    Rock Barn

    Rock Barn

    (8 reviews)

Rock Barn or The Crescent Farm Historical Center was built in 1906 and according to The Cherokee…read moreCounty Historical Society it is believed to be the only surviving Rock barn in existence. It's one of six places in Cherokee county listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's next to the Canton Elementary School and Cherokee High School. There is a Bruster's Ice Cream nearby. From the outside it's got this modern industrial rustic cool vibe to it....now don't take this the wrong way but as a Walking Dead fan... the entire time I was here I felt like Darrell in that scene where he first discovers Hershel and his family have been keeping "walkers" inside the barn on the property.... So now that I've put visuals in your head of zombies...lets talk about this place as an event venue....first off the place can be rented for events, weddings and sorts. You do have to be a member of The Cherokee Historical Society and their membership is about $25.00 for an individual...which I'm all for because these guys really work hard to promote and preserve buildings of the past. The rental fees are on their website but it looks very reasonable. From $300 to $1200 depending on what day you want to rent it... Even if you don't rent it personally I think it's a cool looking barn and not a bad place for a photo opt....Walking Dead style....

I know 3 who have this location reserved with deposits for their upcoming weddings and they all have the same issue. No response to important questions or requests. Something as simple as providing the contract and receipt of down payment for which the bride was told she would receive "immediately". That was more than 2 weeks ago. Beware, if you want a no stress venue, this may not be it. The complete lack of communication will undoubtedly cause issue's for your planning and a ton of unecessary stress.

It's beautiful but doesn't have a round table which was what worked best for our event. I booked the Duchess of Bedford for my 17 year old daughter's birthday. She and 5 of her friends were guided to the Venetian and since we had a cancellation due to illness, I enjoyed a solo high tea in the Buckingham across the hall. The Grande has an extensive tea menu from black teas to herbal to rooibos. They light a delightful warmer at your table to keep your tea heated. The soup and salad came first. It was all absolutely delicious. Fresh pear adorned the mixed fields greens and the tomato soup had a dash of creme fraiche. Even the teens raved about them! The tower of finger sandwiches and desserts was also thoughtfully curated and delicious. The egg salad, pimento cheese and scones were so fresh! All of it was! The girls were able to each have their own tea pot and treats. In the Looking Glass room, they had a backdrop with props as well. It really was so lovely. Don't think about it- just go!

Dangerous location!!! I had cancer surgery at Northside…read moreHospital on Thursday. Recovered there Friday. Saturday morning at 7 am I asked the Manager, Walter why no breakfast. I was shocked when he said I should have gotten my lazy ass down there early. Then he called me an F-ing a-hole for asking for adjustment for no breakfast. Told him I was reporting him the Choice customer service and he really went ballistic! Charged around the desk out into lobby and started shaking fists in my face. Called me a "F-ing douchebag" twice. I told him I had just had major cancer surgery the day before and he said, "yeah, I hope your F-ing cancer kills you SOB!! A maid witnessed the entire assault. GM would not return my calls even after Choice told her to. Finally called her and she said they were afraid to fire him as he had already punched another guest in the face!! I'm posting video of assault. Checked yesterday and he's still working there! I should have called 911 but was horrified and especially weak after major surgery and wanted out fast. Turning over to my attorneys! Warning not a safe place!!! Do not stay here!!!

What can I say, it's a dump. I've been here for 5 nights this week and it is by far the worst…read morehotel I've ever stayed at. Why? you may ask. Let's start with the room. It's advertised as Quality Inns and Suites. I reserved a suite and got a room with a junior sized couch which I guess makes it a suite. The size is OK so we will let that go. The construction includes hollow doors for entry and between your room and the next door room. Hollow doors do not block the sound of your noisy neighbors or of the hallway. Lucky me, all night movie channel TV at speaker blowing volume. Also, loud talking from the lobby area at 3 AM that my wife had to call to get them to tone it down. Moving onto hotel services. When did it happen that daily room service to clean, change the towels, and make the bed became a thing of the past? This hotel posts a notice that says room service "must" be done every third day. So inthe course of 5 days the Bed was made twice, the two towels each were changed twice, the kleenex boxes (2) were refilled zero and once, and the trash emptied once. No new soap. And that hot breakfast that has continued to be included in their advertising was non existant. They substituted some bananas, yogurt and sweet rolls; except that by the end of the secondout of three breskfast hours, all was gone. The staff in the office were courteous and helpful to the extent within their power, but they dont do the cleaning or refill the breakfast trays. Do yourself a favor and pass this place by.
