Great Hotel with a great view of the falls, clean rooms and a great bar by the lobby !!

Had a few issues with cleanliness when we checked in but the way the staff and especially the manager handled everything really just made the experience 100% better. Everyone working here was so kind and accommodating and the breakfast was so fresh and delicious! They had so many options even for gluten free guests. Really can't praise the manager enough for how he runs this hotel and how he handles problems. Will definitely be back. read more

The rooms were clean but the breakfast is why I say it is 5 stars. As a business traveler we stay in tons of hotels. This breakfast was the best one I've had. Peter and GIGI make a great breakfast. The eggs are fresh and not powered. The scones are homemade. It was a great treat before a long car trip. I love GIGI's passion for her customers and welcoming us this morning. The hotel looks nice and is clean. The room is comfortable tho a little older. The room temp was good. Its an OK hotel. What I didn't like is not a deal breaker but disappointing.... Front desk staff unfriendly when we checked in. Like I was a nuisance, but i was only checking in. On the app there is a chat to request things like towels ans such but they don't seem to check it or respond. I tried to call front desk to ask if they had the towels we needed but the hotel phone didn't work. So then tried calling on my cell ph and no one answered. They had only given us 2 towels for 4 guests. Breakfast. On the website it says buffet breakfast. I know a lot of hotels have modified this since covid and we stayed at a Marriott brand hotel in Dallas 6 months ago and they were back to breakfast as normal. However, I called a couple days before check in to see what they are serving for Breakfasts and they said grab and go and mentioned it would have a sausage sandwich. But all we got was a muffin, small yogurt and a juice. They have coffee in the breakfast area. That's disappointing. The toilet seat is broken and slides back and forth. read more

We stayed here while we were in transition to moving to another state for 9 days. The employees weren't that pleasant. It seemed to me that I was bothering them at work. There was only one person that I encountered the entire time I was that didn't seem to have any issues. The exterior and stairwells were filthy. Pet hair, trash, broken glass (parking lot), and litter were a constant. I guess they figured if the rooms were cleaned that would suffice. The location was ideal. After being disgusted and having to cancel my reservation, I decided to stay at this hotel due to the Marriot reputation. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. I was all checked in and everything was going to be fine. However, when my guests and I bought in our luggage we thoroughly and found crumbs in the pull out couch bed, old sheets that were left by a former guest. Then the matter got worst, as later that evening as I am ready to retire for the evening, a huge cocker roach "water bug" was crawling on the ceiling. I called the front desk to notify them and ask for a Manager and was informed that they were sorry, however the manager will be back on Monday and I could take the Managers business card at the front desk and speak to him on Monday. read more

BEDBUGSSS... Beware of the bedbugs. I have stayed here for a 5 day business trip, and my room is #426. Felt so disappointed and they have bedbugs on the bed!!!!! At the least 5+ bedbugs. Sucks. Even the hotel manager helped me change to another room and gave me some points, but still bedbugs made me feel uncomfortable. 1 star for sure. read more

So I booked two rooms at this location based on my relationship with Marriott. Marriott should be embarrassed to put their name on this property. Where to start..... the toilet spewed water when you went to flush. And sometimes wouldn't flush. We were only given 2 bath towels for 4 people. When we asked for additional towels, they were out of bath towels and were given hand towels. My 6'6" son was humored by this. Our second room had a shower curtain rod that was hanging on by a thread. The air conditioner in that room also sounded like an Apache Helicopter making it impossible to sleep. Let's get to "breakfast". There were limited options and the options they did have were barely palatable. The hard boiled eggs that were available were bland and we were told that they were out of salt and pepper. WTAF? Thank god there was a Starbucks down the road. By room rate with taxes was $151 but my card was charged $180. When I questioned it, I was told it was for incidentals... in case something was broken. I wanted to ask what they did with this money since none of the broken items in our room appeared to be fixed . I was told it could take up to 5 business days to get this extra money back in my account. I wouldn't normally mind except everything here appeared to be such a shit show. To add insult to injury, when I used the restroom in the lobby before leaving there were fruit flies buzzing around. I will be lodging a complaint with Marriott. read more

This hotel is disgusting. And the staff was the rudest I've ever dealt with and I travel a lot. They charge you for incidentals when there is NO drinks or snacks even in your room. We got to our room and there was a dirty towel with hair on it hanging in the shower. It was late so I was like oh gosh so gross. Whatever. But then the sink was fully stopped up and I couldn't brush my teeth. I called the front desk and the man there was super rude and hung up on me when I asked for another room. In the middle of the Coronavirus things should be extra extra clean. This hotel was super dirty. And on top of that, old banged up furniture, people talking in the hallway super loud at 1am. And with the rude staff! Ha never again. Go somewhere else. This hotel should be $50 a night. Definitely not worth $150 a night. read more

The location was perfectly located for all the places I needed to frequent and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. Even recommended a few places to eat and see to get used to the area. We normally stay at Fairfields because you can rely on them. Unfortunately, that has not been the case with the past few we've stayed at. All I want is a clean room. I did not receive that. The bathroom floor was disgusting. So dirty and sticky. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months! I wiped a small area and you can see the filth coming off. No tissues, only 2 small thin towels, light by bed not working, blow dryer hanging on the wall by a thread, and bottom sheet for bedding was ripped. I did not have breakfast but my husband said there was very little available. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

My husband our 10 year old black lab and I checked in yesterday around 3 ! We were not greeted when we walked in he just asked for our name and credit card so I gave him my name and credit card ! No small talk just cut and dry ! We got up to our room #211 and I was just sickened , disgusted and so disappointed ! I took photos of all the items i immediately noticed ! We were 5 1/2 hours from home so my husband just said we keep quiet as we had no other options and were pretty much trapped here for two days as we were visiting family ! I was just so overwhelmed and sickened so around 2 hours later after I cooled down as I didn't want to be a crazy lady demanding a CLEAN ROOM my husband and I went down to the lobby to complain. A gentleman looked at my photos heard my complaints and a lady offered to clean our room ! I politely asked for clean sheets as I would do it as I just know the bed was not freshly made and I could literally smell someone else slept in that bed as the sheets were never changed for a new check in , my family ! The pictures Also show the hair in that bed didn't belong to my husband or I ! She insisted on sending house keeping up to clean - to be honest the house keeper made the bed with fresh sheets and vacuumed that was all ! Do I recommend this hotel ? Heck no ! I will never ever return here ! The only reason I'm giving 1 star is because you can't give 0 stars - we would of been better off sleeping in our car than to stay at this nasty hotel that charged my credit card immediately ! I Have no problem paying but when they put me in a room that's so gross , unclean and disgusting and even are willing to let me sleep in a bed that someone else slept in I promise I will never come to another fairfield inn and suites ever -------- ps. We had a recent lovely experience w/Fairfield Inn in Sevierville, TN, so thought we'd try this one. Bonus, I had enough points for a free night. I guess you get what you pay for. Poor service at check-in, only 2 'Days Inn quality' towels. No hot water, poor water pressure, dirty shower, Never did let us know breakfast hours, but Celiac husband stopped by, not one thing he could eat. Usually the breakfasts have a protein and a fruit he can make due with, but no such luck here. I would move on to another property if I were you . . . read more

I've stayed at a super 8 cleaner than this place. Service is bare minimum which I really don't care about, can't force anyone to do there job nicely but the rooms were disgusting. Marriotts are supposed to be known as "clean" but it looks like they never even wipe anything down. There was some weird white stain on the head board too ... Comfortable, clean and nice staff, but my only complaint was that I could not get my room cool in the winter time. The heat was was crazy stuffy and no matter how low we turned the thermostat, that dry heat would not turn off. read more

I actually picked this hotel last minute on my way to the Homewood Suites .. (I didn't properly read the reviews because i was blinded by the amazing price...I started reading the reviews and they were absolutely appalling!!!! Disgusting! Always always always read reviews lol. ) So i cancelled about 30 minutes before arrival and called to book here!! I was very happy with my choice to stay at Fairfield!! It was clean, staff super friendly! Walked right into my room with the room already cooled down. I have no complaints for my stay! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.. i did pay about $140 for my one night, but it was def worth the price for peace of mind knowing i won't have roaches crawling on me! My kids were happy too! Breakfast was delicious and a nice little spread, pool was quaint and perfect for the kids to let out some energy. The beds were very comfortable, bathroom was of decent size .. nice water pressure. read more

When I checked in, the room had no bath towels (only hand towels) and had a roll of clearly once soaking wet toilet paper in the bathroom (what was is soaked with?....) Towels were not delivered when requested or returned when housekeeping came. Avoid this location unless you're ok with picking up towels daily at the front desk and staying in a dirty hotel. This is a decent hotel. Really cute interior which features lime green and really brightens up the place (not that it's dark). I had a room with two double beds. A microwave and fridge were included which was nice. I was there to two nights so I actually used the fridge. The beds were soft, but it would have been nice to have an extra blanket. The blanket was pretty thin so I kept the air off for most of my stay. The exercise room is functional but small. There's two treadmills and one elliptical. Each of the cardio machines has it's own tv which is nice. There is also a few free weights. Free wifi throughout the hotel (you don't need a password for it) and free breakfast daily are nice perks. read more

Stayed here 3 nights for the Ft. Jackson Military graduation. Overall, the hotel is a nice choice. It's located off a busy street but winds through a long driveway so it's sort of secluded. Parking is plentiful even when returning at 9pm. The room is clean, bed is super comfortable, and the free breakfast is decent. Check in was a breeze and the female counter person checking me in was nice, friendly, and efficient. Location is close to the graduation, about a 5 minute drive on and off the freeway. Graduation tip: Leave a minimum of 2 hours early as the wait to get into the gate takes forever. If you see a line, get in it! That's the line for the entrance. I was at the gate 2 hours early (7am) and by the time I passed through security, seating was already full. Back to the hotel review: The MAJOR ISSUE is the thin walls. You can hear everything happening in the next room. My neighbors were having a simple conversation and it was as if I was in the same room with them. Every time they placed something on their nightstand, I could hear the clunk. You can hear the neighbor's toilet flush and their shower turning on. When one of them sneezed, I felt the need to say bless you! I had to turn on the tv to drown out their noises. The annoying part of this was that they had a dog (pets are allowed on property) that barked often and I could hear them yelling at the dog to stop for the 3 nights I was there. My suggestion is this place is great if you're traveling by yourself which I was so I could deal with the noises. If you plan on having any romantic nights or are traveling with children, be advised that your neighbor will hear every noise you make. I read reviews before I booked this place and none of them mentioned the thin walls so I just wanted to put that information out there. Another issue to be aware of: do not leave your belongings in your car in the parking lot. This is no fault of the hotel but something to be wary of. My first night there someone's car alarm went off in the middle of the night. The next night I left a bag in the trunk of my car. I don't know how but my bag was stolen. The car didn't look tampered with so I'm not sure how it happened. Thank goodness it was just candy and chips in the bag but the bag was from a trip to Bali and is irreplaceable. My suggestion for Ft. Jackson visitors is to stay at a hotel on base. Everyone else, this is a nice hotel. Just be mindful of the thin walls and unscrupulous characters hanging around the hotel. read more

Horrible experience my wife was bit up by bed begs and they refused to give me a refund after not staying the entire weekend.

Where we arrived we tried to use the phone to ring the reception desk and no one answered. We ended up having to knock on the glass doors before anyone heard us. When we checked in, the gentleman, Robert I believe, says that he wasn't able to find our reservation which was booked online at the corporate website not using a third party service. I had special requests in the invite none of which were honored. We were not told about breakfast, wi-fi, checking or check out times, there was hair from what appeared to be pets in the floor of our room room to which I am allergic. I did submit a request for vacuuming that never took place. We requested additional washcloths and were told that they had none. When we checked out, there was no one at the front desk to collect our things and I saw several Representatives sitting in a corner using their cell phones. Overall, just a very poor stay and I will never consider Fairfield inn again for any of my future endeavors. If this is a representation of what Marriott it's completely disappointing. read more

During my stay the hotel was very loud. (Outside noise from the highway) Service at the front desk was less than stellar and there wasn't a safe in my room. (Nor the other two rooms that my collegues were staying in.....Odd....) Breakfast was cold and stale but the Diet Pepsi and Aquafina I picked up were excellent! read more

FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS! When it comes to finding a hotel, we have some very basic requirements regarding location. It has to be away from the downtown area in order to avoid congestion, parking problems and noise. We like it to be in a quiet area but with great access to stores and restaurants for convenience. When it comes to the hotel itself, it needs to be CLEAN, have a nice modern decor, be staffed with pleasant people and have accessible services, (I like having an iron and ironing board in my room). It has to have free wireless internet, exercise room, fridge and microwave accessible business computers, a knowledgeable staff, a nice room and bath and a GREAT bed. This hotel fired on all cylinders and met all of our needs. It was conveniently located to everything we needed. Also, it was very quiet throughout our stay and we slept very well on our very comfortable king bed. I loved that the bathroom had a walk in shower with glass doors instead of the usual bulky tub and clumsy shower curtain. Nice design! I would definitely return to this hotel in the future and I certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the area. My wish: I would love to see 3 way lighting fixtures placed in the room so that visitors have more control over the amount of light they want or need. Current bulbs are way to bright. read more

This was a decent hotel in the Columbia area that offered everything we needed on business travel. The room was pleasant, offered a great night's sleep, the room came equipped with internet, however, the wireless was super slow. Normally, I wouldn't deduct another star for a breakfast issue, but with nothing in the area for breakfast, and counting on their breakfast for a small work briefing in the morning, I was truly disappointed when I went down (at 8am) to find that most items were out of stock, not replenished, and no one working the breakfast area. I walked to the front desk for help and she told me that they were out of some items and she couldn't do anything about it. Huh??? With little to offer in the area re: hotels, Fairfield was a good choice as it was clean, and safe, but don't count on them for breakfast, or at least have a back-up plan. read more

nce checkin on Wednesday. He discussed that he in fact is currently on Medical leave and should not be at work. He explained that he will contact me when he is available.( he is standing at that point directly in front of me in a empty lobby). I apologized that he had to work when he should be on medical leave but his staff has disclosed to me on several attempts that he was either at lunch.l, just left and should return, off for the day. I provide my personal contact number to the staff as well for contact. He was very indigent in his response repeating that he was on medical leave and he should not be here now. I explained that I understood and requested corporate contact number. He stated that it will only come back to him. I politely requested his name. He replied I can do better I can give you my card ( he did) he also provided me the contact number to gift card and rewards not the request corporate number. When I was able to locate the correct contact number and wait one hour for a call back. After explain the situation and disclosing my personal medical history, and expressing my concern about my comprised health risk. And that we personally cleaned and sanitized the room but requested that the room be vacuum and the other concerns be addressed. I was informed by the customer service representative that there is nothing that could be done regarding our situation from Marriott. I was instructed to contact the regional manager but they could not provide the information. I would have to obtain the information from Mr. Bower but he probably would not give it to me. This is a standard Fairfield Inn with the same amenites that you can expect at any in the chain. Free WiFi and free low quality breakfast buffet being two of the standards. The desk personnel are friendly and the housekeeping staff keep your room clean. I did like that there was a substantial sized mini fridge in my room (about 3 feet tall) that had room for leftovers, snacks, and a gallon of milk. The room also had a 4-cup coffee maker and a small microwave. The biggest drawback is that this location is just about 50 yards from a major interstate that seems to have big-rig trucks travelling it all night. As a high status rewards member, I couldn't figure out why they put me on the same side of the hotel as the freeway, which made it difficult to sleep every night; however I doubt that any room in the building would have been immune from the noise. The pool is outdoor and unheated and the exercise room has only three machines, two treadmills and one eliptical-like machine. I would recommend that you pick a different location as this place is very noisy from the nearby interstate freeway. read more

i called to do my reservation online because i had a couple of questions. i was told they had a special on a suite with 2 queen beds for $103. I was charged $131. Then I was charged a "reservation booking service" of 14.99. i have stayed here before and it is a decent hotel but i could have stayed somewhere much nicer and just as close for less. was very upset about these extra charges. I was also put on hold several times during the booking. the person did not know the area (seemed like a call center) and i could not understand what he was saying several times. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay and great customer service. The staff was very friendly and helpful and when I got to my room it looked and smelled fresh and sqeaky clean. Their free breakfast was very impressive, with everything from fresh Belgium waffles to Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. I also enjoyed the free internet access and great fitness center. Each piece of equipment has its' own personal flat screen! When I come to Columbia again I will def be staying here! read more

I had a clean room but the air conditioner/heat didn't work. The room stayed at 73 all night. I let the front desk know but there's was no improvement for my second night stay. Seems like airconditioning is a basic amenity-what a shame. read more

I rate this hotel 2 out of 5 stars. My check in experience was wonderful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The window view was amazing. I'm a nature person, so the tree line and waterfall view was breathtaking. My first night stay was wonderful, but as my stay continued, too many issues occurred. I complained to the front desk, that my bath tub wasn't cleaned from the night before. There was a black ring in the tub. Instead of sending someone up to clean it, they gave me courtesy points. The next day, I turned everything off, and shut the door at 6am. I didn't get back to my room until 4pm. The door to my room didn't catch and the room wasn't closed after housekeeping left. I Don know how long it had been left open, but my room looked like it had been riffled through. The bed was frumpled as though someone was laying on it, the TV was left on, the trash had not been emptied, and my ipod was gone, and on top of all that, there was still a black ring in the tub. I got what seemed to be excuses, and they came a mile a minute. Well, the "door just didn't catch" is what the manager said to me. He assured me that he would get back to me that night, and he never did. What started off as a great stay slowly turned into a nightmare. Would I stay there again? Yes, if all the other hotels in the city are sold out! read more

The entire staff went out of their way to help us with our needs (evacuated with dogs). Can not say enough positive things about this hotel.
