I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was genuinely unacceptable--especially for a Hilton property. I had reservations about this hotel when booking, but I chose to upgrade to a junior suite, hoping my instincts were wrong. Unfortunately, they weren't. Within an hour of arriving and unpacking, I placed a cup of tea on the nightstand and returned to find it covered in ants. Not a few--enough to make it immediately clear there was a pest issue. As a frequent traveler and Hilton Diamond member, I have never encountered anything like this at a brand I trust. I contacted the front desk right away to request a room change, only to be told the hotel was sold out. When I asked about checking out, I was informed I would still be charged unless management decided otherwise in the morning. After a long day of travel, all I wanted was to rest. Instead of offering a meaningful solution, they sent maintenance to spray bug killer in the room. Being expected to stay in a room with active pests--and fresh chemical spray--while paying $140 for the night is unacceptable. Due to heavy rain, fatigue, and unfamiliarity with the area, I felt stuck and had no choice but to stay. I ended up trying to sleep while dealing with ants throughout the night, which is not something any guest should have to endure. This property has a serious cleanliness and maintenance issue and is in urgent need of renovation and proper pest control. We stayed here for three nights as I was competing in a show in Laurel. It's super easy to get to and in a convenient location as well, as the highway is right there. The building itself seemed older. The carpeting was pretty awful, but had updated bathrooms. The breakfast is not free, and a bit expensive for the same free breakfast at any other hotel, where it's free. Gym is fine. Small, but multiple cardio machines, a cable machine, dumbells, and one bench. The bench was missing the handle to pull up or down the back, so it's always stuck as a flat bench. Btw on our last morning, someone came into our room at 9am. I was naked, getting out of the shower. I believe they noticed there were items strewn all over the place and realized there were guests there, and left immediately. I looked out my peep hole immediately and saw a woman in hotel uniform. Highly inappropriate. The parking lot is pretty big, but there's a Mexican restaurant attached to the building so in the evenings, the lot is always full. read more

The only positive aspect of this property is its location. Situated in a remote area, it was very quiet with no surrounding noise. The hotel was not clean. I found a used bandage in my room, and even after requesting housekeeping service, it was still there following their visit. Housekeeping also removed the two hand towels we had but did not replace them. The shower appeared dirty and showed signs of what looked like early mold growth. In the lobby, a fast food cup I noticed on Monday remained in the same spot through my checkout on Wednesday, suggesting that common areas were not regularly maintained. The bathroom outlet was loose and potentially hazardous. When I attempted to unplug the hairdryer, the entire outlet felt like it might come out of the wall. The staff were professional and polite, though not particularly warm or friendly. read more

Not your standard Doubletree. I have stayed in many accross the US for business and pleasure This is an older hotel that used to be a Holiday Inn. Breakfast is a 16.95 buffett or higher priced ala carte items. Could only get buffett on weekend. Other Doubletrees offer made to order items and lunch/dinner items. Nice workout room but no pool Appreciate management changing our room after complaining about soft mattress and comping 1 night. Mexican restaurant next door and attached to hotel. Low ratings on Yelp Parking is challenging when crowded. It is in Industrial park I love the Chocolate chip cookies. Didnt regularly have them available. No microwave in room. read more

Booked this hotel through Expedia after looking at google reviews and it didn't disappoint us . Very nice hotel with a large corridor for breakfast and a neat/nice banquet hall. I was able to check in online through Hilton app. Very easy checkin process and as always Hilton experience was great . Was a bit pricey though. We spent about 170$ per night and had to book 2 rooms ! We had 2 more nights and did rebook our stay in Wyndham where we paid 108 per room . No free breakfast , no swimming pools . Gym was good . Rooms were good but no refrigerator! No laundry too . That's the main reason we checked out as we thought it wasn't worth for 170 per night just for the room. Best thing about this hotel was the Peruvian restaurant next door . Amazing food at affordable prices . Overall had a good experience but a little pricey ! read more

I am sitting here in my room and I have had the absolute worst experience at this hotel. I literally never leave reviews, but my stay here was so bad. I felt the need. The management of this hotel is completely impotent and negligent. As I sit here in my room right now, there is a raging party right outside of my doorway as it's nearly 10 PM. This is my second night staying here, and last night, a group of teenagers were jumping off their beds onto the floor right above me and so whenever I would fall asleep, the jumping with jolt me awake. It finally stopped at 12:30 in the morning, so I didn't say anything, but my daughter and I were hoping to come back and get to bed early tonight because of our terrible sleep last night. She has to be up very early for a softball tournament tomorrow, so we're wanting to be in bed by nine or 930. Well, Ibe announced to us, the hotel approved, a gigantic teenage dance party right in the main atrium of the hotel. Mind you, the hotel has several ballrooms that they could've held this party in, but they allowed a teenage travel group to hold a very loud very boisterous party in the middle of the hotel, right where all the rooms are as well. Just so incredibly thoughtless and careless and selfish of everyone involved. I complained to the manager and initially he assured me he was going to get them to stop by nine or 930 at the latest. When I went back out around 910, he then told me that the party will be going until 10 PM. These kids are not going to calm down at that point. They are super amped up, so I'm going to have to deal with another night of jumping around. It's not fair to the rest of us paying customers. I asked to have my room switched so that I'm not right outside of the giant teenage party, and the manager said he couldn't help me. I asked if I can get some sort of refund due to our terrible stay, and he said he's helpless. Just so incredibly frustrated... I will never stay at this hotel ever again and probably never stay at a Doubletree again if I can help it either. So disappointed with the thoughtless, helpless management at this particular location. I will most likely be contacting corporate about this terrible stay as well. read more

The outside building appearance and lobby area are clean and very nice; very welcoming when you first walk into the building. The parking lot had some bright areas and some that were very poorly lit; very inconsistent lighting. The room (235) was fine, but the shower felt cramped - almost like I was using an RV shower. The shower itself was nice, it just seemed smaller that most hotels I have stayed in. I did like that it was ONLY a stand-up shower (it is not a tub), but some people prefer baths. This room would not work well for you. The toilet had difficulty focusing. I had to hold the handle down for 2 seconds before releasing. The tank would also fill up every 45-60 minutes; likely has a gasket that is going bad. There were ants crawling around the room during second night, and I never had food in the room. I was unable to use the desk for too long because I couldn't get them to leave me alone and I couldn't figure out where they were coming from since the carpet was dark enough for them to blend in. Since I was able to check in via the mobile app and received a digital key, I never saw or spoke with any staff during stay except the nice lady that was clearing tables during the breakfast. This hotel has a continental breakfast that's ... average quality ... but it is NOT included in the room charges. It's an additional charge, and not worth the extra cost. read more

When speaking with the manager they told me I have to ASK to have my room cleaned, and to ask for it in the morning - but I'm checking out in the morning. What a dump of a hotel. It's got the Doubletree name, but it's not even comparable to a Motel 6. The rooms are dingy and old, the carpet is fraying, there's nothing modern in the bathroom area. The sinks are designed for a three-year-old and the bed and pillows are about done. As a drive around this area I look and it's quite the same. If you're doing business, I would stay at least 10 miles away and drive in. read more

While there's an opportunity to refresh and get rid of a few tears on the wallpaper and fresh paint here and there, our room was perfectly cleaned and equipped. Meh.... The lobby was nice that's about it. The room was clean but has no fridge or microwave. The walls in the room looked like they had to patch a bunch of areas so it looked outdated in a way kind of giving me Motel vibes. The floor was lumpy and uneven too. The walls are suuuper thin. I mean you hear everything from ppl next to you and above you! For that reason I wouldn't stay here again. It did it's job for that two nights we stayed but nothing to rant and rave about. read more

I was expecting so much more for what I paid. They don't even supply an initial set of complimentary drinking water. This place is located in a remote industrial park; so, it's not like you can go get what you need easily. And because Maryland makes obtaining alcohol difficult, it's a missed opportunity that there weren't drinks available for purchase in the room, even as there's an incidental holding fee. The toilet tank mechanism wasn't working properly. There were water stains on the ceiling. The paint job was worse than a Motel 6. The closet doors didn't lock, which is troublesome if you have a child. The carpeting was filthy, and matted down. The heavier curtains couldn't be drawn shut. The parking lot felt unsafe after sundown, as it was littered with shady characters and the pungent stench of marijuana. There was, however, complimentary hair on the comforter, which fell on my face when I got under the covers. It wasn't our hair--as none of us had long hair. The place sort of looks good, on the surface. But take a closer look, and you'll find there's nothing truly good about the place. read more

Can I give them stars for the cookies! It was a good location right off of the highway and right between laurel, Burtonsville, and silver spring. It use to be a days in or holiday in. It's been updated, but you can see the wear and tear from years of it being a rundown motel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The TVs worked and the gym was bigger than usual with much better equipment. At least 4-5 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, and free weights. The business center is right outside of the gym which covered up the old pool. Unfortunately the pool was covered up years ago to create a business friendly hotel. There is a great seafood restaurant attached to the hotel and they offer transportation within 5 miles of the facility. The only thing I didn't enjoy is the cost of breakfast and the lack of a pool. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. Like others mentioned, it is clean and modern. The staff was also very friendly. I happen to be a Hilton Diamond level so I don't know if this is something they do for everyone, but they gave me a warm cookie upon check-in. That's a way to get on my good side! Hotel is dirty, staff very unfriendly. Being a diamond member I am usually greeted with water and cookies but not here. The room next to us had 8-10 children and 3 adults in it. I keep my shoes on in the room cause they way if felt they probably haven't cleaned the floors in a minute. If it wasn't for the dirty room I probably would of gave it a better rating. I've been to this hotel for the few times in fact every time I travel to Maryland this is the choice hotel ; when I'm not staying with friends. It's located in the rural city of Laurel Maryland which is located in the suburbs not too far from the Baltimore airport. It's location is very convenient I love the fact that there's a A restaurant right on site and there's a convenient store and the gas station also right on site. This hotel is only a 10 minute drive away from my favorite Amish market where I love to shop, & this market offers a variety of goods for all. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and they're always willing to help you with the where to go whether it's shopping or to eat, and I can't forget to mention the hotel also offers a shuttle. So if you're in town for a night or week this hotel is a great choice they have indoor pool as well as a gym. read more

Obviously this is no 4 seasons or 5 star hotel but for the location and circumstances this place is great. My room was spotless and everything worked great. Ac was amazing and cooled and warmed in an instant. Good location for trips in DC if your not looking to stay in that hectic city. Only thing lacking is the breakfast. French toast tasted like a sponge and acted like one as well. Pancakes tasted like rubber but you can always get the cereal or pastry's. I don't even know where to start with this hotel. First, please take my word and pass on staying here. I stayed at this hotel for a wedding we had in Laurel, 2 of my other friends had separate rooms and stayed here as well. Rooms are very, very run down and let me tell you there is nothing clean about them either. All sorts of stains and smudges on the walls. Bathroom had stains as well, toilet didn't look very clean and the flusher barely worked. Saw a few small bugs as well through out my stay near the TV area. I thought we had it bad until my friend called me over to see her room on the 5th floor...white crusted stains all over the carpet (I'll let you use your imagination on that one), you could still see hand prints on the windows. Not sanitary at all. Her mirror in the bathroom was sticking out from the wall as there were 2 very loose screws ...looked like it was going to fall. The hotel doors slam...hard. My fiancé is a deep sleeper and even he would get woken up early in the morning/late into the night from all the door slamming. As expected with most hotels, neighbors will be loud but management did nothing about it. The screaming and loud bass from the music would continue until 3-4am. For the record I'm in my 20's so I get the hotel partying but this was taken to the next level and again...no one did anything to even attempt to quiet the noise. This hotel has roaches, nats, and poor internet connections. The shower leaks and it gets water everywhere. My kids don't feel comfortable in this room and I don't recommend this hotel to anyone in the maryland area. There are yellow stains on the mattress so if your children are pissing through the mattress then do better America. This is unprofessional in the highest manner but do what you want. The ac doesn't work? double tree do you want us to be heat deprived. The variety of tv channels is dry I don't want to watch infomercials on glasses. I've stayed here twice. The rooms are fine but the hotel staff is rude, from the second you start talking. Everything is a burden to them. Want a receipt? Big sigh, few words, no pleasantries. Not even close to what I was expecting. The dude working the front desk seem to have an attitude any time you spoke to him. You could catch him often times hanging out on the couch in the lounge watching TV. The pictures for the rooms from the website were extremely deceiving. Definitely not what I was expecting. They were outdated. The room did not have a refrigerator. The majority of the power outlets in the room did not work. We didn't have a "Do not disturb" sign. When we asked for one, we were told that we would have to wait because they didn't have any extra. The hotel binder that comes inside the room was completely destroyed, and the pages were just stuffed inside. Let's not forget the $15 person breakfast buffet. I would never ever stay at this hotel again, even if it was the last one I could choose. read more

We had a miserable stay. The hotel Is run down and in poor condition. Checked in for two nights but left after one miserable night. We were assigned a room on a floor with a large group of middle school girls who were unruly and loud and unsupervised. We began calling the desk before 11:00pM and the desk attendants were rude and unhelpful. One came to our room and he seemed angry he got sent to us and upon arrival claimed there was no noise. Unbelievable! Completely uncaring and unhelpful staff who had zero hospitality professionalism and zero training. We strongly suggest guests choose another hotel. It is remarkable that this place is in the Hilton chain. No Hilton Honors Member should go anywhere near this property. The hotel staff was the rudest and most unprofessional "hospitality" workers we have ever encountered. They could all care less and they are not bashful about coming off that way. There's a great restaurant attached, EJ's Provisions, that serves exceptional crab cakes and great raw bar, so you don't have to leave the premises for a nice dining experience. Beautiful hotel, sparkling clean, high-end bedding, Hilton style. I'm only giving it 4 stars because, for the first in my traveling life, (I've traveled extensively) there is no complimentary coffee in the lobby, not in the morning, not ever. Not even pre-covid. Never. $2 a cup they charge you!! There is a little coffee maker in the room, but that's not the point. Other than that, we enjoyed our evening after being on a motorcycle for 8 hours. read more
