The fix was to eat two bagels. My biggest problem is the sparsity of plugs for modern phone and IPad needs. Make sure you bring extra long cords for every one. My daughter and I were in town for a softball tournament and drove 2 1/2 hours. I am an upfront and honest person, and didn't even know about this policy until check in when I saw the sign and mentioned it to the woman checking us in. She became very rude and exasperated, and swore up and down how she's the one who books the reservation and KNOWS she said it. I advised her that I in turn am the person that she spoke with, and this wasn't mentioned, which is why I pointed the sign out. We went back and forth for a bit until I told her that I have no problem going into town and getting cash out via atm with my debit card, as all the other places were now booked (because trust me, I started to call after how absolutely rude she was to me and my 12 year old). She relented. Overall the room and the facility was nice, but your absolutely rude attitude is why I'll never stay there again. It's not my fault you dropped the ball, and that I was upfront with you when I read your policy!!!

The suite has a large bedroom and a separate sitting room and a separate private bath. It takes up one whole upper side of the large house. It, like the rest of the inn, was immaculate. We checked in late afternoon and through the beautiful wall-wide windows watched the sun setting over the snow. Gorgeous. Everything about Maple Cove exceeded our expectations. So comfortable and warm. Plenty of hot water for a tub in the morning, window seats in both the sitting area and the bedroom for sunrise and sunset views. Beautifully decorated, but not kitschy or cluttered. They also supplied a mini-fridge, a K-cup coffee maker, plenty of towels, extra blankets and pillows. In the morning Jan made us a gourmet breakfast. I do not exaggerate. An incredible omelet, fruit and yogurt parfait, fresh coffee, grilled sourdough toast, potatoes (perhaps fondant?) and orange juice. Plus homemade cinnamon scones! We loved it and will go back in the summer to use the pool! This may be the nicest B&B I've ever stayed in. Thank you, Jan and Mark!

We didn't want to drive with our kids after partying all night, so we chose to rent a room nearby. It was clean and the cable worked. The person checking us in was not so nice, but we didn't see the jerk again because someone else checked us out the next day. The beds were not the most comfortable, but it was okay to spend the night. No bedbugs or smoke smell, which was all that our family cared. It was loud from the noise of traffic on Saginaw and Court St and the expressway, which didn't die down until late, but the cost was very cheap, so it was okay for what we spent on a small motel.

Feel the sensation of dirt/grime on your feet. Some floors may have cigarette burns, gum, and much more for your feet to enjoy. Are you a fan of art? Then gaze upon the walls and ceiling with decade old paint full of multi-color artwork ranging from brown water stains, dirt, food stains, and other random designs. Life stressing you out? They got you covered. Here at East Village Inn, your room will come with broken Wifi, and 24-hour built-in aroma therapy. Rather you are laying on your bed, relaxing in a chair or soaking in the tub; close your eyes or enjoy the art work and breath in the exciting smells ranging from Back Alley Piss, Mighty Mildew, Musty Misery, Funky Feet, Classic Cigarette, and even some mystery scents. Most days you may experience multiple aromas at once and swear you died and went to Hell... I mean paradise. Feeling lonely? Not a problem as all rooms (including the Remodeled) have pets called Roaches that come in two types/colors and will keep you company in the main room and bathroom. If you're really lucky, you may have the honor of the more adorable exotic pets known as Cimex lectularius that absolutely loves to snuggle. Pets not enough? You may get a random visitor knocking on the door (not room service) asking for something, someone or to come in for nightly activities. Be sure to tip said person(s) if you use their services. Rather you're visiting Flint or just need a place to stay, why cheat yourself by staying elsewhere; come pamper yourself in luxury. East Village Inn... a cut above the rest.

The main road entrance starts with a welcome sign to Pine Knob Golf Course. The winding road will lead you pass the greens with golfers, then several expensive residential homes. There are two venue banquet buildings called The Carriage and this one called The Pine Knob Mansion. Both have valet parking service at their entrance doors. My photos attached will show how wonderful this place was from start to finish. The ceremony was outside in the Garden Gazebo area overlooking the ski lifts and property of Pine Knob with fold up chairs on the grass area. This venue can accommodate all seasons of the year for many memorable and personal events. The outdoor brick patio was large enough for both cocktail hour after ceremony and again in the evening with a DJ for music and dancing. The Bride and Groom performed their special dances together on it plus with their parents. The wedding and party time continued till midnight! The efficient servers were very attentive when eating the plated sit-down dinner. They also served refill of waters quickly too. The Formal banquet room was very elegant with Chiavari Chairs, along with great lighting. Check out my attached photos of Jess and Phil's special and lovely wedding which expresses it all! The Food was Fantastic and Oh My Deeeelicious along with Great plate presentation! This location can be found on The Knot and has different price packages based on your event for food and desserts. My Friends Phi and Jess opted to bring in their own seasonal desserts with cider and donuts along with mini parfait desserts for that special Fall Style Theme. My photos attached shows a wooden wall with pegs on it for displaying the variety of donuts. What a wonderful and impeccable wedding venue for Phil & Jessica. Thanks to the terrific and pleasant staff who showed teamwork working together serving here at The Pine Knob Mansion. Sincerely, Karen N. SpecialK :-)
