First time in Savannah and didn't know what to expect. We booked this hotel cause it was on the cheaper side and didn't have a huge historic district parking fee. There is a parking garage attached to the hotel. FYI park on the floor you are staying and you can walk up 4 stairs and onto your floor. Parking is tight if you have a truck. Staff was very helpful gave us recommendations for things to try in the historic district. Seems like if your looking for a tour you have to start at the Savannah information center. The room was clean but could use a little TLC in the bathroom. The included breakfast was turkey sausage patties, quiesh, waffles, 3 different cereals, bagels, toast, 3 different beverages, O.J., cranberry, and blueberry. The room was about $140 per night. FYI there are resort fees alot of Georgia taxes and fees after room charges, but not enough that we wouldn't stay here again.

Great hotel only about 4-5 miles from downtown!! I only stay at Marriott hotels I love the complimentary breakfast and big clean rooms. The front desk associate was very nice so great customer service. Lobby was nice and clean as well as our room. This hotel has a parking garage for guest only the parking is $12 which isn't bad at all compared to downtown parking. The rooms have Netflix thank goodness lol and it has prime too. The tv was a little small but it worked. Overall rate: 9/10

This place really surprised me. We were only stopping in Savannah shortly, so we just needed a convenient place to stay. Nothing too expensive, just somewhere close to the city. A little under 20 mins from Savannah's historic district, and a beautiful drive through the city's suburbs, this Fairfield Inn was just perfect. We arrived at 3am and were checked in by the kind staff. Our suite was spacious, spotless, and with huge windows facing the beautiful Savannah architecture. We also got to meet the manager -- staff here is really great. The parking was also extremely convenient and I do wish more hotels did it like they do it here -- you can park on the floor you're staying at and easily get to your room for $12 a night. Amenities included free breakfast, fitness center, and a pool. Marriott members with status can get late checkout (we got 4pm) and even a bottle of hot sauce or points when checking in, depending on the status. Would definitely recommend this place! Also, there's a bus nearby that goes straight to the historic district of Savannah, in case you're without a car.

Stayed here two separate times in two weeks. First time everything was good. Second time my room was more expensive and much less nice. Room smells like cat piss and the A/C barely works. I watched people plug in their Tesla and then walk over to the hotel next door. They blocked the charger all night and the hotel staff don't care. Really disappointing. Added bonus there are roaches all over the outside of the hotel so if you decide to stay here watch where you step.

I spent two days searching for a hotel to accommodate a brief trip to Savannah. We chose midtown because we wanted parking, but honestly downtown had plenty of street parking. The hotel staff were not immediately available at the front desk. I had to wait about two minutes for someone to appear. The staff isn't very helpful or informative. At least if you work at a hotel, you should know the surrounding or popular areas in the city. The room wasn't very clean...the walls were gross. The pool area was not kept tidy in between swimmers. Food cartons and cups were left the pool. I wouldn't recommend

I'm not very brand loyal, but after a pretty good experience with Fairfield a few years back, I generally look for them first when I am on the road. Not as likely to be individually franchisee owned, but rather held by a group management company, the quality of one's stay is ultra-dependent on how hard the management company works at maintaining the hotel and staff. TMI Hospitality out of Fargo, which holds a gaggle of Fairfields, does an excellent job. They have the one in Roseville, MN that I first stayed at. North Point Hospitality, out of Atlanta, owns and operates the Fairfield Midtown in Savannah. They built this one from the ground up and it opened in 2016. On many levels, there are no noticeable differences from one Fairfield to another. They are generally tastefully decorated, with functional rooms geared to the business traveler, adequate work space, free wifi, comfortable lobby, exercise room, pool (this one was outdoor, but heated) and a pretty comprehensive complimentary hot breakfast, where some items change on a daily basis. Basically, you're going to find fruit, juices, yogurt, waffles, eggs, breakfast meats, biscuits and gravy, breads and danish, muffins, coffee, tea, and milk. One morning there was scrambled eggs and turkey sausage, another cheese omelets and veggie sausage. Pork sausages were available both days. There are the usual accompaniments, condiments, cream cheese, peanut butter, fruit jellies. Some observations, not criticisms, of this hotel. Staff wasn't as welcoming, friendly or helpful as other Fairfields. Let's call that level of service "perfunctory." I object to a parking fee when the ramp/lot is part of the hotel. The parking ramp was poorly designed, and should be re-striped, at least, the slots are too small for most current model cars. Don't even think about taking a big pick-up or van in there. As a testament to the design error, the hotel has taped up strips of foam on the concrete pillars to try and assist you in minimizing the potential damage putting your car in and out of the space. Note if you're making a reservation: rooms with Kings have only a shower. Rooms with two queens have a tub/shower. Not sure why, but that's the layout of this hotel. Speaking of bathrooms, you can clearly hear bath "activities" from adjacent rooms. Breakfast was fine, as described above, but one day was an hour late, without explanation. That's fine if you're a leisure traveler, or one of a group of seniors off the tour bus, but business people and departing guests are apt to be put off by that kind of thing. Pluses? Besides the things I've mentioned, a nice neighborhood, about 4-5 miles from downtown, shops (including two groceries) and restaurants within walking distance, city bus stops at the front door. Appreciate the outdoor pool was heated to a very comfortable level. I'd stay again. FYI. Shop hard online for rates. I discovered I was paying 30-40% less than many other guests.

Greetings, I recently booked two rooms at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Savannah, Ga (Midtown) in order to attend my graduation from Ga Southern University. Here is a recount of my disappointing experience: We arrived late, probably 11 pm. When I pulled sheets back in room 825, there was an ant in the bed I called front desk, they brought me new sheets but told me I needed to change them because they were the only ones here. I changed the sheets myself Left at 10 am to attend my graduation. Room wasn't clean when we returned at 6:30 pm After we called and requested to have someone clean, we came back up an hour later to.... Pillow still on floor Towel still on floor Shower still not clean Trash still on floor in bathroom Trash still not taken out Bed made, but it looked like it was made by a toddler...unkempt, fitted sheet was not tucked Sheets were not changed All of this was seen by the manager Wanda, she came and cleaned it herself at 7:50 pm While she and a few others were I n here cleaning, an ant was crawling on my mom's arms. We were immediately moved to another room. I'm so disappointed.

We rarely stay in hotels (often preferring the Airbnb route), but we were having a hard time finding something that was the right fit. We ended up opting for this Fairfield Inn and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. It felt warm and inviting, the staff and check in process were smooth and wonderful. Also, if you happen to be a credit card rewards member, we got our parking comp'd and room upgraded, which was an unexpected bonus and made me realize I need to take advantage of those perks more often. The room was spacious, it was quiet and cozy. The continental breakfast was also decent with a variety of options like eggs, waffles, fruit, english muffins, etc. After a few days of indulgent eats, it was nice to enjoy something light and filling. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel. Top notch customer service, up-to-date and clean, and a convenient, quick drive to the historic district.

***Update*** This time they honored the floor request, plus we arrived late(however it is a weekday). Also got an upgrade due to our platinum status. As a gold member I'm trying to figure out how our request got ignored and how we got put into a hearing impaired room... I don't care if this is a new location!!! Put some respeck on my rewards status and honor my request!!! Plus they don't have an out door lounge area after 10pm... Uuuuuuugggghhhhh Can I have my money back please???

    This is called hospitality :-)

Huge thank you to Joey, Jackie, Cindi, and Darnell or as I refer to them as the dream team for making our stay so incredible. I hope they promote you all into management. Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Honestly, one of the best beds I have ever slept on. Perfect if you have jet lag. I love that the toiletries have peppermint so you repeal bugs, which is a must in the south. Great alternative if you forget the bug spray. There's a coffee bar, restaurant, and a speakeasy bar that was Alice and wonderland themed. In the afternoon you are offered champagne, which is such a nice touch. Most concerning was that one elevator was out of service for the entire hotel during both visits, creating long waits and inconvenience throughout the stay with the one remaining elevator. This single elevator was used by the staff as well. The hotel itself felt poorly maintained. The carpet in the hallways and rooms appeared dirty, and there was a persistent musty smell that made the property feel old and neglected. The room also did not include coffee, which is a basic amenity most travelers expect from a hotel in this price range. They did offer 2 automatic coffee machines in the lobby area which was nice but inconvenient. The breakfast was another issue. It was a buffet arrangement. The selection was very limited, and nearly everything offered consisted of highly processed food items with little variety or freshness. The second visit had fewer items than the first. Breakfast is included in the room rate so obviously the hotel is looking to find the cheapest way out. It was very disappointing. What made the experience even more frustrating was the valet parking situation. The hotel charges $48 per night for valet parking, yet there is a city parking lot immediately next door charging only about $10-14 per night. The markup felt excessive and unnecessary. The only positive part of our stay was the staff. The employees were consistently friendly, professional, and helpful, and they clearly did their best to work around the flaws in the hotel's systems and maintenance issues. Unfortunately, good service alone could not make up for the overall condition and value of the property. We will not be staying here again. We advise others to do the same. This hotel has long term leases on almost all of level P3 of the Whittaker Street Parking Garage…read more Other private businesses with long term leases on spots mark the spots to inform people not to lark. Andaz Savannah Hyatt does not post signs nor mark the spots nor have any gate or signs to know what part of the garage they leased. Instead have sensors in the unmarked spots and tow without bothering to post any sign. Completely predatory. Sensors cost more than signs. They should put up signs. This is a very unethical dirty hotel that is doing harm to the city and the community. I went to a conference in Savannah, and carpooled with a coworker. We had gone to park at the Whittaker Street Parking Garage. On level P3, we went through an open gate to get in, and then needed a swipe card to get out. Half that floor is marked with "reserved for" signs, hanging from the ceiling and on the wall and concrete support columns by each parking spot. Those were something like reserved for a condo or something, not Andaz. Half is not marked at all. This is like a line down the middle half. The south part of the garage was marked; the north part was not. Line down the middle like 2 sections. Because the half that was marked said towing, my coworker had stayed in the car, and I went to go find the parking attendant to confirm we were parked in a public paid spot. On the street level, the security for Savannah said that where we were parked was OK, and that all reserved spots have to be marked. She told me where to find the parking attendant. The parking attendant said that all reserved spots are marked, and that unmarked spots are for the public paid parking. I went back to the car to tell my coworker that we were good to go. Well, it had taken me easily 20 minutes due to there is one single attendant. Lucky us, because when I got back, an Andaz Savannah Hyatt employee was there with my coworker saying he would towed. Apparently, rather than put up signs in their reserved spots, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt puts sensors pointed at each spot to detect a car, and then orders a tow. A sensor has to cost more than a sign. That's so dirty and immoral to not post a sign, and then to tow people. The two employees of the city and of the parking garage said that that was a public paid spot based on there not being any posted signs that it was reserved. Andaz Savannah Hyatt just cannot be bothered to communicate. They will tow, bill for the tow, mess up transmission on a four wheel drive, and stick that whole mess of theirs onto regular people. Because they can't be bother to even post a sign. Also to leave, we had to drive out an "in" gate, which apparently they leave the "in" gate permanently up for cars to drive through, then have a billing "out" gate that you have to swipe the card and be billed to leave. Like a trap. No signs when you come in, and no signs on their entire half of the P3 level. I am certain what they are doing is illegal, to tow without having any posted signs at all on their half of the garage. When I searched, Georgia law requires 12x18 inch no parking signs or a sign at the gate. Andaz Savannah Hyatt had a permanently open gate for entrance, closed gate for exit, and absolutely no signs on what the employee of Andaz said was the Andaz parking. And said he would have towed if my coworker weren't there in the car. Well, it's travelers and tourists, so Andaz Savannah Hyatt can get away with it, because they rob from people who don't live in the city. They break the law, and harm the community. This hotel is doing dirty. What else are they doing. Nope, nope, nope. Badly run and cannot be trusted. Even if you are not a customer, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt will harm you just for being nearby.

My room was clean and the bathroom was noteworthy for being immaculate - not always the case in the South. Bed was comfortable and the room had all that I needed for a comfortable 3 night stay. My only criticism is the noise level. Even on the 5th floor, the noise from the road was loud. Bring earplugs to drown out the early morning delivery trucks!

I would think that quiet hours for the pool would be 9 PM, but apparently they aren't. I believe they are 10 PM. There was a group of what appeared to be teenagers screaming nonstop for about three hours straight. I don't know, if I was staff at a hotel, I would probably tell them to keep it down after 8 PM, but that's just me. It sounds like the rooms on the other side of the hotel are really noisy as well, so I guess moving and wouldn't have done much. The valet took a really long time in the morning. I wouldn't have minded that if they would have told us in the beginning, but when you check in, they tell you to give them five minutes to retrieve your vehicle. It took the guy 20 minutes to respond to my request (I was first in the queue) and I had to go walk down and grab the car myself because I needed to leave immediately. It sounds like he was managing two properties, so not his fault. When not knowing where the valet was, the front desk wasn't helpful. She kind of dismissed the issue. She did end up calling him, but she didn't act like she cared about our situation at all in the beginning. It actually prompted us to take action and another gentleman waiting for his car went and looked in the valet garage to see if somebody was even there because he was having the same issues. Anyways, my first and last time staying at this hotel. Too many other options in the area. I really need a reliable valet, unfortunately.

The Marshall House has everything you could want for a trip to Savannah!!…read more You couldn't ask for a better location. The Marshall House is located directly on Broughton St near shopping and restaurants, and it's within walking distance of pretty much everything you will want to see! You will barely need a rental car for your trip. Despite being on the main road, I found the hotel to be pretty quiet! The historic inn is beautifully restored. Each room is unique. If you're lucky enough to get a front-facing room on the second floor, you have access to the shared balcony overlooking the street. My room was cozy and comfortable! There are cozy bathrobes in each room. The Marshall House has some unique amenities. They provide bottled water (both cold and room temperature) by the main desk for hotel guests! So great during the summer heat. They also have a complimentary wine and cheese reception every evening in the Library with entertainment (musicians, lectures, trivia, etc.) so make sure to include that in your trip itinerary! Breakfast is also included with the price of the room. Breakfast is served in the atrium off the library. You are seated by the wonderful staff, and then you check off/circle your order on the menu they provide. Breakfast comes off of a buffet, so it's a little odd not to just help yourself, but service is super quick! The Marshall House is in the running for most haunted hotel in the country, but I didn't have any ghost encounters while I was there unfortunately. It was fun to hear the stories of other guests and to learn more about the history of the hotel! I highly recommend staying at the Marshall House if you're looking for a comfortable stay in the perfect walkable location!

The room was lovely and I especially liked the original wood floors throughout. The folks at the front desk were also wonderful. I asked for extra shampoo and conditioner and they were brought up right away, unlike all other hotels where we have stayed who seem to take hours to fulfill requests like this one. As far as hauntings go, the only thing we experienced was a light knocking within the room, and it was just one time. Haunting or not, we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Savannah.

I traveled with my grandfather and they have a complimentary car that took us to the museum of art on a hot day. Rooms: the rooms are gorgeously designed and spacious. Fully stocked mini bar and my view overlooked the pool. Service: The hotel service is wonderful. The restaurants get a lot of local traffic which means the service can get slow. The food is exceptional. The concierge is helpful.

But since then, it seems like no one's paid attention to the details that actually make a stay feel 5-star. We stayed just one night and noticed several things that made the experience feel less than premium: * Curtain was literally held together with paper clips * Bathroom sink barely drained * No "do not disturb" hanger for the door, had to request one * Vacuuming started in the hallway at 7:15am * Gym had beautiful treadmills with screens and free earbuds -- but the internet was down, so none of t worked To their credit, they did offer to send someone to fix the sink... but on a one-night stay, why would I want to spend part of it with someone working on the pipes in my bathroom? That's something that should be checked before a guest ever walks into the room. There were some nice touches: a complimentary car service, wooden room keys, a convenient texting system, and solid amenities (though we didn't use many of them). That said, I couldn't help but feel like we were placed in a neglected room -- possibly because the stay was part of an Amex Platinum perk. And honestly, if I'd paid $275-$400+ out of pocket for this room, I'd be much more upset. Not trying to be petty -- but let's be real: at a true 5-star hotel, I expect a seamless experience where my basic needs are handled without me having to ask. Hotel Bardo, unfortunately, missed that mark.
