywhere and a VERY NOTICEABLE PEE STAIN on the comforter you're supposed to sleep in. We had to ask for new pillow cases as well because there were brown stains. It is no surprise this hotel has less than 3 stars. Please do not spend your good money on this shitty hotel. I see this place gets so so reviews. All I can say is my experience was excellent. They were a lifesaver to me. I was without a room and it was after 9 when I showed up practically begging for a room under $200. They were all filled up supposedly but the Desk person worked some magic that was majorly appreciated and got me a room due to a possible cancellation. And I only paid $145 which was so much better than Hotel Tonight or Priceline. I normally get lucky but not this night. I got lucky with a fantastic Desk Person. Room clean n roomy. A/C wifi tv no issues. Staff friendly and maid service top shelf. Only negative.. no pool or bar area. Breakfast was free and more than fine. Coffee tea hot chocolate free 24/7. The reason I gave this hotel a 4 instead of a 3 was the service alone. This hotel was definitely not fancy but got the job done for work. What I loved was the positive attitudes of everyone I encountered and when I asked for anything my request was immediately filled. The ice machine wasn't working on the second floor and once I mentioned it they had it fixed the next day. I also liked the size of the room bc it was spacious with plenty of room to set up my work station. It had a good microwave and a great fridge that kept everything cold. The bed was ok but I can tell the mattress was a little old. Same thing with the towels. The tub definitely needs to be resurfaced and was very slippery... thank goodness I have great balance. The complimentary breakfast was ok but nothing to rave about. At least the coffee was really good each morning. Follow me on ig sweet_maloy. I am beyond disgusted by the customer service that I received during and after my stay at Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriot in Orange Park Florida. This hotel has a serious mold problem on the second floor. You can smell it upon entering that floor. When I bought it to the owner and managers attention. They basically called me a liar and told me it was built up dust. I was also emailed by the manager that they did a mold test and it wasnt mold. I am blown away!! The mold is visible In the bathroom. On the ceiling and upper shower wall. The shower head is disgusting. The AC was broken. There are holes in the walls in the hallway. the carpet is ripped in some places. The elevator makes a banging noise. I asked for a refund and was denied. They also told me that they couldn't change my room until checkout time. i was told that they'd give me a free cancellation on my second night and was still charged. I only stayed a few hours and left to another hotel across the street. I feel I should have received a full refund. This hotel needs to be closed until this issue is fixed. This was an "over night on the road" stop and was fine. Fairfield Inns are at the lower end of the Marriott family of hotels, so I set my expectations correctly and wasn't disappointed. The room was rather large. Everything was spiffy clean and working properly. The staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. There are a number of rstauatnts nearby which was nice. The free breakfast buffet in the morning was plain and simple, but did the trick. Nice place to stop while on the road. read more

If you are traveling on Military Orders I would not recommend this Hotel. My kids came to see me and wanted to stay the night. I was not allowed to do that due to their policy. So I checked out of the reminder 10 days stay and went down the street to another brand hotel with better rooms and gave them my Government Rate 10 day stay to them. They even provided free breakfast for my kids for the 2 days they stayed with me. Now that's customer service. The biggest customer base in this area is the Military. I'll just leave it at that. My guys will not be staying at your property in the future as there are other options around the area. read more

I stayed for 9 days during a business trip to NAS JAX, which is just a few miles up the road. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were pretty good: comfortable bed, microwave, mini-fridge, and single use coffee maker. Housekeeping was hit and miss. The first day there was still a used washrag in the shower, other days my coffee or soap wouldn't be replenished, and my room was skipped one day entirely. The gym is small (2 treadmills, an elliptical, dumbbells) but is functional, and has a water dispenser. There is a laundry room with one washer and dryer and is coin operated. The breakfast is pretty good! Variety of eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, cereals, fruit, etc. read more

My husband and I had a trip planned on Saturday October 30 and we booked a room with Fairfield Inn Orangepark but un inspected shooting happened and lost a very close family member which made us had to cancel our trip. Called and explain the situation amd was told that the manager was not in for us to call back within an hour. Well I called back to explain the situation again the lady that answered the phone was very rude telling she had customers to deal with to send a email and hung up the phone, sent email and tried calling back still haven't heard from anyone they charged my card and I didn't or haven't gotten a manager yet! A wonderful surprise! We stayed one night on our way to Orlando, but loved it! The hotel is basic, but nice and clean. The staff, however, was amazing! So thoughtful and focused on customer service. The free breakfast is the best we have ever seen! They offered 3 types of eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles, yogurt with several topping choices, cereal, various drink choices, bagels, and more! Fairfield by Marriott 450 Eldridge Dr Orange Park FL 32073. Checked in 8/5/2021 checkout 8/7/2021 three day charge. Paid for full stay $417.39 invoice attached. Noticed approx. 8/20/2021 that there were still two holds on credit card showing "pending" from this location, one for 8/5//2021 and the other 8/6/2021 for $204.00 each, and to this day are STILL showing as pending so this location is holding on to over $400.00 of my money. Bank says merchant is the one who places and releases hold. Attempted to find out what was going on called location on Friday 8/20/2021 and phone was answered by "Cara" who in formed me that there was nothing she could do or check on and that a manger would have to help me and asked me for my name and phone number and promised a call back. "Cara" also claimed there was no corporate office I could call to help me. Another lie. Two hours later I called again as I thought that this was probably a fairly common question and someone should have called me back by now. Once again "Cara" answered phone and curtly informed me that she had taken my name and number and someone would call me and kept stating "thank you for calling" as a way for me to end the call. I pressed her as to when someone who could help me and she stated she did not know, she did not have everyone's schedule, which to me was a smart alec remark as well as a lie, if she had some type of personal issue and was the only one there and had to leave surely she knew how to get ahold of someone and or when they would be in. A couple of hours later I called again only to be met with the same rudeness and obviously wanting me to get off the phone, and once again no idea when someone would call me. I tried again in the late afternoon and finally someone named "Stephanie" claimed she could help me, after admonishing me for repeatedly calling, they had my message and would call me (although they had not to that point). Stephanie did not seem to understand my issue and kept talking over me, and finally she seemed to get it and outright lied to me by telling me that they did not put any holds on my credit card and the bank must have done it because "they are crooks." I also had asked to speak to the general manager of the hotel who they told me was someone named Brittney but she was in the hospital and they did not know when she would return. I called twice several days after this and asked to leave a voice mail or email for Brittney but Stephanie refused to give me an email or put me though to voice mail. read more

I am normally not a Marriott chain frequent traveler but on this trip the Fairfield Inn was available at a reasonable price. My check-in experience was terrific. As a smoker the front desk clerk accommodated me with a first floor room convenient to the outside smoking area. The room was very clean with all needed amenities. I am particularly fussy about the room having ample electrical outlets for cell phone charging, etc and my room had plenty. The daily breakfast has enough options that you shouldn't be disappointed. The hotel was convenient to our local office location and is relatively close to several dining options. read more

Great hospitality. Staff attentive and courteous. The room rate in September 2016 $113 per night. We stayed during out sons USODA southeast championship regatta hosted by the Florida yacht club. 10 minute drive. Close to grocery store: Winn Dixie. Hot/cold breakfast available in the mornings (eggs, ham/sausage, muffins, make your own waffle station, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, milk, juice dispenser, cereal station, toast, coffee station, oatmeal and grits) the breakfast is you below average to average quality. The room had two queen beds, microwave, fridge, desk, TV, closet, long mirror, tub and shower. Shampoo, conditioner, location, soap bar & make up remover provided (low quality). Plenty of lamps for lighting. Two drawers Available for clothes storage. The room felt MUSTY - humid - it seems they have water damage.... Sheets were clean. Pillows were comfortable. The beds were SMALL size. I would have a hard time returning due to the MUSTY feel making it hard to breathe comfortably. The bathrooms are small. We had friends stay across the street at courtyard by marriot they had a much better review of their hotel room and paid less for their nightly rate.... read more

On the plus side, the place is clean, free wi-fi, and it includes breakfast; on the negative side the rooms are old and my room felt damp.The place is in need of an upgrade. 'Real" rating: 1.5 (but Yelp does not allow "1/2 stars"). The "good part: But, it was not all bad. Both employees at the front desk were quite pleasant and reflected positively on the owner. But there was muuuuch more bad than good: 1. The room was really, really small. Maybe a booking error? I don't know. But the room was the size one might expect in a Microtel, Red Roof Inn, etc. Double (not Queen) bed. 2. The bed was really uncomfortable. Really. The mattress felt like it should have been replaced years ago. 3. The pillows was pretty much useless -- also should have been replaced long ago. 4. The HVAC, which was right next to the bed in this tiny room, was really noisy. Really noisy. 5. When we left the toilet was running; never shut off the entire time we were there. (Wonder why the housekeeping folks don't report things like this -- or maybe the owner does not care?) 6. The breakfast, such as it was, was quite poor. I thought Holiday Inn Express facilities were bad (they are), but this was worse. 7. The HVAC system was dusty and our allergies started acting up. (See the photos -- the dust was plentiful -- and obvious. It's rather clear they're seldom or never cleaned.) Would we return? Absolutely not! By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. My mom is paralyzed on one side from a stroke. We booked a handicap room, checked in early in app, and even sent a message saying it was important that we got a handicap room, but when we arrived, they said none were available quoting a fine print that says only if available. If you go to any restaurant or store, they have to have handicap bathrooms, so I am not sure how a hotel gets away with such discrimination. The staff was very rude about it with the manager literally screaming at me upon check out. When we checked in, the man at the desk basically made fun of the situation saying that they couldn't make every room handicap accessible. The room was very dirty looking with a moldy looking crack in the ceiling. It smelled like an ashtray. Despite the fact that my mom was in a wheelchair, they put us on the 2nd floor, where we had to wait In line to go up the elevator as there was a party going on 2 rooms down from us and a large crowd smelling of marijuana was using the elevator for that. I cannot believe that this hotel is part of the Marriott chain. This hotel would appeal to drug dealers and prostitutes, but is not the place to take a family, especially if one of your family members has a disability. read more

Rooms and hotel in general seem to be dated. Marriott should take more pride in not letting their properties falling behind on the times. Musty odor and overall not very clean. Disappointed is an understatement and I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone. Denied at the door. So we were traveling from San Diego ca to Florida with two emotional support animals. One dog , one bird. I know the bird sounds funny but he helps alleviate stress. Well we were pushing them in covered up because the bird gets excited with new places and they stopped us accused us of "sneaking" them in. Then when we tried to tell them that my dad was going to let them know they denied the service animals. Told him that he need to be reported at check in. Well my dad grabbed the keys for us last night so we would have them in the morning so he didn't say anything at check in. So now I have to find another place for my mom with her service animals because of one woman's over zealousness at the front desk. The kicker is they would not refund the nights stay because of the fact that it was already past check out. I could understand refund and deny but this was ridiculous. I will be also filing a complaint with ada for denying a service animal. read more

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Jacksonville Orange Park on May 7th, 2018. I woke up to a cockroach on my left forearm. I notified the Front Desk -I showed them a picture of the cockroach on my bed and the rash on my arm- asking if they could relocate me to a Marriott property across the street. The hotel manager refused to accommodate me, but offered me 250-points (the hotel costs 15,000-points/night) for my inconvenience. I have spent two months going back and forth with Marriott customer service. After several exchanges with the hotel's manager, a Marriott Customer Care representative, and the Customer Care representative's supervisor, all of whom I had to follow up with because they simply passed off my request for assistance without following through, I have been rewarded a total of 750-points (5% the value of my stay) and zero reimbursement. I am a Marriott Silver member. I wish I could say this is a negative review of one stay at one hotel, but Marriott's collective customer service has been an embarrassment. read more
