I stayed here while traveling out of town for work. It's my first time to Somerset and I came here because I usually can trust a Marriott! This hotel was very clean and the staff was very nice. The room was large and the bed was super comfortable, which I know everyone appreciates after a long travel day! The location was super close to where I needed to be as well. They do have free breakfast included which I didn't personally get, but it looked like they had decent options. I will definitely stay here again when I come in for work. read more

Pleasantly surprised! Stayed here for two nights for a wedding with my family of 4. The suite was spacious and clean. Housekeeping staff and front desk staff were all courteous and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was nice with many options to choose from. This space was also clean and well-stocked. The fitness area was nice and has 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals and free weights. If I could give a negative rating to this hotel, I would. Nothing like being told by the kid working the front desk that what works for every other Marriott doesn't work here. We are platinum Marriott members and stay all over the country in Marriotts and this was embarrassing on so many levels. He had trouble understanding that we needed pillows and a top blanket for the pull out and was abusive to our children. I've never been spoken to by Hotel staff like this person spoke to us and he lacked any understanding of customer service as he tried to lecture me about his two years of experience. If you have the opportunity to stay at a hotel in Somerset please choose another or you will have to be treated like a second class citizen. Marriott should de-flag this hotel. read more

Fairfield Inn & Suites Somerset advertise this hotel as recently renovated, and to some extent, this is true. But there were numerous issues during our stay. The first issue we encountered was with the Internet. We couldn't connect from any device. I called the front desk and they tried to connect me with Allbridge, their Internet support vendor. That call didn't connect. Then I called the front desk and got the Allbridge direct number and tried it twice, without success. Not to be deterred, I went to the front desk, stopping by the two dedicated public PCs in the lobby. Neither of those worked. I spoke with two people at the front desk, who were both very polite and interested in helping. They said they had been having Internet problems and complaints for several hours, but Allbridge said they would fix it. I told them the entire hotel was down, no Internet service. So, I called Allbridge from my cell phone while at the front desk (better connection in the lobby), and explained they needed to reboot the router, or reconnect the router to their ISP (I can talk geek). After chatting with them for about 10 minutes, they "rebooted the access point" and the Internet was finally working. During our stay, the Internet continued to work, but never using login screens, it was resolving as an unsecure network. Other issues during our stay included: - Bathroom sink not draining properly (very, very slow) - Fussy temperature control with shower - Safe didn't work correctly - Bathroom fan didn't work - Smaller TV, unable to change HDMI input settings There were some positives: + Large studio suite was very good + New carpeting + New wall covering + Comfortable bed Would I stay here again? Likely so, as the other options in the area don't seem any better! read more

Stayed here for about 2 months on an out of town project. All the employees were top notch. Christian especially was extremely helpful and very friendly. I found the rooms and beds to be very comfortable and clean. Their housekeepers definitely take pride in their work. The breakfast bar offers the standard breakfast fare at hotels. My family stayed here for a night to get all my apartment stuffs settled down. The room was clean and spacious, and all of us slept very well! It was located farther away from where I'll be living in the future, but I appreciated that it was away from all the traffic, and not needing to pay for parking was a plus as well! Everyone working here is super friendly and nice! There's a continental breakfast in the morning and the waffles are delicious with the strawberry topping. :] A gentleman who works there (Samir) made them for me--he is a super nice soul, and we had a lovely stay here! P.S. There are cookies (free!) at the counter. They are super tasty, and available in chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and M&M. You should have some if you stay here. read more

If you're looking for a place to stay in Somerset, NJ, this place is a good option! The rooms are all suites and are quite spacious. Breakfast was included and is quite expansive-- eggs, toast, pastries, oatmeal, fresh fruit and much more! I thought the service was great, especially the shuttle drivers who were very friendly and helpful! I was especially impressed when I was in desperate need of safety pins and the front desk employees went above and beyond and were able to find me a pack of large safety pins, perhaps from a local store. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and if I ever find myself in Somerset again, I would definitely return! Tip: They don't tell you this when you check in, but in order to get onto the wifi, you need to go to Red.com while on the free WIFI and connect there. The absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. The lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude and cold. I called after checkout because I left my expensive bridesmaid dress in my hotel room. The woman immediately said there was nothing she could do, spoke over me, and gave me attitude. No apologies, no offers to help, absolutely nothing. I called a second time a few days later to ask if anything turned up and was met with the same rudeness and lack of care. After a long 11 hours drive in from Indianapolis, we were thankful to find this hotel. We arrived at 3AM and the Manager is amazingly helpful and kind. I found the staff to be friendly and courteous. The room we had was a double queen suite which was plenty for me, my husband and daughter. The complimentary breakfast was very good and included a waffle maker for a hot breakfast option. The lobby bathroom and hallways were clean. We had a room on the back side of the hotel facing the woods, so it was very quiet. The temperature in the room was perfect and the bedding very nice. Make sure to pay for anything from the front desk mart in cash. If you tell the front desk to bill your room, they will forget to, and then accuse you of stealing, and then call your room in the middle of the night to threaten you with the police. And if you think you can go to the front desk after to explain that they've made a mistake, they will not only get loud, rude, and ghetto with you, but they will try to call the cops again to get you out of there rather than hearing their guests out. I speak out of experience The customer service and management is slothful, indolent and flat out disrespectful. Tony at the front desk didn't add my mart purchase to the bill causing us almost to get forcefully ejected (even after I came up to them and they gave me the heads up that I was good to go). Their colleague kept referring to my partner as Mr. Toyota (he was wearing a Toyota hat, and for a service worker to refer to him as such while staring at his name on a computer screen is beyond condescending). She then clocked out and said "customer service my a** , I'm going home and getting drunk" (her words). And Eli was the last front desk employee we had this altercation with; whose manager claimed to see me dump "stolen items" (items that should've already been on my bill) behind the building. He was unbelievably stubborn to my side of the story, considering he wasn't there prior to the purchases, and was still threatening to call the cops again over THEIR careless mistakes. Never even gave me the managers number who was making the allegations to begin with. So, what now. We went to sleep at 6am because of all the arguing. This tells me the workers were bored! Also the smell of smoke by the employee entrance tells me that too. On top of all this madness, the housekeeping barges into our room at 9:30 am to check if we were still there, with the 'do not disturb' sign on our door and all. No sleep. It was a vacation night of hell. DONT STAY HERE. WORST WAY TO SPEND YOUR MONEY. I didn't like when I walked into the room that the temperature was set to 65 degrees and it was very cold in the room. On the second day I was there I left the room at 7:30AM and returned at 5:30 PM. The room was not cleaned and the bed was not made. Really? I don't think I ever had that issue at any hotel I ever staid at. I tried to stream a move and it would stream with the wifi they provide. I called and they said it should. They said they would reboot the "system" (I am sure she meant router) and it should stream. It didn't. read more

Bed bugs. It looks nice on the outside but after sleeping in the bed for under 3 hours I woke up with severe bedbug bites all over my face and arms. Will never stay again please be advised before you make the same mistake. The also where on my clothes after my journey home despite changing meaning they are in the carpets of the hotel infested. This is the worst stay at a hotel I have ever experienced. It was my first time staying at Fairfield Inn & Suites on April 22, and it will be my last. The hotel management allowed a party to continue all night in the hotel lobby until 6:00am in the morning . The partygoers were very loud and played loud music. There was no regards or respect for other hotel guests trying to get to sleep. Even when we called the front desk, which we were informed that they would say something to the revelers, however, the manager lied to us, because it never stopped. Smh, what a waste of money on this property, could not get any sleep. I also requested an extra blanket and they refused to provide one. I'd return to this hotel! The two girls at the front desk were very helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making sure I was happy! The lobby was clean and inviting and breakfast is included! My room was spacious with one of the largest bath tubs I've ever seen. Everything in my room was nice and it was clean and smelling fresh too! Two TV's, king size bed, lots of room and I was actually impressed. Everything I needed and wanted was there - fridge, micro, coffee pot, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, tea - like I said, impressed. Towels were soft clean and perfectly white. The fitness room was adequate and I'd return for sure! Just don't send or recommend anyone going to Ruby Tuesdays down the road any more! Clean modern rooms. We stayed in room 318. The bed was comfortable and they gave various pillows in different firmness levels. The Bathtub was deep and large. Nice for soaking if you have the time. We were there for a local wedding and we were well treated. Would def recommend them. read more

Only stayed for a short time but I think we stayed in a deluxe suite booked by a family member. We had a large room with two double beds and a living area. The place was relatively clean, not much more you could ask for from a hotel. Also, there is complementary breakfast for guests every morning. This includes some eggs, bacon/sausage, muffins and other common breakfast items. It gets busy on weekends. It was kind of hard to find, however. Stayed here over Memorial day weekend in 2015. There were no surprises or issues during our stay. The breakfast was the typical buffet style setup which was included in our rate. They have free internet and a small workout room but no swimming pool. Overlooks a big corporate business parking area. Easy access to the freeway and quiet area during the weekend. Since most of these hotels are "cookie cutter" and resemble each other for the rate ($90-$130), I do not have high expectations. Clean, organized, good front desk and free parking is what I am used to and this place met those expectations. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. It was only over night but it's a very nice hotel. We got a 2 queen bed standard room but you could call it s suite. There was even a separate sitting area with couch and tv. The room was clean and very spacious. The best part is the free breakfast. They have quite a spread. Good customer service. I was there for a wedding and they provided a free shuttle back and forth to the venue running every 10-15 minutes. read more

The general manager is truly disgusting. She was offended to see that my son have a handicap. Although, he said or did nothing to her, she was offended. The maids have a nasty attitude, they do not clean properly. Front desk rep are not friendly. The cops are always disputing a issue between a guest and a staff member. I'm not sure if they are running a hotel or jail? With all these problems the GM is offend by handicap people. This place is a joke. Whoever stays, you have my condolences! read more

I find this location to be odd as there are probably 2 hotels in each direction you go. There isn't too much going on here except for hotels, businesses, a nearby Shoprite, Subway and few other places. This was actually just recently bought out by Marriott but I've only stayed here when it was still Fairfield Inn. I stayed in the honeymoon suite which was pretty good. It had one living room and one bedroom with a king or queen size bed (I forget) but it was extremely, extremely comfortable. I slept like a baby especially with the shades pulled down. There was a jacuzzi in the living room which was nice except for the fact that the tv was all the way to the left. I'm assuming the jacuzzi was placed after the hotel was built but it would have helped to do some rearranging. Another criticism is that all their tvs are old, therefore lacking hdmi and good quality. Also, for those that are not morning people, there is no brunch, just breakfast which starts from something like 5-9am. Unsurprisingly, I did not make it, although, I did wake up in time but just couldn't move my body to get up. bed. too. comfortable. I'm not sure if I would go come here again, as it is expensive but I've past by it several times and they seem to be doing better now that they are Marriott. Just my few cents. read more
