Came to this particular Hampton Inn for a business trip. The person at the desk had a personality of a wet mop. She did as little as possible to get her job done. You see my colleague reserved the rooms for the group but she didn't bother to put the actual person staying in the rooms on each receipt. Why is it a big deal? Two reasons I paid with my own company credit card so it limited my abilities get Hilton rewards points. While doing my expense report I had to explain for audit purposes why my name wasn't on the receipt. So she checks my drivers license while checking in but can't go the extra step. The room was fine more importantly clean. I got up in the night to discover, limited refreshment options so I bought a Coke to wash down my medication. Lastly the elevator did not work, you have to push the up button as the down button didn't work to even call the elevator. Once inside it thankfully let's you chose it to go down. I did tell the desk at check in day as well as the next morning they didn't seem to care. I feel sorry for anyone that either was handicapped and couldn't figure a work around out or had to take the stairs. My colleague that stayed here before says they don't care. He even one visit checked out and chose another hotel twenty miles away because it is even worst if you have to stay here more than one night. Listen I get the staffing shortages in hospitality but I am sure there has to be better staff than this? read more

I checked in down the road before I got here so I could skip the front desk and go right to my room. The phone key still was not generated by the time I made it to the hotel, so I still had to stop by the front desk. I got to my room and started Lysoling. I cleaned the sitting chair and my rag turned black afterwards. I had one lamp that the bulb was out and the desk lamp didn't work. I called the front desk and they sent maintenance up. He replace the bulb and told me "the lamp works you just have to push it really hard". After he left, the lamp was then stuck in the "on" position. The on/ off button was broken. I unplugged the lamp and called the front desk to let them know they needed to replace the lamp but I didn't want anymore disturbances. Also, I have an ice bucket lid, but no ice bucket. It is now after midnight and the people in the room next to me have either just checked in or just came in from drinking. They are riding the luggage cart up and down the hallway screaming "free rides", like it's Spring Break in Panama City. Again, I call the front desk. I then have to call AGAIN. The lady at the desk said she would come up. Why do you NOT have security here is beyond me. All of this for $188.00 Never again! read more

When we first arrived, we had issues with tv not working and the fridge not working. We went to the front desk to notify them of the issues. The sweet and extremely kind night clerk was amazing. Her name was Tammy. I called her Ms. T. She moved us to a new room without any problem at all. She made our stay extremely wonderful. Decent clean place to stay. As a Hilton lifer, there are not many options the north side of the state. The staff is helpful, the rooms are spacious and the hotel is standard. My main knock is the thin walls (as expected with this style of construction) and I'd recommend asking for a top floor room away from the elevator. I also wasn't pleased with the water pressure (again by no fault of the hotel, just the construction) which is my biggest pet peeve regarding hotels. I'd stay again. read more

Simply the nicest little Hampton Inn I've stayed in for ages. When I arrived to check in a guy was giving Allison (who was working the front desk) a very hard time. It sounded like he was trying to extend his booking and couldn't because they were full. She handled him politely, professionally and made space for me despite his continued insistence that he was being treated terribly (he wasn't). The room was sparkly clean and I had a wonderful nights sleep. Breakfast, was amaze balls. No other words for a free buffet in a small town inn that was extensive. I particularly liked the warm fresh biscuits hanging out in a slow cooker next to gravy and bacon. What more can you ask for? Coffee was great too. I'll definitely be back. read more

I have stayed at many different Hampton and Hilton properties and this place is just average in comparison. The room is spacious but the plumbing sucked. The toilet needed some good handle jiggling each time, the water pressure sucked, the WiFi was slow and the heater was noisy. Outside those setbacks, the TV was excellent, the bed was comfy and the staff was very nice. read more

Not super pleased with this place. Beds are uncomfortable. The toilet in room 201 continued to run ALL the time after being flushed. The sink didn't drain. The shower/tub didn't drain. The ONLY thing we bothered the front desk for was pillows and she said "we're sold out"... Sold out? Pillows aren't for sale in a hotel. Really irritating. read more

Nicest hotel in Canton for sure...what can I say...t's a Hilton. Right off the freeway, nextdoor to restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores & pharmacies, clean rooms, comfy beds and a hot breakfast- you can't go wrong here. Definitely on the pricey end but when you want that vacation feel or a weekend getaway in the mountains, this is a good start. Only the Holiday Inn Express has a pool is the reason for not being a 5 star. I snuck some pictures in for Yelpers! read more

We were evacuating from Tampa, FL ahead of Hurricane Irma and needed a place to stay the night. I am a Hilton Honors member and usually it's a great place to stay. Unfortunately my experience at this hotel left me very angry and the reviews are correct on how unprofessional and rude the staff at this location operate. We made a reservation ahead of time, and called the front desk to let them know we would be a late arrival. Due to traffic it took fifteen hours to arrive from Tampa. We arrived at 4 am. When we checked in, the front desk clerk was already angry and unpleasant. When we asked for late check out she informed me that check out is eleven am. They don't honor late check out, but I could speak to someone in the morning about it. Well three hours later I called to ask if I could get late check out, no. I explained I had arrived late. Well we can do 1130, but the housekeeping staff wants to go home. I said you seriously can't do any later? OK, I can do twelve noon. I just gave up and said fine. Well ten minutes later she calls my room to see if I am in the correct room. Yes I am in this room. Ten minutes later she calls again to confirm I am actually in that room. Yes and I am trying to sleep before driving another fifteen hours! When I checked out the same rude gal was at the front desk so I asked how many people are checking in before two o'clock? How many rooms are at this hotel? She responds check in is at 3 o'clock. How long does it take to clean a room because I know the answer to that. It's less than thirty minutes. At this point she calls the manager over because she knows I am seriously pissed off. The manager says I don't see any reason they couldn't stay until 2 o'clock. The clerk says well the housekeeping would need to stay late. The manager said so. After explaining the situation to the manager she stated late check out is not a policy of the hotel. I am a very understanding person, but I will never understand sending someone out of a hotel early that needs to sleep because they are traveling a great distance. I would rather tell a guest that is checking in at 3 pm I am sorry your room won't be ready until 4 pm because we had a late check out than send someone out on the road tired and have them cause an accident. The staff at this hotel seriously need some customer service training and how to talk to customers using respect and have compassion. So what if the housekeeping has to stay a little late one day. If it becomes an issue hire a housekeeper to come in later in the day and clean the late check out rooms. For what it's worth the room was clean and comfortable. The bed is firm and the pillows flat like a usual Hampton Inn. The walls are thin and you can hear people getting ready. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who needs late check out. read more

5 stars for allowing us such an early check-in before we had to start getting ready for the wedding we were in town for -- we were in our room before noon and had plenty of time to relax after a long drive. A couple of floors were undergoing renovations, but our room on the top floor had no noise. Very comfortable beds, and good water pressure in the shower too. A great stay! read more

I stayed here with my daughter and granddaughter for six days. It's clean, efficient, and close proximity to Hwy 575 and many businesses. I would stay here again. My granddaughter enjoyed the heated pool. Nice to have breakfast included. Not fancy, but clean snd reasonable. Everyone was very courteous. read more

I rarely write a negative review, but the Hampton Inn in Canton, GA is hands down the worst hotel experience I have had in many years. I am a frequent global traveller and cannot believe the complete and utter lack of customer service, respect and professionalism displayed by the front desk staff. My best friend's wedding was held north of Canton and this seemed to be the best option for accommodations in the area. We were absolutely wrong. After the wedding, the party came back to the hotel and congregated in the lobby, peacefully celebrating the joyous milestone in our friends lives. We did not intend to stay there, we were simply waiting on taxis that never came. Instead of allowing us to wait and talk amongst ourselves, the front desk called the police. On a wedding night, even other guests of the hotel joining the group to celebrate with us. After the taxis never arrived, we went upstairs to a quieter area, and the front desk called the police again. Certainly, I understand management needing to control crowds and guests with decorum and order. I work professionally as a writer/director in film and know how this works. But to summon the police for a peaceful gathering on the most joyous night of a couple's lives is not only egregious, it's tacky. If you're looking to bring a group to this hotel, avoid at all costs. They lack the intelligence and ability to work with crowds and large groups, despite their well appointed accommodations. Perhaps they should consider hiring an educated staff, versed in customer service and relations. read more

I attempted to block off a group of rooms for my Wedding on Labor Day weekend. Initially, I was told by the reservations department they only had 9 rooms available. After speaking with the group sales department, I was told they had up to 30 rooms available and would send me the terms and conditions by the next morning. So for two days I called asking where it was, and they kept telling me it was being handled. Then on the 3rd phone call, I was told that they couldn't block rooms at a group rate, but I could still block rooms. GREAT. They transferred me to reservations who said they couldn't do it and I needed to be transferred back to group sales...who didn't answer the phone. It's unfortunate when crappy communication skills makes a company miss out on a 200+ guests destination wedding. Luckily, the Country Inn and Suites right next door had me a quote with terms and conditions within 6 hours and I didn't have to jump through hoops to get them. I have a distinct feeling my guests will be happier there anyway. read more

We have stayed here several times and been pleased, but on this visit, we had THREE very large fraudulent charges on our debit card made by hotel staff. We had to have two corrected by our bank, requiring a card replacement and time without a card while traveling during the holidays. The third charge was even larger and took a week and a half to be removed from our bank account. Housekeeping staff did not replace towels and calls to manager were not returned. This hotel is very nice with super friendly front desk staff. I use yelp quite a bit but rarely write a review. I felt compelled this time due to some of the bad ratings on this hotel. The rooms are extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Bathroom looks spotless. Front desk area the same. Perhaps it was recently renovated. Either way.. I felt a little dread upon my arrival after reading the reviews and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. I truly love this place! Everyone of the staff in every department is so helpful and friendly! Rooms are updated and very clean! Breakfast is amazing. Manager's Reception (Mon-Wed) is great with beer/wine, a theme appetizer (Mexican, Wings/Sides, etc). We have been staying here over the years to visit family and they never disappoint! I thought this hotel was great. It's in a nice and quiet area. The rooms are nice and there is adequate parking. The complimentary breakfast was high quality and good. Although I didn't go they have a social hour with complementary wine. They use Neutrogena products and pretty much have everything you need. Like another Hampton I stayed at, this one does not have good soundproofing. You can hear toilets flushing through the walls and floors. That is my only complaint. read more

The only positive thing I have to say about this hotel is that the gym was always empty when I used it. I stayed here for an extended period of time (almost 6 weeks) and their house keeping staff was the worst I have ever experienced. 3 weeks in a row I would ask for my room to be cleaned as I left for work in the morning, and every evening when I got back it was never done. I would tell them the next day and ask for it to be done before I returned, and yet again it was not done when I got back to my room that day or even 2-3 days later if I left for the weekend. I even had to complain twice in one day (I left for 2.5 hours to run errands in-between these complaints) and MY ROOM WAS STILL UNTOUCHED WHEN I GOT BACK! They kept telling me it "must have been missed" but the only explanation is they are lazy and have no communication with their staff. If this room wasn't pre-paid for, I would have left already. I have been a member of Hilton Honors for years and this is by far the worst hotel ever. The glasses for the mangers reception were filthy, I had to go into their kitchen to wash one myself. The bathroom was not up to par the grout was all gross and brown and needs to redone. The stopper in the tub was not workings. There was little blood specks on the sheets.The staff is uncultured and seemed uncomfortable have an African American person in the hotel. The housekeeping staff were very rude and displayed unprofessional behavior. I was so uncomfortable at this hotel that I checked out. Save e the frustration and go to the holiday inn behind it or drive to the next city. Thumbs all the way down for customer service. read more
