I only stayed here 1 night since they honored the government rate during the weekend. The front desk staff was very accommodating - I was able to check in early (12 pm) Friday afternoon and they granted my late checkout request of 3 pm; truly grateful they worked with me. The hotel/room is outdated - they would truly benefit from a renovation. The room didn't feel like the cleanest, but it served its purpose. The majority of Marriott hotels offer apps (netflix, showtime ..) but this one doesn't. Breakfast is included during your stay. The location is right of I-95 (no noise complaints) and directly beside Cracker Barrel! Two starts is generous - I added the second star for the early check-in / late check-out accommodation. When leaving the hotel I noticed small bumps on my face, I highly suspect these are from bed bugs. I did not see any inspects - but the lesion on my face is enough for me. For that simple fact I will not be back.

First...my sister and I arrived VERY late (2am) and Stephan, the guy who checked us in deserves 10 stars and a medal for dealing with us...2 tired seniors who have been on the road for 13 hours. He was friendly and kind and patient. Now for the room. Can I give it "minus stars"?? It smelled like someone had a cat living in there. It lacked some basics (a box of tissues). Ok, not soooo horrible. But the clincher??!!! ROACHES. Need pics? Ok. You got 'em. So back to Stephen who did everything he could to help. He offered us the only remaining room which was on the first floor right by the exit. Gonna be noisy in the morning. And now it's 2:30am these 2 seniors are beyond tired. Well! This 2nd room is a "handicapped accessible" with a king bed. We had requested 2 queen size beds. We're not a couple. The room also "features" a very YUCKY accessible shower (with the previous guest's used soap bar still there), dirty floor, disgusting "curtain", and a plastic chair that I guarantee had not been disinfected or even cleaned. Ever. So clearly we'll have to live without a shower for one night. Need a tissue? Too bad. No tissues in this room either. I go visit Stephan again at the front desk to get a box of tissues. I need to blow my nose. And to cry. It's now 2:45am, and he is still amazing. He should be promoted to Director of Guest Relations because he is calm and nice through it all. MARRIOT...you should be ashamed at the condition of this hotel! Or at least of the condition of both rooms that I experienced. This is a busy location (midpoint between NY and Florida immediately next to I-95) and typically sold out. There is no excuse for these disgusting conditions. So get these rooms in order, re-train the housekeeping staff, and promote Stephan. By the way, a couple of weeks ago we stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Santee SC and that location was absolutely lovely, as expected. ALL of your locations should be equally and reliably 5 star. It should not be a hit or miss situation.

The room was clean and spacious which made it easy to relax after a long day of traveling. The bed was especially comfortable, and I appreciated how quiet the hotel was even being close to the highway. It's definitely a great stop if you're traveling and need a place to unwind. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. Check-in was smooth, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt modern and well-kept. Breakfast was available, which was convenient, though the selection could be a little better depending on your expectations. Still, it was nice to have that option before heading out. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay in Lumberton. I would definitely consider staying here again.

I was given a room on the top floor and even given a recommendation for dinner. When I arrived, there was a baby shower in the lobby, and possibly a family reunion. My room was large and almost clean. There were two white substances on the counter. It didn't photograph so well in the light, but one I took without the light on. It appeared to be missed in cleaning the counter. The WIFI was great, and there was a good selection of television stations. I could hear some of the traffic from the highway, so I adjusted the fan to stay on to buffer it. But it wasn't an issue I first thought it would be. The hotel had a pool and a small fitness room. Breakfast was great. When I got there, the lobby was full of high school or college students heading to a robotics competition. It was hard to find a seat. But waffles, breads, cereals, oatmeal, as well as hot foods were offered. I believe there were yogurts and some fruit as well. The breakfast area was well attended to, and she kept the selections stocked. I am planning a return here in May and hope for another great stay.

There were some good points and some bad points. This was my first time staying at this BW in Lumberton while traveling. Checking in was easy. The staff, especially London was very very nice and welcoming. She gave us water bottles upon checkin. There's a small lobby and a breakfast area with seating. It looked a bit weathered and could use some updating. For the free breakfast I was surprised they didn't have hot grits and sausage gravy on their breakfast bar. Every Best Western I've ever stayed at in the south has had this on their breakfast bar including a machine where you can pick the type of coffee you want like a latte, a mocha latte, regular coffee, espresso, etc.. This hotel is an outdoor style hotel with two floors. For some reason their suits are on the second floor so if you are traveling with large luggage, you have to drag it up a flight of stairs. There are no elevators.( I wish I knew this ahead of time.) The walls are also somewhat thin. You can hear the people next door. Once in the room, it was very nice. I upgraded for $9 extra to a suite. The suite had a comfortable king bed, sitting area, desk and chair, refrigerator and microwave, 2 TV's that only had very limited shows. Ironing board, and iron, and blow dryer. They didn't have Netflix, or any of the streaming services I'm used to when traveling. It was mostly local stations. The Lumberton BW is situated right across from a Walmart. ( great for truckers.) Directly across the street is a Chick-fil-A and other restaurants. My biggest complaint is the water pressure was very low in the shower and sink it made it hard to rinse off. My other issue which I do not like is this BW uses large bottles of shampoo, body wash,, conditioner with pumps on the wall. ( that means everyone's hands are on those bottles and pumps instead of having individual samples, sealed and placed daily.I wound up getting Covid and the flu together from using these according to my doctor. Everyone that I was near not one person has ever had Covid. Out front on the corner of the property directly in front by the driveway were several homeless people hanging out. Since you walk directly across to get food, it's not the right place for these people. I felt very uneasy because it was nighttime. Checkout was easy. I did bring up several of these issues to the front desk and they were writing it down. This hotel also allows dogs and cats so if you are allergic check directly with the hotel. I think if this hotel could improve on the things I mentioned, it would get higher rating.

I'll admit I was slightly concerned when it was a motel, but we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and size of the room. All in all, would definitely choose this motel over the nearby Hampton Inn for a quick stop! Outdoor pool was open on 4/6.

Somehow, someway, when I clicked on the new Holiday Inn Express link I was either redirected or ended up booking here by complete mistake. Bummer. I don't know how you go from that to this, but whatever. I'll chalk it up to user error this time but I should have known better; should have checked and rechecked, verified, and checked again, I guess. Otherwise, for an older remodeled hotel, there's big comfy bed, quiet solid walls and floors, plenty of parking, lots of hot water and good water pressure so I guess the stay was adequate for the night just not at all what I was expecting.
