Good rates I planned to stay here upon arrival and right before leaving Burlington. The first night was good. The gym was a decent size. When I arrived for my 2nd night, I was told that my reservation was being transferred to another hotel in the area. The front desk told me they emailed me. I'm not sure why they would email vs. call me. After driving for several hours, I found this to be a little frustrating. Lighting in parking lot could be improved. What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be. We stayed here back in 1985 when it was a Howard Johnson Inn. It had really run down. But today we were greeted by Harry (he is from India so his English is great but heavily accented) who made us welcome right away. Our room was spotless and well appointed with a small frig and microwave as well as numerous outlets for charging phones etc. A small nook with coffee,tea or hot chocolate was located by the small convince shop. The morning breakfast included hot eggs, omelets and bacon or sausage as well as breads, bagels and cereal. I would recommend this if you are looking for a quiet place to rest if your travel takes you to Burlington Vt area. Harry will see you are taken care of. read more

I stayed here while visiting Burlington for the night. This is about a 15 minute drive to downtown BTV where all the action is, but you do have an abundance of big box stores and chain restaurants near the hotel. Full disclaimer, I stayed here with a friend that had access to a corporate discount, so we only paid about 1/3 of the retail price. So of course for that price, I was very pleased with the experience here. The employees working here were friendly and efficient. I had forgotten a toiletry at home and the woman at the front desk gave me it for free. We spotted a bunch of Green mountain coffee canisters when we arrived at 3 PM, but ALL 6 of them were empty. I was able to make a hot chocolate though. They did have some delicious citrus infused water available by the front desk, so that was handy. As you walk in, there is a connect and print area, so that is handy incase you forgot a document! The lobby was clean and nicely kept up. Breakfast was provided for free, so that's a good perk. I'd describe food as average, but it's always nice to not have to spend $ on an extra meal for the day. They did have a decent assortment of breakfast items. There is a corner market here that sells items like medication, snacks and frozen pizzas. I was happy with the room, it was modern and we had enough outlets for our ipads and iphones. The bed was comfy. The room also features a dorm room fridge and microwave, plus a coffee maker. You should be able to get some java in the lobby though, the canisters were filled the next morning. Nice assortment of mid level toiletries in the room. Overall a good stay! read more

Fairfield inn by Marriott Burlington was a pleasant stay. I stayed here for a couple of nights on the weekend. It was a good experience. I had booked a couple of rooms for me and my friends. The rooms were clean. The queen beds were comfortable to sleep on. The room had a microwave and a small fridge. There was a coffee maker in the room with a couple of different flavors. I'd recommend to get coffee from the lobby downstairs since that was more delicious. The bathroom had a walk in style shower and the sink was outside the bathroom. The TV in my opinion needs a refresh. It was perfectly usable and had a few channels that they have subscribed but, a smart TV would've been better. Due to this ongoing pandemic, the hotel had some services restricted like for example, breakfast. They had to-go boxes which had a fruit (apple/ orange) a bottle of water and a granola bar. They also had packed foods like milk, cereals and yogurt. The typical juices and coffee machines were all good and restocked from time to time. The staff was super friendly and polite. The hotel had all the COVID precautions in place which was good to see. All the typical things that one expects from a Marriott branded hotel is all up to the mark. read more

Just a bad experience all around... the room smells a bit musty, some of the channels on the small-ishTV don't work and it looks fairly rundown. I had to go to the desk to get another roll of toilet paper, since there was only half a roll when we got here. Speaking of room service, unless you make an appointment, they don't clean the rooms during your stay. I was told this when I went to the desk and asked why it hadn't been cleaned. This is completely unacceptable. We had been out from 10 and got back at around 3:30. I was looking forward to relaxing for a bit but it was exactly as we left it. As for the breakfast, quite mediocre. There are egg sandwiches you can heat up in the microwave, cold cereal and flavorless packaged muffins and some yogurts, and a handful of fruit. Coffee was OK... I'm not usually so negative, I always try to be reasonable but if I'm spending around $190 a night for this, it's just not worth it. read more

We booked a two night stay and ended up having such a great time in the area we added a third night to our stay. The hotel staff upon check in was very friendly and welcoming in the middle of the night after a long drive in a torrential downpour / storm. The kind lady gave us our key cards and early morning breakfast information and we headed upstairs to go to bed. The room was very clean and orderly. The bead were super comfy and had plenty of different pillows. We slept in late our first morning and the maids were kind enough to not visit the room until after we had vacated the room to go on our local outing. The hotel breakfast is pretty accommodating, they have a little something for everyone to choose from. They have a hot beverage bar with coffees, teas, and hot cocoa as well as a juice machine, plus milks available. The hot breakfast offerings include two kinds of meats, two kinds of eggs, waffle makers, hot oatmeal, toasters for bagels , breads and English muffins. They had a small area for cereal, muffins and danishes. There was also a selection of hard boiled eggs, three different kinds of yogurts, and a loose fruit basket area. The breakfast staff were friendly and accommodating to any questions and very attentive to when foods ran out they replenished them quickly. The turnover was quick and help yourself style as people swished in and out of the area on their way out for the day. We sat and looked over our maps and area information guides as we ate breakfast. Enjoyable little spot to plan the day. Encountered pilots, flight attendants, families, couples old and young all very happy to be enjoying the breakfast selections and be on their way. Great location for outings in the Burlington area and surrounding areas. Right off the exit with gas and stores nearby, restaurants and even a movie theater if you are looking for things to do or need to pick up various toiletries and travel needs. We decided to come back another time for sure for another fun trip. read more

This is not your typical Marriott property. You might as well stay at a Pilot or Loves truck stop. When you drive into the parking lot all the spaces are pretty much taken up by semis, bobtails or full truck/trailers. If your wearing heels or dress shoes it is extremely unsafe as the parking lot is mostly unplowed from previous storms and frozen over. You can't help but not smell like smoke walking into hotel due to all the smokers standing outside smoking their cigarettes. There is a reason why the hotel rates are the cheapest in the area as it is more of a truck stop than hotel. Do yourself a service and skip this property as there are multiple other Marriott properties in the area with much better ambiance. To bad this hotel has fallen on hard times due to COVID-19 which is no excuse, just poor management. read more

About 45 minutes later another guest entered the room where my wife and daughter were staying. Staff had incorrectly coded his room and given him a card key and our room number as his own. Luckily he was allowed to exit without suffering grievous harm. "Back away from the room and keep your hands where I can see them...." Our card keys then stopped working - no access to room. Staff resolved their error. And apologized. Black munge on ceiling above one of the two queen beds. Something happened in the room above ours.... Toilet seat loose as a bumper car at a county fair. There's good news and bad news. The bad news, if your flight is late to no fault of your own and you call the hotel after 11 p.m. or you have to leave before 7 a.m. to get to the airport, you'll have to pay $15 +tip for QuickCab to come get you. The good news, it's a clean, comfortable, there's coffee available 24/7 and Sandy at the front desk is a rock star. She made sure that at least one of the cab fares was on the hotel. She was attentive, remembered us a week later and had hailed a cab to get us to the airport. Way to go Sandy, and thanks! read more

This is a pretty standard Fairfield Inn, except that it's a bit more run down than most. Wallpaper is a 1980s yellow/beige, furniture is dented and stained, and the air conditioning struggles to get the room to 70 degrees when it's 77 out. The common areas were also uncomfortably hot, and the entire hotel smelled like cigarettes. The front desk staff was friendly though, and accommodated my request for an early check-in. I would stay here again, but it's overpriced for what it is. read more

I am a Marriott Bonvoy member. I travel frequently for business. I usually have very good experiences with Marriott hotels. BUT...this particular experience is a zero star for me. Room was "sticky/humid" and smelled like mold and cigarettes. There was hair, wasn't mine, on the bathroom floor. Hmm....what else might not have been cleaned? Absolutely not up to standard. I was given the opportunity to move rooms. However, it was very late, I had unpacked some and I had to catch a taxi at 4AM I was told 2 times that "management" would reach out to me to address my complaint. I'm usually not a Fairfield fan for the Marriotts, but this is my #1 Fairfield I've stayed at and I will be back. I usually stay at the Marriotts in south Burlington or downtown Burlington, and this one was just as efficient as the rest- especially for the price! The people here are great - shout out to Joshua at the front desk. He was super friendly and gave a lot of great recommendations for all around Vermont. The rooms are also much more spacious than the other hotels I've stayed at in the area (I was in a king room). And they have refrigerators and microwaves and a nice sized gym. The location is also something I enjoyed. I've never been to Williston and I love the bigger shops in the area to walk around at. For the price you really can't beat it. Super friendly, it's clean, and a very chill location but close to the action! read more

Easy access to Williston and Burlington area. The only downside is the location. It is very difficult to get out the parking lot because of the busy traffic on the road. If you have to get to meetings during rush hour might be worth paying more to go to a hotel more centrally located. This particular location offers a free continental breakfast: generic tea selection, standard coffee fare with take away option score!, mini donuts, a waffle machine, cereals, bagels, etc. *For those more health conscious there's a good supply of fresh bananas, syrupy fruit cups, light and fit yogurts, ham egg and cheese quiche, and granola. Don't get too excited about the quiche, it's microwave-style, eat at your own risk! Theres a place for circling an expiration date, and the one I picked up didn't have any circles. *Try to hit up breakfast at the crack of dawn or after the 8-8:15 am rush. The room feels cramped with each table full of young kids or older travelers. Free wireless. The room should come with a small coffee maker, desk with an internet keyboard for the TV, better artwork than you'll usually see, plenty of lighting, enough outlets for computers (if you're in a double room find the outlet behind the nightstand with the alarm clock), a reading chair, smallish tv, and four drawer dresser. Carpets in these places tend to be depressing, but theirs are patterned with a more contemporary limey green cross pattern in the rooms that coordinate with the bedding accents. *Don't worry! A generous supply of white fluffy pillows await you. For the ladies, the vanity is separate from the the shower tub combo and toilet. The mirror is a generous size, decent makeup lighting, although counter space is limited. You'll find a supply of *pantene pro-v products and a built in hair dryer. A small open closet is available with hangers, an ironing board set, and the option of same day laundering and dry cleaning. The cons to my particular visit: Not very many. If you don't mind driving, Burlington isn't very far. If you need to be in the action then this is not the place for you. read more

We finally got a good look around: *clean comfortable bed* musky room * damp carpet in front of ac * peeling ceiling paint * peeling lamp * black mold on shower ceiling *non working bathroom vent* *unknown red substance splattered on the wall behind the door * no TV guide * leftover garbage in can from last guests * peeling hallway carpet molding hanging down to the floor* We were literally too exhausted to switch rooms and I had to get up very early in the morning. Thank goodness we only were staying for one night. I don't see how this place has the title of Fairfield or Marriott in it. Started with an employee smoking at the entrance and throwing her butt out right in front of the entrance. Very classy way to welcome us! There were lots of cigarettes on the ground. Room and halls smelled of smoke and must. Room was past it's prime. Peeling ceilings, dirty/dusty trim everywhere, no trash in bathroom, no ceiling fan in bathroom. Definitely not the Marriott quality one should expect. There are too many places to stay to ever consider that place again. read more

Can't Recommend!!! If you will be visiting the Lake Champlain area I cannot recommend this hotel. We were there for 4 nights, part of a New England Road Trip. We had a terrible stay at this hotel! Luckily we were not here much because of sight-seeing. Upon entering the room it smelled musty, like dirty wet socks. I knew that meant poor air conditioning. I called the front desk who said they were sold out but they couldn't change the room. It didn't appear sold out?? We were told not to put the temp to the lowest, that is how it works best. But the air flow was minimal. They said someone would check it, then no one was available. Bottom line we never heard back from the front desk. Each day that smell greeted us in the room!! The room not equipped with a luggage rack for your suitcase. We asked and received one. Our tub had no grippers on the bottom, we almost slipped and were afraid to move in the shower. Husband and I are in our 60's. We reported it to the front desk and they said they would bring a mat, no mat. Shower curtain bar curved and angled down so low we couldn't get shower curtain closed unless we got the magnets just right and hooked the ends while trying not to slip. We minimally showered because of that problem. Then one morning went to take our chances in the shower, no liner!! We called and the next day they did put the liner back on and rehung the bar. Then our last day at the hotel we arrive back an bed not made. Towels hung, shower bar rehung, but they couldn't make up our beds??? We loved the area but I would recommend to stay anyplace but here. We used our points which we had been saving up to stay here, 25,000 a night. We used 100,000 points to stay there! Were we not a valued customer because we used points??? read more

The most disgusting part of this hotel is the internet service.... it crashes MANY TIMES per hour.. it drops to HORRIBLE speeds, like 1mbs and then goes to 3mbs.... i have the 3x internet power PAID option and its ALWAYS crashing and slow.... cant do anything with wifi... I'm so happy I'm writing from my room right now! I haven't been here in a while (maybe 4 years - I used to come a lot), and it's much better than I remember. First of all, huge shout out to staff - front desk (Hannah) is fantastic, the housekeeper I met at my door this morning was helpful and cheerful when I asked a question, and the breakfast attendant was so nice (got to breakfast after it closed, but she got me breakfast anyway!). That's 3 for 3! Rooms are very nice and appointed with everything I need (TV, microwave fridge, coffee station). Internet is very strong. Slept like a baby. Cold out, but warm inside and was able to control my room's temperature to exactly as I needed it (that's usually the worst!!!, but here the best!!!!). Shower and bathroom looks new to me. Plenty of entrances for easy access to rooms. And the complimentary breakfast (even though I was late lol) was very good. I expected "competent" from my past experiences. The rooms obviously got an upgrade and the management did too. I got "excellent" instead. Exceeded my expectations. I don't travel here as much as I used to, but when I come back, I'm coming here. read more

I had a wonderful stay at the Fairfield Inn Burlington Williston. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by Becky at the front desk, who was friendly and helpful. She checked us in quickly and answered all our questions. We immediately felt at home with their festive (but not too over-the-top) holiday decorations and, even better, their free chocolate chip cookies! The fitness center was roomy and clean, with nice equipment. A good place to work off all those calories from eating all those free cookies! Speaking of free food...the complimentary breakfast was pretty good, too! Plus, they keep it open just a little bit later than they say they're going to, which is great for late risers like me ;-) All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming through the Burlington area. My favorite travel experiences are when you're treated like a local, by friendly and knowledgeable professionals. From the second we pulled into the ample parking lot, we were treated like old pals, with the staff showing us their large and comfortable dining area with a bevy of complimentary breakfast options running until 9am, as well as a 24 hour tea and coffee center with a handful of extras. We took advantage of both, as we wanted to get out to see the sights and sounds such as the Ben and Jerry's Factory Tour, just a few minutes down the road, as well as tons of familiar dining options just down the street. Our room was spacious, and comfortable with all the amenities you'd need, like a brand new TV, a cold fridge, and a colder A/C. To top it off, check-out was a breeze -- Can't wait to come back! read more

Arrived at the hotel tonight to find a substantial part of the hotel under complete renovation. That's great, but as a Marriott Rewards member I feel I should have been made aware of this situation. Not only are the photos completely misleading, I feel it is downright dishonest. I am traveling with my family, including five children. We have 2 rooms reserved and can no longer cancel the reservation without paying for our rooms. There are construction vehicles and trailers in the parking lot. The main entrance can not be used - we have to enter through side doors. The "lobby" is a guest room. You can not walk on the tiling on the first floor without seeing your footsteps because of all the dust. Just arrived back from having a nice dinner with my family in Burlington and there are what I believe to be construction workers sitting around in the parking lot. They appeared to be on a break and sitting around a grill. There is also a strange odor floating through the air in the parking lot. If you've ever been to a concert you'll know what I mean. To be fair, there were a few other people hanging out in the parking lot, so I can't be sure it came from the construction workers. That's at 9:00pm in the evening. I don't feel completely safe with my family in this situation, but on a limited budget I don't see any alternative to this situation. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel until you are certain their renovation is complete. Don't expect them to tell you about it - because they won't, whether you're a Marriott Rewards member or not! read more

This place is great. It's no five star hotel but it's very clean neat and tidy. The staff are incredible and very accommodating. Extremely friendly staff and clean rooms. The free breakfast every morning is decent as well. Free WiFi throughout hotel and in rooms with an onsite fitness center. read more
