This Fairfield Inn seems like an ok hotel. It's clean. It is almost 10 miles from the park. Every place around here is crazy expensive. It is summer, and Hershey park is open, but $400 a night is obscene price gouging. They don't even give you a bottle of water! They're charging $4 for a bottle you would pay $4 for a 24 pack at Sam's just down the road. It seems this is the first review for this hotel in 2 years (since 2023). Like I've already said - it seems nice enough. There isn't an over abundance of parking, but tonight I had no trouble finding a spot. I'll see tomorrow when I come in late. There is a Sheetz gas station and convenience store right next door. There is also a McDonalds and some other eateries across the street or close enough to walk. Tonight, there are a lot of kids staying here. They seem to be having a good time and also enjoying the indoor pool. read more

Date: July 30th, 2025 Time: 11:40 a.m. I'm writing this review to report a very disappointing experience I had today at this hotel. I arrived around 11:30 a.m. as a Marriott member as I usually do when I travel and kindly asked if we could store our luggage and be informed if a room became available for early check-in. We were planning to go have lunch and return later. However, the front desk attendant, Sharon, was immediately rude and dismissive. She said check-in was only possible at 3 p.m., in a very cold and inflexible manner, with no willingness to assist or even check availability. Worse, she pretended not to understand my English even though I was speaking clearly. As someone working at an international hotel chain, she should be trained and prepared to respectfully deal with guests from different countries and accents. Unfortunately, I felt unwelcome, disrespected, and honestly, I sensed xenophobic behavior in the way I was treated. There was a clear lack of empathy and professionalism. Because of this, I canceled my reservation on the spot and moved to the Holiday Inn next door, where I was treated with the basic respect every guest deserves. This type of service is unacceptable from a Marriott property, and I hope management addresses this not just for me, but to avoid losing more loyal clients in the future. read more

If you're on a budget and staying just one night, Fairfield Inn is a fair choice. It's right off the major highway close to plenty of shops and restaurants and offer free parking for guests. Check in is speedy and for a tiny hotel, the lobby even has a small market selling snacks and basic travel goods. The dining room is nearby serving a large breakfast daily for guests. The first level also has a work out room (with three treadmills) and a pool and hot tub. The rooms themselves are spacious, but they feel old. Our room had a funky smell and the entire hotel felt old and dingy. For one night, it worked, but we wouldn't want to stay more than that. read more

This hotel was very convenient to get to and the rate was excellent. Everything seemed a little smaller. The hallways, elevators, and even rooms. Overall it was comfortable and there was plenty of parking. I would definitely stay there again. I don't understand using the app and having to check in when I get there. With the Hilton app you can check in, pick out you floor and room and get a mobile key. It's very easy. read more

We're off on another two night adventure away, and decided to stay at this hotel. The rates are very reasonable and they take AAA as a discount. We have a very large room with two double beds and a sleep sofa...plenty of room. It's divided into two main sections with a TV in each...perfect to separate adults from kids ! We have a microwave , a refrigerator, and plenty of counterspace to spread out. The room is very clean (we always wipe everything down). Breakfast includes something for everyone...everything from cereal, yogurt, eggs, sausage, make your own pancakes, muffins, juice, fresh fruit, to oatmeal. It is well tended and clean. The front desk is very friendly, and they offered fresh cookies and flavored water from the afternoon into the evening. It is not the newest hotel, but it is definitely a place where I would return! read more

Warning - this is currently a construction zone as the entire third floor is being renovated. Room was not available upon arrival; but I was early at 1:00 PM. Room was ready at 5 upon my return. The rooms are standard for the brand. It was clean and the water pressure adequate. Breakfast was available but really not appealing. The coffee was good. Bacon was weird...paper thin and super cispy, but hot breakfast and breads and other sundry morning meal items were a hit. Bed was SUPER soft as were the pillows. Shower was absolutely heavenly with great water pressure and fancy pump shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner installed for ready use. Tub a bit slippery, so be careful. AC was great, TV with my name on it and weather at touch of a button was over the top amenity. Indoor Pool looked inviting. Great price and worth every penny as a business traveler! If I could give no stars I would. The last time we visited Hershey Park in PA we stayed at a Best Western that was so much better than this hotel. This establishment was so inadequate which is putting it much more kindly than it should be put, for a place that has the Marriot name attached to it. We were charged $40 more than what we booked the room for at check in when we were told that all we would have to pay was what the room was reserved for, and we traveled from VA. We were not told about extra for incident fees, or market fees per room per night. What if we didn't have extra cash or money at check in over what we reserved our rooms for? Which we had to take to a store 3 miles away to put on cards because this establishment was no longer accepting cash at the time of check in, only at check out, which also made no sense. On top of that 2 of our rooms had no microwave, and none of the housekeeping staff spoke English, so we could not communicate to them our housekeeping needs for our stay. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, and the room smelled like wet dog. Again for this establishment to have the Marriot name attached to it and for the price I paid at an already discounted rate, being a Marriot Bonvoy member, I just expected it to be better than what it was. I will not be recommending this hotel to people visiting the Hershey area, and I will be warning them to stay away from it if they are expecting to have a better experience than just having a room and a bed for the night. read more

Except for the difficult check-in on Sunday 29 May 2022, everything about the Fairfield Inn & Suites Harrisburg International Airport was efficient and professional. Upon arriving for check-in, I presented my credit card and valid Federal Issued photo identification to the front desk clerk. He informed me that only state-issued drivers licenses are valid for registering as a guest, Federally issued IDs are not accepted. I shared with him that not everyone has a drivers license and the ID presented is accepted by TSA for commercial airline travel. Things went downhill from there. - Am now aware that no guest has ever registered for this property without a drivers license. - The General Manager does not take employee calls when not on duty - The Marriott Licensee does not speak directly to guests - No need to contact Corporate Marriott; they have no input on hotel policies - This ' State-issued drivers license' policy is not written anywhere, nor does it need to be Fortunately I was carrying a Passport Card issued by the US Department of State which he accepted. (Possibly clerk was unaware that this 'State' ID has no correlation to a drivers license) When checking out, the standard question of "How was your stay?" was asked. Of course I shared this frustrating experience. The gentleman processing my checkout presented himself as the General Manager, who was oblivious of this ID policy and unsure what to do next. read more

This hotel is okay and a reason it is just okay is because there are a couple of really annoying things about it. The key cards take at least 6 times to swipe in before it lets you into your room. Doesn't matter on how fast or how slow, it wouldn't work. The breakfast area is also pretty small and so is the lobby; so it can get really crowded at around 9am. I suggest to anyone who plans on getting the free breakfast, get there around 8am. The pool and the hot tub are nice as well, nothing too fancy...which is good because it would be unnecessary. There is always a decent amount of parking. The people that work at the front desk are incompetent, however. read more

A very nice place to stay not too far from Hershey. We crashed here after a loooong and fun day at Hersheypark. Our room was clean, well appointed, and best of all had beds in it that we could fall face-first into and sleep. Other amenities: free breakfast, a nice pool, and discount Hersheypark tickets. We stayed here for a recent baseball tournament and visit to Hersheypark. It was a good experience overall. The renovated hotel was comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was decent, but nothing special, and what you would expect. The staff was friendly, but not the greatest. I didn't get a clear answer when I asked about a late checkout. The front desk staff smiled and laughed and asked how late we wanted. Apparently a lot of people had made the same request. That's fine, but there was never a clear answer. They also didn't check our Marriott Rewards status, which might have made the decision easier. In the end, I just said the current checkout was fine. A noon checkout is later than most anyway. I would stay at this hotel again. It was convenient and well maintained. Nothing to write an amazing review about, but also nothing really wrong. read more

The rooms are very spacious with a very nice sized bathroom. The layout is very homey and inviting. The staff was super nice. We all went and sat by the pool, even though none of us had brought swim suits, and had a nice time. Unfortunately the hot tub was closed, but it was still a wonderful time. I travel a lot, both business and personal, and have built a tolerance for small nuances and inconveniences with hotels. And I've never written a bad comment or review for one. However, my stay at the Fairfield Inn in Harrisburg, PA will ruin that track record and earn the title of "Worst Marriott Experience. Ever." Between the musky, mildew smell; the water damage that appears to be causing mold and the wall paper to bubble and peel; the dead bug in the light fixture and the dead cricket in the bathroom; the very damaged and scared furniture; the way the blackout curtains extend three feet from the wall when the AC or heat is on because they're too long (and thus defeating the purpose of blackout curtains, not to mention privacy since I was on the ground floor); and the overall dated look and feel of the accommodations --- the hotel feels like it has fallen to the level of, if not lower than, that of a motel. Also, the staff was friendly, but seemingly disinterested; especially was the case as I was checking out. While I still largely remain an advocate consumer for the Marriott brand, sadly, I will not be staying at this particular hotel again on my next business trip to Harrisburg. I also can't recommend this hotel to my coworkers, friends, or family, and would advise to look elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately things started off immediately on the wrong note when I called about 200 miles out to make a reservation. I am a Marriott card holder and in their rewards program and had accumulated 25,000 points so I wanted to use them for a free room. When I called and Louis picked up he stated he "has nothing to do with rewards points and can't check the balance and can't help me book a room". Fair enough, but don't stop there Louis, help me as a first time user of your brands reward program make it a smooth experience...not tell me all the ways you can't be of help. So finally after me prying the answers out of him he transferred me to what he said was reservations. The lady Joyce set me up with a room and made no mention of the fact that if we canceled we would be charged regular price for the room and then refunded our points later. This arose because at 2am I was struggling to stay awake and pulled off at a Fairfield Hazleton and tried to switch my reservation go this hotel instead. The front desk at Hazleton said I did not have points to cover the room so basically they were being held by the Harrisburg hotel. I called to try and figure out how we could arrange what I needed. I got Louis on the phone again and he told me "like I said before, I have nothing to do with points. Cal the 800 number" well, I didn't call the 800 number before I called him and was transferred so I had to ask quickly before he hung up on me if he would please transfer. Long story short, no one would work with me and make an exception and let me switch hotel locations. So I drove half away to Harrisburg where I was grumpily "welcomed" by Louis and at 3:30 am would have loved a late check out he told me no because there already were a lot. Then compromised to 12:30 instead of 12.... Thanks. What a wonderful 8.5 hour stay for 15,000 of my points. I should have trusted the reviews from other patrons who said staff was rude. read more

The manager on duty arranged for a late checkout, assisted my wife in securing medication by directing her to the nearest phamacy, checked in to see if I was feeling better, and recommended a local urgent care and ER so we could decide the best course of treatment. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry, I cannot recommend this property or chain enough as a result of my experience. read more

Quinn is amazing. My boyfriend was having a bad day and checking in to this hotel, she called a florist for me and arranged for someone to pick up the order and put it in his room. Do not stay here unless you smell your room first. The place is clean but the rooms and halls smell like mold and a wet towel. We were showed 5 rooms and they all smelt bad 224, 228 , 101 and 301. We left this hotel at 11:00 pm and had to fined another place. The staff was nice and tried to help they said they sent someone to look at the Air Conditioner the rooms were not habitable. read more

Stayed here as a stop over to Hershey park with my niece and nephew. Starting with the good-staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was adequate, breakfast was continental but free. Unfortunately, the whole hotel smells like a musty basement. Not sure if there was water damage at one time but it did not get any better wherever you went in the hotel. The hotel has been recently renovated - all the rooms look very nice, have the plastic barrier between the A/C and curtains to prevent blowout, breakfast was very good, customer service was good as well. I did not give 5 stars because by Yelp standards 4 stars is "Yay! I'm a fan." This hotel is not "As good as it gets" but is far from a bad hotel. If I come back to Harrisburg I will certainly stay in this hotel again - no complaints at all! I think for the money, this place is a steal. read more

Worst customer service that I've ever experienced at a hotel. I was there for a hockey tournament with my boys and the staff were not just unfriendly, they were downright rude to every family there from our team. We had 14 families staying in 14 rooms in their hotel. Housekeeping left a note informing me that if I wanted my bed made, then I needed to remove all personal items from the bed. The personal items they were referring to included 3 small stuffed animals that my boys sleep with and a jacket!! Our team received several calls "warning" us of behavior at the hotel when we were NOT EVEN AT THE HOTEL!! Apparently, they felt it was ok to berate and threaten every team staying at the hotel with eviction due to the behavior of 2 individuals on a different team. If you are a business traveler and expect complete silence from 10 pm on, then this might be the hotel for you. However, if you have children, are with any sports team, or plan to stay up past 10 pm and watch TV, then you better stay elsewhere!! read more

Really disappointed in this Marriott hotel. Made a reservation on Expedia for what I thought was the Fairfield in Hershey - with Hershey in the name it's easy to see how I was misled. I arrived to the one in Hershey and realized when trying to check in that I was not at the right hotel. Since I had work in Hershey, and actually wanted to stay at the hotel I was in, I called Expedia to try and cancel my Fairfield Harrisburg reservation. Being less than 24 hours in advance they warned me I may be charged by the Harrisburg hotel and when I called the front desk agent confirmed that yes, I would be charged a fee of $160. I tried to argue my case, especially since I was still staying at a Marriott, albeit a different one, but the manager would not hear it. Just really disappointed in this hotel and the staff that couldn't just give me a break for an honest mistake booking a hotel with a misleading name. read more
