This was what we needed, and it met expectations. The room was clean and nice. Beds were good. Shower was really good size (better than one at a much more upscale hotel later on our trip, in fact). What set this place apart was the people. We received a very nice welcome when we arrived. Check-in was a breeze. The next morning, they went out of their way to find out if the eggs they used had dairy in the mixture (it did), as we have a very dairy intolerant child. Finally, when we were leaving, we bought a couple bottles of water, but I didn't realize the charge didn't clear until we'd started to drive away. s have gone downhill quite quickly. The Joplin, MO, property is not worth the overpriced stay. The TV has issues with the volume. The mini fridge was "defrosted" and the door left open, so the floor was wet in front of the fridge, and I got to step in it with socks since I had no idea they were "defrosting" their refrigerators. The room has a musty odor, like the past few Fairfield in which I have stayed. The furniture is badly scarred and looks old and abused. The bathtub ... Well, bring flip flops. And the internet is so slow I cannot utilize the resources I need for my work. I am supposed to get "enhanced" internet, but I was told they do not have that as this hotel. The front desk person was pleasant, however. That does not make up for the negatives, though. Avoid this property. read more

As a lifetime titanium for more than 20 years, we've stayed at every brand within the Marriott family. Of course JW & St. Regis are great yet every once in awhile we have to stay at a Fairfield Inn, or Springhill Suites, etc, especially in smaller towns. This past week we stayed at the Fairfield Inn on S. Range Line Road in Joplin. This has the most meager breakfast I've encountered at any Marriott property in more than 20 years.. Truly abysmal. No nuts, seeds, raisins, or cranberry items to add to the oatmeal, except brown sugar. Only fruit were oranges. read more

We tend to stay in the Fairfield brand of Marriott as we travel so my review is based on a comparison to others. This one had dirty bedsheets in our room and they quickly moved us to another. in the new room we notisamethat the mattresses in both beds were well used with a deep indent in both queen mattresses. The breakfast didn't compare with other locations. Very little in the way of selections. No eggs or oatmeal. read more

Stopped in for the night while on our road trip home. The room was clean and inviting. Even though we were obviously tired, I am mainly writing this review to make sure everyone who reads these knows that the bed was amazing! I actually over slept. Very comfortable and felt clean, the pillows were a perfect smush (and there were 4 per bed plus a variety in hard/soft), and the sheets/comforter looked and smelled freshly cleaned. We got this as a Hotwire deal and it was very worth the price. Grab and go breakfast, easy check in/out, hotel follows covid mitigation, close off the highway, AC worked great, bathroom was roomy and clean. I would definitely book again. Safe travels! read more

I stayed here August 2019 while my dad was dying in a local hospital. The receptionist was awesome and the only reason this review isn't a 1 star. If Marriott is interested in why I will NEVER recommend this site, they can contact me directly. I do have a rewards account and you're welcome for not calling out your "management". This Fairfield is clearly in hotel alley - range road for the Joplin area. Next popular brand hotel area was Tulsa to the west, quite far away so this made for perfect stop. I had a very long days drive in from Detroit and ending here for an evening was a welcome rest. Front desk clerk was very pleasant and already had me checked in when I arrived, she already had me placed but I requested a room that was very quiet- she promised she would take care and she did deliver placing me on the 3rd floor. Room was very clean, bathroom and shower was spotless, and the remote was sanitized and bagged-- the little details matter. Had a restful night with no noise- The same front desk clerk was working the desk when I checked in the prior night, very hard working! The breakfast area was the only negative- but in Covid time no property seems to be providing much of any variety. read more

Not sure why, but it must be a kind of hub for business travelers (I can't imagine that it'd be for tourism). There are a lot of restaurants nearby. Ruby Tuesday is literally a stones throw from the parking lot, and Pitchers Sports Bar & Grill is across the street. And you know you're in Business-Travel-In-A-­Dinky-Town Heaven when there's a McDonald's and a Starbucks right in front of you (breakfast and coffee, respectively). Heck, Sonic is next door too if you want a late night snack or a drink. Lastly, there's a 24 hour Food 4 Less grocery store behind the Starbucks! Every single national chain restaurant (i.e. no In n Out) is within a 5 mile radius of the hotel! ** Free Lemonade & Cookies at the Front A nice gesture! ** Spacious Obviously it's because it's the Executive King Suite, as opposed to a regular room, so I get this extra seating area. Sometimes when working late at night, I actually like to pace back and forth to help think, so these extra spaces are always welcome. ** Outlets-A-Plenty Surprisingly, the King Suite I was in last time had only 1 accessible outlet. This regular King room has 8, 4 of which are by the bed and 2 of which are on (not under) the desk. Perfect! CONS ** Bright at Bedtime Last time I had complaints about the outside being too bright, and I was facing north. This time, I'm still complaining about the outside being too bright, but I'm facing south. Outside my window is Sonic, which has a freaking LED animated display, McDonalds, Starbucks, Pitchers, and a Conoco gas station, and gas stations have stupid numbers of stupid bright white lights. I know the typical response is, "close your curtain then!" Well, I like waking up to sunlight, so unfortunately, I can't have both here. Happy to report that I never heard a train this time around. ** Insecure Business Center Now for some, this is considered a good thing, because the more security there is, the harder it is to do anything productive on them. Well, this has NONE! There is no login, no nothing. I went to my email and downloaded a PDF, which downloaded automatically to a folder on the PC. I went to print it, and then permanently deleted it (as much as Windows can do), but I browsed some of the files in that folder, which there were hundreds of, and I couldn't believe the stuff that was kept there! I actually saw a bank statement! Who was stupid enough to do that? Someone with $11,000 in their checking account. That's who! Well, if you're not very computer savvy, and you care for your security, and you don't HAVE to get whatever document right now...try to avoid it. OTHER NOTES The last time I was here, there was some construction being done, but this time, the entire first floor is gutted! The dining area is closed off, so they've basically taken one of their 1st floor rooms, removed the bed and the micro fridge, and put a few tables in there. Guess that's the new breakfast room. They also put the 1 computer and printer in there. I miss the extra pacing room of the King Suite, but the outlets in regular King room is enough to make me want to stay here as opposed to the suite. read more

I stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights over Thanksgiving this past November. To say that this was a despicable, dirty, and crappy place to stay..,well, that just doesn't convey what a dump this place is to stay. I had 2 rooms for the 3 nights--1 for my wife and our teenage daughter, and the other for my teenage son and I. In those 3 nights, they cleaned my room just once, but my wife never once had her room cleaned. We complained every single night and they'd claim that the privacy tag was somehow transported onto the door, so it didn't need cleaning. When I checked out, I asked to speak with the manager. She was especially worthless. She told me that as an Executive Platinum Marriott frequent stay member, I'd get extra points for this stay, so I should just leave and be happy about that. Now I fully understand where her lazy and extremely rude staff got their training...from the angry bitch in charge. I will be back in Joplin again soon, but I will NEVER, EVER stay in ANY Marriott in that town. And I'd urge everyone else to avoid them too--especially the Fairfield Inn on Range Line Road, just south of 32nd street. Unless you enjoy staying in dirty rooms run by angry, aggressive people. read more

This place was super clean when I was there. I just stayed one night on my way to Oklahoma City. I have been a business traveler for over 15 years and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel. I'm talking about the common areas, hallways, lobby, elevator, etc. The cleanliness of my room was about average or slightly above average for a hotel of this class. My guess is that the hotel very recently had an annual cleaning. I didn't ask but that's what I'm thinking. Decent rate. Marriott chain. Right off the interstate and plenty of other businesses nearby in case you need something (food, gas, etc.). Nice place. You'll like it here. read more

They just sort of charge you whatever they want in case of incidental fees before they even check the rooms. Also there needs to be better communication from the night staff to the day staff. After talking to the night guy and then talking to the morning staff it was very clear the night guy had an attitude that he could say whatever because he wouldn't have to deal with consequences in the morning. read more

Our family of 14 stayed here 1 night to attend a family funeral. During the night 3 of our grandchildren became ill. The hotel staff responded with kindness and concern- we were provided fresh bed linens and towels as needed as well as friendly and courteous help to all of our needs. Upon learning we were in town for a funeral, the manager and staff presented our family with a sympathy card signed by all of the employees- such a wonderful and kind gesture! As for the hotel, it is clean and comfortable , the free breakfast and 24 hour coffee service are great. Food is delicious and there is plenty to go around. We don't get to Joplin often, but this hotel has our business any time we are there! read more

This hotel would be fine if the rate was equal to the quality. The walls are extremely thin. The toilet is really hard to flush. We were on the 2nd floor & could hear people in the parking lot talking..... Not the way I wanted to wake up. You could hear the people above you. The breakfast was nasty. We are cold leftover pizza & it was great compared to what they had. The sausage gravy tasted old. It was WAY over priced for the quality. read more

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and the breakfast selection was great. Our room was very clean and well stocked. The refrigerator had a buzzing noise, so we unplugged it. The Inn is located right next door to a Texas Roadhouse. We walked over and had a great meal with top-notch service. Our iPhone GPS gave bad directions using "shortest distance" so just make sure you are routed on main streets and not through a neighborhood! read more

This place gets 3 stars only because the staff I dealt with was friendly and did their best to help. Everything else is 2 stars at best. Breakfast is ok, as long as you like cereal and fruit. By "fruit", I mean orange and grapefruit slices. The eggs were swimming in some sort of water broth and the sausage that was available each morning for a week was...interesting. The coffee was hot and tasty and had plenty of add ins available. My biggest complaint??..the only ice maker in the entire hotel filled up a few coolers and that's about it. Also, no washer and dryer...that was a biggie as well. The closest place to wash a dirty baseball uniform was about 15 minutes away. I read an earlier post about how comfortable the beds were...I must have been in a different room. My bed was old and bowed in the middle. This place IS very clean and the parking is plentiful. There are a zillion places to eat within a couple of miles of this hotel and that is a big plus. read more
