My room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Cozy bed, but I could have used a thicker duvet. The comforter was oddly thin, not warm at all. Free parking. Wyn at check-in was especially lovely and helpful, gave me a room with a great view on the 4th floor- and maybe bring so high helped with the noise as I couldn't hear the cars at all. Very quiet. Breakfast was yummy and free!! My mini waffles were delicious. I wish I'd had time to visit the pool, looked fun!! I'll return, nice experience overall. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Manager Dixit Patel charged me a $190.58 no show fee for not showing up and not cancelling a reservation. I DID show up. Stayed 4 nights. I DID cancel a previous reservation. A friend rented a block of rooms cheaper than my original rate. So I cancelled my reservation and stayed in one of his rooms. Reservation #: 62PIGRY1UR Cancellation #: 52CSFI6FT7 Patel refused to refund my money. Had to file a credit card dispute. Complained to Corporate. They requested Patel refund my money, but it is non-binding because it is a franchise hotel. He refused. Also, nobody cleaned my room during the 4 day stay. What has happened to Marriott? Never staying at one of their properties again. read more

We are in town for the ultimate frisbee association (UFA) championship weekend and had a great time! This was only about 12 minutes from the field and we chose it because of the continental breakfast swimming pool and a great price. Staff was very friendly and the continentalbreakfast was great! We will definitely stay here again the next time we come in town. It is close to restaurants like Chick-fil-A and grocery stores like Aldi. We also enjoyed at the hotel how they have a Scrabble game set up for people to just put words in. My kids loved it. Great job at this location! read more

Check in was good. Room needed a good cleaning...was "surface clean only". Outside lights aimed up to highlight the building shined into room...was glad for the shades. In room coffee machine did not work, dribbling coffee onto the desk and leaving us w/no in-room coffee; not a big deal except coffee urns at breakfast bar was tepid. Husband was firmly reprimanded for trying to find a trash can to throw out cup that held batter for his waffle. Turns out you had to cross the dining area for trash...what's wrong w/putting a can next to areas that need it? Plus the employee seemed to be on a power trip repeating over and over how she just wanted to be safe. Hallway was dirty and coffee had been spilled down the wall at the elevator buttons. Would not recommend staying here. read more

We are a Marriott family and choose Marriott over any other brand if given the choice. We stayed at this Fairfield over Thanksgiving and it was a totally "meh" experience. What we noticed what was what was missing -- the warm, welcoming service that Marriott is known for. My husband is a gold member and it's standard for the clerk to acknowledge that and offer something - a bottled water, an upgrade - something. There was no acknowledgement at all. We stayed 4 nights - 1 with a certificate and 3 with cash. One stay, two forms of payment. This was not a problem for knowing that we needed the same room all 4 nights but it threw them into a tizzy when it came to housekeeping. When we checked in Wednesday, we were told housekeeping was every other day, so Friday. When we returned late Friday our room was still untouched. The front desk was surprised we thought we should have received housekeeping services and offered us new towels and toilet paper (whew, because we had run out after 3 days!) but said that our original check-in day didn't start the housekeeping cycle but the start of the "2nd reservation" did. (Cool, but with that logic, then the end of the "1st reservation" should have triggered housekeeping before the next one started because otherwise, eww, who wants to start a reservation with an uncleaned room!!??) We stayed out of our room all Saturday morning and returned close to 1:00 pm to find...drumroll please...the room wasn't cleaned!!! Eventually, with much internal discussion on whether or not our room should be cleaned, they did clean it. But here's the thing. Any one employee could have changed the situation. There's a myriad of ways they could have done this, but instead, we kinda felt like our staying here (at a hotel) over a holiday was an inconvenience. It's for all those underwhelming customer service reasons that I can't give this location more than 3 stars. It's a great location, but you have other options you might want to consider. read more

Great hotel at a great price. We especially liked the warm pool and hot tub. Hot coffee always ready too.

Let me start out saying the staff was great, we have no complaints there. The rest of the stay was not great. Our rooms had dirt in the sinks and tubs. The shower head and faucet are so filled with hard water that it sprayed in random directions when we turned them on. Our heaters would change between hot and cold air long without ever getting to our desired temperature (75 degrees). Ultimately, I would recommend staying almost anywhere else. read more

Loved it! Here's why: kindness at the desk - next door to La Taguira and excellent Venezuelan restaurant a block before it. The place is newer and clean, comfortable and priced competitively and have free breakfast which was ok. Waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage patties. read more

A clean lower mid-market chain hotel on Madison's east side just off the Interstate. We stayed for one night to attend graduation in early May and found this place to be all that you would expect from a 2-3 star hotel. Functionally everything was fine with generic cookie-cutter rooms, basic furnishings lower end bath amenities and the traditional shower tub. The place seemed fairly clean and the room a/c worked fine. It's just that we've been staying a lot in hotels across the globe with a little more character so returning to generic white walls in your basic box hotel presents a bit of a contrast. At $179/night it was pricey for the quality; but like all Madison hotels, they take full advantage of the University calendar boosting the rates when people are in town for events (in our case, graduation weekend). Bottom line, nothing special or unique but perfectly fine for sleep quality so if all you want is something basic on the edge of the city, this fits the bill perfectly. Just don't expect a warm and friendly welcome from Shannon at the front desk. read more

Newer hotel with a great staff and very clean facilities. Indoor pool and a short drive to shopping and dining. Close to the airport as well. Great value. read more

We stayed here because my nephew and his family were staying here along with the hockey team my nephew was playing on. My first impressions were positive. We reserved our room on line at a very affordable price I should say. Not only affordable for a Marriott, but for hotel rooms in general. We certainly have paid more for rooms at other hotels that were not as nice or furnished. The check in process took just minutes and they even put us on the same floor as my nephew. Our room was nice. We had a queen bed. The room could have been a bit larger however there was enough room for my wife and I and we even had all 5 of us together in there at one point. Some of my key points are the bathroom, shower and bed. The bathroom was good sized with plenty of room. The shower had excellent water pressure. The bed was very comfortable. When we reserved our room we had the option to select feather or foam pillows which was a nice touch. Our room also a fridge which took full advantage of. There is a pool, exercise room and provided breakfast in the morning. we did not experience any of these options during our stay. The lobby had complimentary water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. A very nice touch. The Fairfield Marriott is in a great location just off of 90, has affordable rooms and lots of options for the business traveler or family. We would certainly stay here again. read more

This is a nice clean Fairfield Inn located in Madison, Wisconsin. I only stayed one night before catching an early morning flight home so I didn't have time to partake in amenities like the free breakfast, but the employees were friendly during my short visit. I will stay here again when in Madison. read more

This place is spot on! My second time staying here and really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. So I was at the wrong hotel and decided to let Google guide me here- it took me through some back roads I have never been to. I called the front desk to see if I was heading in the right direction and the staff was so gracious to help me. Talk about going above and beyond. This weekend is a Big game so i know how he'll be busy but truly appreciate her helpfulness. read more

Friendly front desk staff, clean room. Indoor pool and exercise room both looked nice. My king size room was a bit smaller than normal but I am just here for the night so no biggie. Lots of meal options within 5 mins drive. Some walking distance. Overall a good place to stay. read more

I was so upset since I missed my flight so I ended up at this hotel. It was new and clean looking as soon as I walked in. Even my room was in decent shape. With the Marriott points I had and the disaster of the afternoon, they upgraded me to a king. There was this fancy overhead lights which dim on command. A sleeper, desk, and fridge was available. The other normal amenities also. Room service was actually from downstairs/ across the street at Pizzeria UNOS. Service was great except for when I left at 5a and no one was in the front. I think he was busy on the Internet. LOL. read more

My Chicago Ragnar team (50 Ways to Lose a Runner aka @50Ways2Ragnar & @50Ways2Ragnarv2) stayed at Fairfield Inn & Suites Madison East for the 2013 Ragnar Relay Series. It was incredibly convenient as it is right off I-30/90/94, a slightly easier drive and definitely better located destination than Madison West (which isn't even in Madison). It's situated in a heavily trafficked and traveled area but I slept like a baby, so you won't have to worry about too much noise. It's also just across the freeway from a large shopping center and many nearby restaurants and stores. You'll have no problem picking up any essential items you may have forgotten and grabbing a bite to eat even if it's late at night. It's about a 20-30 minute drive from Downtown Madison, which is where we went for dinner and had to pass through to get to the Ragnar starting line. We really appreciated how close it was to the starting point because it allowed Van #1 to sleep in a little bit more than when we stayed at Madison East's sister hotel. It was also perfect for Van #2 because it let them sleep in a bit later because it was much closer to checkpoint #6. Everyone was a winner! That they would have a pool and hot tub didn't even cross my mind, so I'll be sure to pack my swim suit if I ever return here. Points taken away for the shower that wouldn't drain properly. However, bonus points for giving us free toiletries when we realized we had forgotten some. read more

I've been to many Marriotts over the years ranging from Fairfields to JWs and Vacation Clubs so I know a bad Marriott when I see one. This one was up to par and made the stay comfortable for us. The staff is friendly and makes it a point to greet everyone and even engage in a little small talk. They even had a Scrabble game up on the counter for people to join in on as they passed through. I thought that was a very smart and engaging little touch. I don't know when this location was built but the rooms and building are of the remodeled or newer generation style so everything is clean and slick. Access is somewhat of a pain because their road is off of a frontage road so it's easy to get confused when trying to get to the highway or surrounding area. Overall great comfortable place to stay for a fair price while in the Madison area. read more

This hotel is very clean, has great breakfast and great staff. Dan at the front desk was working the weekend we stayed and he was awesome to us as were all of the other staff members. The pool and hot tub are great. It is very convenient to get to the city. I have had stays at other, more pricey and so-called 4 and 5 star hotels that did not measure up to this one. The beds are very comfortable and there was ample room for four guests in the 2 queen suite we stayed in. read more

It's an Okay hotel for a Marriott brand. Was "upgraded" to two queen beds when I originally had a king room. Not sure why marriott properties continue to bump people to downgraded rooms and call them upgrades. Room was a sofa suite but who really cares about the sofa. Anyways, no real pressure in the shower, pipes made noise when turned on. Could hear the neighbors running water at 6am. Room was clean but found hairs in the bathroom shower. Breakfast was basic. Only thing nice was the staff and the gym. read more

Sheets don't stay on the bed. Room is nice there os a Fridge in the room and a smart TV that had Netflix. Bathroom is nice and was clean

Quiet, clean, friendly. Fitness center could be bigger - only two treadmills. The breakfast included is typical - edible but not exceptional. And next door is Starbucks. read more

While the room was pretty good, the fitness area is small and unimpressive. The thing that really made uncomfortable with my visit was that a manager at the front desk decided she needed to reprimand an employee while I was in the area. read more

Really nice finishes. Great breakfast in the morning......they even set it up a little early to accommodate our large group that was staying there when we had to be out the door by 7:00 am on a Saturday morning. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast is just decent, not great. Limited options for their proteins & fruits, but u can't argue with free! The rooms are spacious and I like the layout. It feels like very distinct "living" and "bed" rooms. The TVs are pretty small, as is the bath. But overall a solid 4 stars. read more

I have stayed in a lot of Fairfield Inn & Suites and this is the best one I've experienced. Every area of the property is crystal clean and very well kept. The customer service was excellent. Check in was a breeze. They fulfilled all my pre-arrival requests before I got there . The pool area was super clean and spacious. Plus they have a whirlpool with lights that change colors so it's pretty. I stayed with my family and we all loved it. Breakfast was good; what we expect at a Fairfield. I highly recommend this hotel. read more

Lately I've been doing a lot of business in Madison and this has become my home away from home. Property is new and it lives comfortably for a good rate. Great view if you get an even numbered room. Be sure to ask for that. Also, a very very short drive from great shops and restaurants in the East Madison area. read more

I only give one star because I have to put something in. My daughter came home from a weekend Military stay and found bugs in her clothes.

Have stayed at this Marriott location many times. It is always clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful. When I was assigned my room, I realized that there was no refrigerator . Was surprised because most Fairfield Inn rooms have microwave and refrigerators. Really needed a refrigerator this trip because I had purchased-- get this--- $90.00 worth of cannoli filling and shells in Conn. to bring 1400 miles to Minnesota for Thanksgiving. The front desk girls promptly moved me --and my expensive cargo-- to a room with a refrigerator. (Actually one of the best features of this hotel-- room service is from Pizzaria Uno Restaurant next to hotel. Order from menu, delivered right to your room.) read more

I stayed here twice in a short period of time in April 2014. The first time I liked it, the second time made me join the Hilton Hhonors program and recuse myself from Marriott for a while. I requested connecting rooms (traveling with my son and one of my parents each time). The first time we got that, the second time we did not. Disappointing, but it was more the way the woman checking us in clearly could not care less that my son couldn't stay near his Nana--good acting is the key to good customer service. The second time we stayed the heat was very loud, which I didn't figure out until my son was asleep so no way to get it fixed (assuming they'd care more about that issue). I don't much understand why housekeeping couldn't have filled out a note that the heat was broken--it was LOUD, they would have noticed. The bathroom was very small, very. But it was clean, the pool area was nice (although had not been cleaned during the night when we went down the next morning). Breakfast was fine, nothing special. I won't be staying here again. read more

When the front desk staff heard we were moving to the area they put together a "Welcome to Madison" gift bag with information on the area, candy for my kids and a personal note. We have never been made to feel so welcome by a hotel. The place is beautiful and immaculate. Fantastic view of the area. I'm telling everyone that comes to visit to stay here. read more
