We had a great stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Saginaw! When we checked in, Michael at the front desk gave us a very detailed and helpful rundown of everything we needed to know. From start to finish, the entire team was kind, professional, and committed to making our stay as enjoyable as possible--even when there were a few noisy guests, they handled everything with care and consideration. The breakfast layout was excellent, and the kitchen staff was friendly and attentive. A special shoutout to Jessica, who cleaned our room on multiple occasions--she was truly wonderful and made us feel well taken care of. Big thanks to the entire team for their hospitality. I stayed in December 2023. I booked though booking.com and paid through PayPal. Everything was fine. We got to the hotel, and the woman at the desk could not verify my payment because she was having a problem accessing bookings system. The manager was not in so she said that they would charge me and she would sort it out with the manager the next day. It is now June 2024. I have called many times and spoken to many people and nothing is resolved. I recieved an email from the General manager in Feb. saying they were sorting it out and it had happened to a few people. I guess since then they have gone through 5 different GMs and i have not heard anything from any of them or any followups from any of the people I spoke to (even though they all swear they would call me the next day.) I am just astounded that I can not get a refund when I have proof of having paid twice; the last guy said he could see where I paid twice!! I just don't understand and am feeling taken advantage of and ripped off. I will certainly not be staying at any of these hotels again if this is how they prioritize their customers. I'll begin with the positives: The afternoon/evening female staff! They did their best in an almost impossible situation. They were always pleasant and helpful. -When we arrived, one bed had dried, crusted boogers and snot all down the side. -Hair in the bathroom sink -outlets were so lose, plugs were difficult to get to stay in -windows were cloudy -breakfasts were sad- chunky expired white and chocolate milk, fresh fruit consisted of 3 bananas one morning and nothing the second morning, and watery eggs. The prepackaged quiches were the best they had -No ice in the ice machines -ancient loud air conditioner that continually switched on and off ALL NIGHT LONG. read more

I opted to stay here as the room was fairly inexpensive and the other Marriott options were either full or crazy expensive for some reason this weekend. I would give this place one star if it weren't for the friendly front desk and the surprisingly clean room. The halls are a mess and I was fully prepared to see a disaster of a room. But the room was clean which is really all I needed. I'm a little concerned about my safety as the doors don't seem exceptionally secure and some rooms had large gaps in the doors. The employees were friendly and did the absolute best they could w/ our customer service. The breakfast was great. Our room was clean. Unfortunately, despite having reserved a room for three people and communicating multiple times we needed a fold out sofa, two beds or a rollaway - we had to go to Target and BUY an inflatable mattress b/c there were no other options for us. This is a corporate issue that needs to be resolved w the booking system. read more

My experience with the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Saginaw MI was the worst hotel experience I've had. I arrived and tried to check in, only to be told that my reservation had been canceled due to overbooking - not my fault in any way. I was told "you should make other accommodations." I was not offered any help to do so. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told he had gone home. I asked if he could be called, and I was told to pick up his card off the desk and email him (it wasn't even handed to me.) When I insisted he be called, it was reluctantly done, and I wasn't permitted to speak to the manager. The employee at the desk spoke to him, hung up, and then told me the manager had confirmed there was nothing they could do. I was not offered any compensation for this, or help finding another accommodation. I did insist that he be called back. By becoming a nuisance, somehow a room was found for me. I was then late for my meeting. There was only one ice machine. The cable on the TV was unplugged. Only one of the four outlets in the room worked. But mostly, I was treated with no consideration or respect. The casual way my having made a reservation over a month ago was dismissed. I was even told that other guests would be inconvenienced later! read more

Forgot to mention the ice makers all did not work. The breakfast was sandwiches that you buy and microwave at a gas station. This hotel reminded me of a Red Roof Inn circa 1980's and it would be the place all the underage would get a room for a hotel party. I will everything in my power to get this location removed from youth sports tournament recommendation lists. I will share this terrible experience with anyone that will listen. I wish I could say any nice thing, but that is not an option, concerning the establishment. Staff was trying with what they had. If this owner wishes to become A Red Roof or Motel 6 he could make the move tomorrow and become the flagship for them. Very disappointed Marriot allows this to even carry their name. read more

Not great as far as Marriott's go. At check in there was an issue making key cards. Desk staff said our room# out loud. When we got to our room it was right next to the elevator. I had requested away from the elevator. One of our keys wouldn't work in the door. The room looked recently renovated. It had new carpet and smelled and looked clean. Going to the restroom I saw a big crack in the front rim of the toilet as well as a dark long hair. Breakfast was ok, but the room it was in seemed cramped. Tables and chairs too big for the area. For the price of the night I expected more. Last complaint: Marriott must buy the slowest elevators in the industry. This was our second stay in a Marriott in the last month their elevator was also painfully slow. read more

We would definitely stay there again - whoever is in charge of the "little things" that go in the room seemed to put in a lot of thought. Fairfield Inn is a Marriott hotel. 3 Floors, and after reading some of the other reviews, I'm a bit surprised. I stay here on a regular basis, and have never had any problems. The hotel staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are always very clean. They must've had a managment change or recent renovation or something... because I always find it an easy comfortable stay. Like all Marriott's they have fresh sheets, toiletries, coffee maker, and alarm clock. It's centrally located across from the Mall, Target, Wal-Mart, across the street from Starbucks, and about the only thing to make it better would be if BW3 delivered... but they are close enoough to walk! It comes with a continenal breakfast, and like I said... super friendly staff. 4 STARS read more

This was my first trip to Saginaw and I must say, that I definitely chose the right area to stay. It's a decent neighborhood with plenty of shopping and dining choices and it's only about six miles from I-75. I will start with the positives. The staff was very, very friendly. The hotel was also very clean. I had no issues with the cleanliness of my room. The bed was very comfortable. And when I first arrived, there were kids running around and yelling, but that died down about sundown and it was quiet the rest of the night. And it was the right price at $87. Now, the negatives, the biggest one was the A/C would not stay on. It would come on for about two minutes and stay off for about ten minutes. I couldn't even get the fan to stay on. I like it cold and I need the fan noise as well. So that made sleeping difficult. I had to take something to help me sleep. And woke up sweating. The TV, none of the channels matched the descriptions on the channel guide or the information bars. I was trying to find the football games but I had to hunt and find them the old fashioned way. And the parking lot needs a lot of work. It's in very rough shape. It wasn't terrible, but it was far from great. Probably will stay somewhere else if I'm in this area again. read more

If I ever come back to Saginaw, I'm definitely staying here again! The staff was /fabulous/. There was a young blonde haired gentleman working the night we checked in and I was never able to catch his name because his name tag was a little covered, but he was FANTASTIC! So friendly and cheery and just really made our experience great! We were placed in a King Suite room which was so comfortable and cozy that we had a really hard time packing up when it was time to leave! Everything was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the noise level was about average for your standard hotel. I think we had some party-goers down the hall. Breakfast was simple but good! I really have no complaints about this place. Everything about our stay was perfect. read more

When I made a reservation with the hotel, I was treated like royalty and the same with the check in process although there was a waiver that had to be signed that talked about a $250 noise complaint fee if so many numbers of noise complaints were made between 10pm-7am. When we got to the room, it was not cool. Our fridge had a ton of ice build up but it wasn't cold. The bathroom had mildew in the corners. The walls are paper thin and the wall paper in the hallways is dangling off the walls on floor 1. The pool is still down due to parts needed for maintenance and there's one ice machine in the whole hotel that was out of order and on floor one. We were there for a sports tournament with other our entire team. After our games got done, the kids decided to hang out like they normally do and the parents went down in the lobby where we could gather and talk. It was 7pm and still light outside. Our group was told they had received noise complaints about our kids running up and down hallways and that the police we're going to get called (mind you there were other teams there and also prom night, weddings and a few other things that were going on according to front desk). We decided that all the kids could go into one room for bonding time and watch TV (which they did and were perfectly fine) but then we were told again at 8 and then nothing again until 9 that our group in the lobby (the parents) that they had received complaints and that the police were coming to do rounds in the hotel due to checking out underage drinking , prom night and such between our hotel and the other hotel next to us (which wasn't even a Marriott hotel). We said okay and in about 15 minutes after that 4 police cars rolled up and came in and talked to just us in the lobby and never made the rounds up any of the floors or the other hotel (we actually looked) also keep in mind prom was nowhere even close to being done yet. They told us we had to go back upstairs to our rooms or a room or get kicked out according to the hotel staff. They also Let us know that the area was known for drug issues, shootings and more between all the hotels in the area. This is hotel is definitely not at all what Marriott expectations are to be. It's not a family oriented hotel and we will not be back. read more

Lovely stay, customer service is absolute perfection. We felt so welcomed and cared for. The pool is amazing, water is nice maybe 70 degrees and the room is kept really warm, which was so cozy. I think I took a good 2 hour soak. Maintenance guy was stocking supplies and asked if the room temp was ok and asked if I needed anything, so nice. Breakfast was beyond amazing: oatmeal station, eggs, turkey and pork sausage, cereal, waffles, hard boiled eggs, bagels,sweet bread, fruit,etc. so relaxing. read more

Awful place. Old, dingy, bed is so concaved shape. Breakfast is poor. Place not very clean. Residence inn and Springhill suites located next door. The later looks brand new. Stay there instead. FYI... I stay in hotels 4days a week...so I am well experienced in hotels and probably a bit snobby too. But for roughly $100/nite, buy a tent instead...or go to a different place that (like the two Marriot brands next door) Hopefully I never return to the miserable city of Saginaw, but if I do, I will NOT stay here. In fact, I blacklisted it on my company's do not book list which is mostly reserved for bedbug hotels and dangerous hotels. We had a great experience! We booked our room through Expedia, so (full disclosure) it was discounted. We were just looking for a place to stay for about 12 hours and weren't expecting much. It turned out to be very clean, recently updated, and convenient! They included pretty much every toiletry you'd need (even makeup remover pads!), coffee maker, alarm clock, etc. My husband and I thought the bed was really comfortable and the extra pillows were nice. We really enjoyed the included continental breakfast (cinnamon waffles!). We also found the staff to be really helpful and friendly. Right next to the Comfort Inn, Residence Inn and the Springhill Suites hotels. The Springhill Suites is only a couple of years old but much pricier. Located across the street from the Fashion Square Mall, Target, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart and lots of other shopping areas and restaurants. Convenient location. Hotel accommodations are mediocre. Beds are soft and squishy (I prefer firmer mattresses) and the breakfasts are edible. read more

rude staff general manager is rude and unprofessional her refused to do right by my group and then him and his staff refused to give me the phone number to call corporate he hung up on me as well one room smelled like piss and they didnt care another room was the wrong type of room booked a king and got a queen room and they refused to make it right. that room also had dirty nasty shoes and socks so disgusting they where krusty in the closet and smelled so bad that group could not even use the closet. we told the staff about it and they said the next time they clean it (since they only clean the rooms every other day) they would get it but they still left it after cleaning it. staff told that group they would comp the room but upon checking out they didnt and the manager refused to do anything to make things right outside of a $20 credit for being forced to stay in an unsanitary room night staff was good but the rest all need to be fired. i am a very frequent visitor to the saginaw area and this manager could have easily made things right but he refused and just made everything worse. my group will never return to this hotel again read more

I travel for work. And this hotel is the one I stay at exclusively when I am in the area. They are always very hospitable and very accommodating. A few weeks ago I had a family emergency and the hotel manager Erica and the front desk girl, I believe her name was Cassandra, went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I apologize if I got anyone's name wrong. I was seeing through tear soaked eyes. I had to leave early to drive to Indiana to say goodbye to my dying grandmother. Upon hearing I needed to check out early, they made me a care package with water, tea, snickers, almonds, a Clif bar, a full box of tissues, and a phone charger for my car. They were so concerned about me getting to see my grandmother safely. I immediately started crying because I didn't realize people like this still existed. I tell everyone I can about how amazing the team at this hotel is. When I just returned to stay last night, Erica remembered me and asked how I was and welcomed me back. This hotel is the only one I will ever stay at when I'm here in Saginaw. Thank you for renewing some faith and bringing sunshine to my dark week. It is the little things we do. read more
