Discovered roaches in my hotel room woke up to two roaches crawling on the wall in my bathroom. Left immediately. Told the clerk, showed her the photo and management has yet to call me. I'm an Ambassador Elite member. I made a reservation for check in on 19 August 2023 using points. I called on 18 August at 0630 to cancel because I woke up feeling horrible so I knew that I couldn't make this trip. I called the hotel to cancel the reservation and the night shift person said she could do that for me but I wanted to know if I was going to get my points returned to my account. When she couldn't answer the question because she is a new hire with improper training her tone and attitude changed. Nowhere on my reservation did it say that I could not cancel and needless to say I did not get my points returned to my account. I will follow-up with Bonvoy because this is ridiculous. read more

This hotel is by far the worse experience Of a lifetime for staying at a hotel. This weekend we had a hockey tournament and many of us stayed here thinking it was safe at a Marriott. Well we were so wrong. So many things happen to us as a group and individually. Worst event being the front desk gave a key to a homeless person to one of our parents occupied room and let him in room at 5am while one of our parents were sleeping in room with his son. This homeless person was aggressive and trying to push his way in. Another parent had a separate homelsss person sleeping in front of their door. We address to the front desk that they were in hotel and sleeping in common areas and they said they were guests which was untrue. My room the fire alarm was beeping and they said they had no maintenance man to fix the problem. I had an adjoining room for my son and they could not move us both together. I had to sleep down the hall in a separate room from my son which was unsafe. They expressed they would fix in the morning so I could keep two rooms together and when we returned to the room it was still beeping. The front desk ladies tried to fix it and could not. They had to move us completely down the hall. There was no option to leave at this point. So we moved rooms. So the whole time we're unsafe if there was a fire. Please don't stay here and they should remove the Marriott name from this hotel. The general manager was unavailable until Monday morning when we were checking out. His response was well you should of left if you felt unsafe. I don't answer calls when I am off for my mental health. This was an unreal experience. I had to put 1 star to post but doesn't deserve it. read more

This Marriott may be one of the worst Marriotts I've stayed in. Pros: + The manager is pretty awesome. One complaint and he apologized with-in half a day for the condition of the property, and tried to make it right with points and correcting what issues he could. + The breakfast area always has hot water and tea, and usually something to munch on! Cons: - The rooms are antiquated, even for a Fairfield. Further, a couple of the things in both rooms I've had were broken. Including the desk chair in one room. - No fridge! - The bathroom was awkwardly old, and when you're in a hotel, you want that room to seem new. Ya know... so it doesn't seem like so many people have used it... - The muted, green, patterned carpet in the halls and rooms is just gross. - The elevators are honestly scary. A bit shuddery, and verrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slllllllllooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww *boomboomboomboomslideding* - The internet varies wildly, between completely useless, and moderately quick. It's not the best internet, but it got the job done. After I called to get the IT firm to fix it... an hour and a half later... Overall, the problem is that it just needs a renovation badly. Drive a bit farther, there are comparably priced hotels in Laurel, Columbia, and Silver Springs with far better accommodation. read more

Had to stay here for work. My government tax exempt form was not processed during check-in which resulted in room taxes to be included on my receipt upon checkout. During checkout, I asked that the taxes be removed but I was told that it would happen via email later that day. After my flight home, I checked my email nine hours later to find that I did not receive an email confirming refund of taxes and had to call hotel to get it adjusted. After the phone call, an email was promptly sent within 5 minutes. As a platinum rewards member, I was also given the handicap room on a floor that I didn't want. The air/heating unit was loud which wakes me up at regular intervals throughout the night when it turns on to heat up the room. The air/heating unit continuously ON function for the fan didn't work either in order to have white noise while I slept. So I spent three sleepless nights here which didn't help since I needed to give a presentation for work and needed to be alert. As for breakfast, the waffle maker is not working well either. The outside is crispy but the inside is a gooey undercooked mess. At least the Chick-fil-A is within a 3 minute walk from the hotel. read more

The Fairfield Inn Laurel has truly disappointed me! Though I was excited about them having last minute availability on Valentine's Day my stay hasn't been equally exciting. First, the gentleman who checked me in on the 14th at 2pm had GREAT customer service. I was already late for a work meeting so when I checked in and was not pleased with the cosmetic view of my bathroom I had no time to complain, it honestly, wasn't cleaned to my standard and the bathtub had a black spot/stain that at a quick glance looks like a bug (made me jump a couple times). The bathroom just needed some slight cosmetic fixes but it was enough to make me question if this was a Marriott Rewards member room or if I was even on the rewards member floor. Once I noticed I wouldn't be leaving my work assignment until 1 am around midnight 2/15 I call the hotel to see if I can receive a late check out, I was told 3pm check out would be no problem. I wish they would've communicated this to their housekeeping team as my door was knocked on at 9:17am waking me up, again at 12:24pm waking me up and finally at 2:22pm a Hispanic housekeeper with no knock attempted to barge into my room, thank God I had the latch hook on the door because I was nude being that I had just gotten out of the shower. Then rather than her apologizing for being intrusive she chose to go back and forth in the hallway with her coworker about who approved my late check out and how they have no rooms. It would've been nice to at least have an apology, especially since I had already been woken out of my sleep twice by the other housekeeper and a couple times throughout the night by the grizzly bear that was asleep in the room next door. Why were the walls that thin? At this point other than the young man who checked me in I'm not impressed with the staff because mind you when I arrived to the hotel at 3am and was looking through the snack shelf rather than greeting me or asking if I need help the front desk guy just came and stared at me as if I was about to steal which was enough to make me walk away. Then, unable to fight my hunger, I return and he comes around the corner huffing and puffing like I'm bothering him, I ask, "how're you?", he ignores me, rings my snacks in and tells me my total is $4 When someone is staying somewhere on business you don't expect to deal with all of this and such rudeness. I'm just overall not satisfied. Customer service, room, just not happy. read more

A standard Fairfield inn, the man at the front desk was super when I checked in. Very polite and lots of personality. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. The breakfast area is large clean. Hot coffee and tea all day and night. I like it better than the Hampton Inn across the street. read more

I've stayed at this hotel twice, the first time on the third floor and the second time on the first floor. Generally, I prefer high rooms but the elevators were soooo slow and one was broken for the duration of our stay (2 days). On the first floor, the walls seemed to be tissue paper thin. We could hear tons of noise from the lobby/elevator area until midnight and the noise from the food/elevator area was horrendous starting at 6am. We always eat the free breakfast but that is because 1. It's convenient and 2. It's free. It's just the run of the mill free breakfast with make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, breads/pastries, and a selection of juices and coffees. Both stays the breakfast has been super crowded, like no tables available crowded. The kitchen staff is pretty terrible but I'd be a terrible employee too if I was treated the way some of the customers treat them. The coffee/hot water is available all the time which I appreciate. The front desk staff is pretty nice and will give recommendations to the best of their ability. Be warned however that the clientele here can be umm...how can I say this is a politically correct way...ghetto fabulous? Both times I have seen some ladies dressed in inappropriate club attire asking about "ratchet" clubs in DC. Overall, this hotel is okay for convenience and short overnight stays. read more

Stayed 2 nights this past weekend, it was ok , it served its purpose. Nothing to special, small lobby, small exercise room,breakfast was plentiful and filling. Located right on Baltimore ave , a main rd. To go to I-95 or US-1. Bed very comfy,room very clean. No bugs or insects. I recommend you stay here. We've been staying at this hotel for the past few years when my daughter's team has a competition in the area. The team has always stayed together and the parents get together and have some team bonding in the common areas of the hotel. After dinner on Saturday night, we all gathered in the lounge area. At 9:30 PM when I saw police officers walk by the lounge area, I was worried that something dangerous was happening, but then the police sheepishly came back to our area and watched the little girls playing board games and parents hanging out and said that the management had called in a disturbance on us! We were all shocked. The police were not pleased with the front desk of the hotel for wasting their time. And we won't be wasting any more of our money staying at the fairfield inn in laurel ever again! In terms of the rest of our stay, the walls are paper thin, the air was not well regulated in our hotel room and I was too hot throughout the night even after trying to adjust the outdated window unit, and there was no fruit out at breakfast and we were up early for the breakfast because of our sporting event, so it's not like we were there at the tail end of breakfast, I just don't think that had any fresh fruit! read more

Nice hotel, convenient location, it's within walking distance of several restaurants/coffee shops. One tip, ask the hotel staff to disable the dimness on the televisions. TVs are preset to be dim. Not able to brighten the TV while I'm here. Am seeking support from the hotel. read more

Typical Fairfield rooms. Ok for what they are. Wallpaper was peeling in 3 locations in the bathroom, appeared to have been patched after a poorly made repair. Considerable black mold behind the wallpaper. Disgusting. As a Platinum member, I stay at a lot of Marriotts from Level 3 to 9 and this is unacceptable. I'm not that picky but mold measured in square feet is over the top. read more

This was a first-time stay in Laurel, MD for my boyfriend and I as we attended my good friend's wedding this weekend. :) When you are traveling, scheduling is important and the Fairfield Inn was very accommodating. We had to be back in the room earlier than normal so we could get ready for the wedding. My boyfriend asked the clerk at the front desk if our room could be cleaned first. Not only did the clerk ask the maids, she came to the breakfast area to find us and tell us it was all set. When someone goes out of their way to accommodate their guests, that's service for you. I was a guest at the Fairfield Inn Marriott April 9, 2016. I was not pleased at all with the service I received at this hotel. When I used the restroom in my room the toilet would not flush looked as if I was about to overflow. I called the front desk to ask if she could come to plug the toilet, I was told no ma'am you can come & get the plunger from the front desk. When I arrived to the front desk I asked if I could get a different room, I was told no because they were sold out. Evidently the toilet was messed up from the previous guest, that was the first time i used the toilet was right before I went to get the plunger. It was a big inconvenience, even though I'm not a Plummer I was able to fix the toilet. When I checked out on Sunday April 10, 2016 I did explain to the lady at the front desk they would need a Plummer to check out the toilet in room 119 & the problem I experienced. Horrible experience with a focus on character and customer service. I hold the highest elite membership with Marriott and have been in hotels 7 days a week for two years (job) all over the world. Of endless hotels, this has been my worst experience. After booking 2 months ahead through my travel agent, I spent over 45 minutes at front desk where they demanded they did not have authorization to charge my room on the business card we gave them. I had the fax and proof that they were sent what they needed. They ignored it for some reason?? My company months back wrote down the name of the person that they communicated with (routine) and and verified receiving what they needed for a smooth transition. It is not the mistake that matters, but the horrific disrespect, coldness, argumentative nature, and rudeness from the hotel front desk and the "Day Manager" that was appalling. After having to use my own personal card to secure the room, I spent the rest of the day trying to fix the problem (fun). At no point did they ever admit fault or apologize. The hotel itself is old and dirty and in a rough area. They also refused to upgrade my room and refused to put me on the top floor as I always request and almost always get because of my membership. There are other things I would say but can't. Just trust me! UGH! Don't go there!! read more

Well ... The fact that the staff are not white people friendly, GM is black... Enough said.. She sets a whiny tone amongst the others that certainly are not in the serving the needs of white customers.. Me... My stay was for four total nights were being extended nightly... They said the reason why the rate was increasing during the week was availabilty. Though it seemed quite slow... Breakfast was fair at best for serving yourself... As stated features go... Pool not functional.. Laundry for fee only... 109 units two washers one not working... two dryers. You get the picture... Priceline and Trevago 2.5 and there rate reflected it.. So i went Marriott.com and forked over my marketing information based on their Best rate guarantee... Match and better any other publicly available rate plus 25%... They didimprove there own published rate to rewards members which i went for.. Only to be uprated as time went on... Beware of the 13 % -Room tax and the CC preauthorzations of the stated rate plus an additional 20 per room for incidentals... So what they quote to get u in is not what they scam you for when its too late... Upon arrival the rooms phone was not working... The front desk.. Said. Sorry I have nobody here to take cate of it. Baffled i was disconnected from them and the world and if it wasnt for me trouble shooting the phone to faulty wiring... The following hour... . and. Finally callung the manager to demand they stop the preauthorzationes to my cc... They are happy to go wildly below my expections of Marriott... 24 hpur Best price rate guarntees is moot as most online sites wont allow you to back date if you are being charged market rate... Tney also failed to conduct daily housekeeping service on the third day... After requesting it during the extended stay... They had some guy not sure about deliver towels and linens and he actually seemed to expect to be tipped... Yea right... I am not a difficult person.. Not demanding anything over and above the standard based on what i was being charged... So... Just remember to beware of rate increases and higher than usual taxes and the not available incidental charges... That that say they are going to return to your CC... read more

The hotel was very nice. Everything looked clean and neat. The customer service was OKAY.. Here is the reason why they did not receive 5 stars. The room we were suppose to have was given to another guest with the same last name. Don't know how they mixed that up considering the other guest was a male and CLEARLY I am not and my name is not unisex. The Merriott Rep was very friendly. HOWEVER, what took me away was the fact she asked about me being related to the person who had the same last name and proceeded to tell me his name and where he was from. NOW I know where I work (part-time) providing guest information no matter how small is a violation. Makes me think if I had asked for his room number she may have given it to me. I wonder if she provided the same information to him?? Also, one of the beds were rock hard. I woke up with the worse back pain ever. The food was typical, the same in every hotel (waffles, cereal, etc.) but this is the first time turkey sausage and bacon were provided (thumbs up). However, they do not serve it every day. It appears as though the serve it every other day (listening to conversations). Will I return NO... For the fact that I fear my information will be given out if asked. read more
