A little over night field trip to NB. Came down for a pumpkin patch fall festival they were having. Grabbed some dinner, and came to the hotel around 4:30pm was able to check in and get settled in the room. The lady at the desk was super nice. Just a southern friendliness, asking what we are planning. And asked if we already ate dinner. (we had) I guess hotels are starting to charge to park your car in their parking lot. What a racket that is. But fear not Fairfield by Marriott in New Braunfels does not charge. Yeah. Room is nice and clean. They have a larger tv. A queen bed, they have a shower stall, and quality fluffy towels. I've never seen a tv remote control wrapped up in plastic before. Thought that was an extra step for being sanitary. Also saw an add on recycle trash can on the regular trash can. Tomorrow we will check out of the room and continue our field trip away from Austin. Buc-ee's will be a must on the drive back. read more

It is impossible not to rate this place 5 stars. Liz at the front desk booked our reservations and checked us in a month later, Diane and her housekeeping staff are magnificent, and Jean who makes the breakfast and coffee couldn't be nicer. Plus, they offer actual Philadelphia Cream Cheese at their breakfast buffet, not Home Depot caulking, which can be a huge point of contention for me. If you nail the details, you will win the big picture. The only knock was that the room TVs do not get standard channels, so I missed the referees handing yet another AFC Championship to Kansas City last night. read more

We stayed here overnight to spend the day in Gruene! It's close to everything and there are so many great restaurants nearby. Shout out to Cooper's BBQ & Cantina del Rio! We also played pool at Score's Bar & Grill. Check in was a breeze! The ladies at the front desk were very helpful. For the level of hotel this is, it was good. The rooms are a good size. The bed was on the firm side and pretty comfortable. My husband called and asked for extra pillows and they were brought up immediately. Room has a refrigerator, microwave, & coffee station. They provide plenty of body wash, shampoo and conditioner for you if you don't want to bring your own. A decent breakfast is included, and they have Texas shaped waffles! There was scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cheese omelets, Turkey sausage and bacon, English muffins and toast, an assortment of cereal available. No fruit or pastries. On the downside the bathroom needs to be caulked around the shower, there was a strong cleanser smell in the room - but you don't really notice it after awhile, & the furniture isn't overly comfy and there is only one chair to sit in, unless you want to sit in the desk chair. There was highway noise that could be heard but we left the air conditioning fan on and you couldn't hear it over that. All in all we would stay here again for the price. We don't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. read more

Very lovely hotel, the lady Rosa who works at the front desk is one of the nicest people ever. She helped my family and I get a room when we didn't have a reservation and the hotel was full. The rooms were very clean nothing wrong at all. They need to give Rosa a raise!!!!. read more

Staff was very helpful and kind. They gave us an extra hour before checkout with no charge and the maids came by regularly to restock towels and take away trash. Shower was much nicer than I expected, good water pressure and the provided shampoo and body wash were very nice. But the beds were pretty hard for me and the room itself was a little on the small side. read more

Wow is all I can say and not a good wow. This is greed at its finest. Fairfield Inn has disappointed time and time again. Where does the outrageous room rates go??? The rooms look like something from the 70s show, carpet outdated, who's still using wall paper these days honestly ‍, the shower is in need of a makeover, water doesn't get hot (Luke warm at best) goodness I can go on and on. I've visited this brand at least once e a year the past 3 years and I'm done with them. Consistent disappointment. They need to be dropped from Marriott to be honest. As a Titanium member who spends heavily with Marriott every year, I'd expect to never see something this bad. Sadly the room moved too wasn't a substantial improvement smh. It doesn't deserve a single star to be honest. This hotel does not exemplify it cares about its appeal whatsoever. They need to start allowing guest to see these rooms be fore we commit to staying there. This is ridiculous. All these elaborate photos online and the rooms look nothing like the photos. I'll start by saying the front desk experience was terrific, the assistant manager was working and was extremely friendly and courteous upon check-in. My low review is mostly over the maintenance of the property. On the surface it looks fairly new and modern - but upon entering our room there was a distinct smell of mold/mildew. Upon inspection of the bathroom there was mold growing along the top of the wall near the ceiling - and throughout the shower stall, specifically in the caulking. The shower also had nearly zero water pressure. We made the decision to leave two days early and move to the nearby Courtyard, which is a huge step up in quality and experience - and a way better location (for about the same money). With some serious maintenance attention this Fairfield could be a decent value, but as it stands I won't ever stay again. Mold is a big flag for me, and it was hugely visible to the housekeeping staff. read more

I have relatively spartan expectations of Fairfield Inn properties but was pleased with the quality, cleanliness, and service. Check in was a breeze, my room was clean, up to date, and well stocked. I would venture to say better maintained than $300 a night properties I've stayed in recently. Breakfast in the morning was basic but plentiful. Wifi speeds were good and reliable in both the room and common areas. One thing that really impressed me was the kindness shown by the hotel's management to their staff. I was getting coffee while new members of the cleaning crew were arriving and being onboarded. Each was personally welcomed and acknowledged by the manager on duty and the head of housekeeping. So often the most vital parts of the hotel operation aren't treated respectfully. I have to believe that treatment drives the great state of the rooms. read more

Hands down Amazing hotel!!! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond for me and my family. Never have I ever had such great hospitality before. In the middle of everything going wrong with our move they have made things perfect beyond words. The first shift lady that checked us in forgive me for forgetting there names. But she was the best everyone calls her Momma there at work she was training a new front desk lady that just started from out of town. She couldn't of made things any easier. I was speechless after the great hospitality and just overall great person she is. I needed her at the time she was there. Only God knows why. Thanks for crossing my path. The night shirt girl also super sweet to my kiddos and they loved her. Nice to walk into a hotel and feel like home. I recommend this hotel to everyone traveling though New Braunfels TX. read more

I've stayed here many times due to work. I'm here once every week.. The problem now is that the jacuzzi has been broken going on 3wks...unacceptable and today's visit is a huge problem. My A/C doesn't work...I've been moved to a 2nd room and same problem...they will not fix it nor will I be moved a third time...I cant sleep in the heat!!! read more

Chaotic, doesn't even describe our stay there. Hot lobby, hallway, and problems with the cooling system. Difficult to get maid service, food was horrible. Lacked staff, the front desk was manned by one person and the person was overwhelmed. Awful stay. The mattress in my room was old and had the right side indentation! One lady said her bed has bed bugs! NEVER will stay here again..ever! Do yourself a favor and check into another hotel! read more

Beware! Walls are paper thin. The doors slam and when the door slams in the room next to you, the whole wall shakes. It WILL wake you up! We were UN-fortunate enough to have a group of high school girls that apparently had no supervision with them. We had people running in the halls, slamming doors and yelling in the halls well after midnight. We complained to the desk and they wanted us to move rooms instead of handling the situation like they should have. Not happy with the stay at all!!! This is a great hotel if you're in the area for recreation (toobin', schlitterbahn, etc.). We visit the area every summer and have stayed at many of the hotels, so I can say this place is one of the best 'value for money' around. The check-in was quick and friendly, the room was super-clean. The breakfast bar (included with our stay) was good. Hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, waffle irons (with batter than hadn't been watered down!), yogurts, bread for the toasters, fresh fruits, a host of pastries, cereals, juices. The coffee bar had all the basics, plus iced lemon water & various tea bags (green, black lemon). We didn't want our room to be serviced due to valuables we had to leave in the room, so just asked the front desk more more towels / face clothes and they immediately accommodated the request. We had to leave early Sunday morning so the breakfast wasn't quite open yet (opens at 7am on the weekends) but the coffee was ready at 6:30 and I asked the staff who was preparing the breakfast area if he could grab me a couple of hard-boiled eggs (one for the road) and he was more than happy to do so. Awesome!!!! The shower takes an engineer to figure out, literally... my husband is an engineer and it even took HIM a few minutes to figure out the combination to get the correct shower head on (there are two) with the correct pressure and temperature, but thats not a big deal, just a good 'brain teaser' haha. The walls are thin, *take earplugs*, but I think this goes without saying and pretty much standard of hotels in general. The pillows are standard size, for a king bed they seem small; SO if you are a pillow diva, make sure to take your own. ;-) Ample parking, well lit and secure. Free WiFi was quick, and there is a mini-fridge in room too. If youre looking for a good value, clean rooms, friendly staff, this is your place. read more

I would recommend a stay here and they also give free breakfast in the morning and its fairly decent. This is still a fairly new hotel -- just turned six months old. Everything is still clean and pretty, and it has a great modern look to to it. The lobby area is great and of course, breakfast included never hurt anyone. Great place to stay at, very very close to Schlitterbahn and Gruene (less than 10 minute drive, and that might even be a little generous.) read more

Amber was the worst host of the hotel. She greeted us in the hotel pool and then later came back saying not to dance provocative when there are children in the hotel. There were no children around but we abided by the rules. We then proceed to our room to shower for the night and our bathroom flooded. We were blamed for the tub flood and had the cops called on us. We are hispanic and one hotel worker said we could be transferred to another room but Amber came in and said that we are no longer welcomed. Don't stay at this place if you are of color or tattooed. This hotel refused to comply with the no blackout agreement the Marriott corporation made with Chase Marriott cedit card customers. It's a scam to when a legally-binding agreement is tossed aside because of greed. This is the first time I've had a big problem with getting reservations using corporate or personal annual nights at a Marriott in Central or South Texas. Beware of how this facility "applies" policies. I definitely don't appreciate Marriott throwing me under the bus. From now on I plan to go with Hilton. read more

Do not stay at this hotel if you're hoping to use the pool. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and we booked this hotel to have a weekend getaway with our little boy before his brother arrives. The indoor pool was 100% our motivation because a relaxing soak is about as good as it gets when you are huge and uncomfortable. Anyways, we check in and asked pool hours and they told us 9am-10pm. So 9am comes and we go to use it and find out the water is FREEZING! Asked the front desk and they said yea, it's not heated! How ridiculous! Why have an indoor pool without heat?! Also the floors are extremely dirty. Annoyed because Marriott only refunded us part of our points. read more

Overall stay was great. Easy access to highway. Definitely request a room away from the highway. It didn't bother me too much but the traffic noise was loud enough to hear from our 1 room suite. Everybody in our group enjoyed the hot breakfast in the morning. Be careful of the waffle maker on the left though. It sticks. The breakfast peeps were prompt at keeping the food stocked. This place appears to be decent upon first glance. However, we found a nice sized spider in our bed. We trapped it in a plastic cup and showed management. They denied any insect issues. Mold was in tub. We have small children that take baths instead of showers. I would not recommend this hotel. read more

My house flooded in November 2016 and my family of 6 stayed at this property for just over a month. We had 2 rooms. While we were there, I asked to put both rooms on my rewards account and was assured that it would be taken care of. Fast forward to today, I go to book another room in another city and ask to use my reward points since I'm sure I have plenty accumulated. I'm informed that I don't have any reward points because apparently the hotel staff never put my stay from November/December 2016 on my rewards account. I spoke to the rewards department directly and was told that since it had been over 18 months, there is nothing they could do about it. I then called the manager at the Fairfield Inn, Justine Broadway. She didn't help me either and told me the same thing. Both made it seem like it was my fault because I didn't catch it within 18 months. I spent a lot of time and money at this property to be treated this way. So although the staff is friendly, beware! In addition, the rooms and breakfast are mediocre. I would definitely recommend spending your money at a different property that is more honest and more worth the money. Definitely will not stay at another Fairfield Inn or Marriott property! read more

We were in town just for the night for a concert at Gruene Hall on Saturday. The location was relatively close to Gruene easily accessible to I35. This hotel was very nice! Cockroaches. My boys trapped 2. Housekeeping took care of them like pros. Too much practice disposing of these things, to be that nonchalant. We made a reservation for a connecting suite. Instead. We were given 2 rooms, next door to each other. Oldest child in room is 13. Lots of back and forth between our rooms. Doors slamming, on their own because they are heavy. I added another star today. Ohhh my god I check in at this place 10 pm. And charge me $149 for the night. I didn't mind cause it's seems nice and clean. At 11:30pm. I notice that my clothes and my bags were wet. Well I come to find out that the carpet floor it's soaking wet I guess the AC unit it's leaking so I decided to call front desk to let them know about it and the guy receptionist answer was " ohhh ok I let one of the maintenance guy check it out tomorrow thank you" and hung up. WELL ,, what a CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Thanks for the concern.
