The staff was very nice and helpful. The girl at the front desk told us the indoor pool wasn't very warm so we skipped it. The outside of the building needs some updating and the shower curtain in our room had a dirty hand print on it. The breakfast was standard fare for continental. We visited on August 25, 2024. Check in experience: Used booking.com. Arrived at hotel and found the clerk asleep with his head on a keyboard at the reception desk. Hallway: Smelled of marijuana. Reported to clerk who gave me Febreze to spray. Room: Filthy, no trash bags in trash cans. Stains on the couch. Within an hour, the bottom of my son's feet were black from filth. We also found a few hairs around the nightstands by the bed. Check out experience: We stayed an hour and left. Clerk was unconcerned about our issues. Booking.com called the hotel for days to get a refund but no one would answer the phone. DO NOT stay here. Ever. read more

Your belongings are not safe at this hotel. Despite having a PRE-PAID RESERVATION, the manager had a staff member enter my room a DAY BEFORE I was to depart and remove everything. I returned to my room to find the door open and everything gone. I luckily found everything thrown into a trash bag, apparently on its way out the door. Laptop, medical equipment, medications, all my clothing. Just thrown into a trash bag. Laptop/CPAP appear damaged as well by the rough treatment, or will at least require some effort to repair. When confronted , the manager said "we saw you took the do not disturb sign off your door, so we assumed you checked out." A direct quote. I'd previously stayed here many times. But your belongings aren't safe from the current management. There are many other - safer - options nearby. BEWARE. read more

I really struggled to rate this place because I really think that this place is below average for a Fairfield, but it's also priced at a similar level to the Quality Inn, not other Fairfield's/Hampton etc. in the area. Taking that into account, I'm willing to give three stars even though it was more deserving of two considering it's a Marriott. The exterior and lobby were kind of rough looking and didn't smell the best, but were clean and felt safe at least, which also sums up the parking lot. The elevator and third floor hallway were the same story, a bit rough, and a bit dark but not dirty. As for the room, it was a mixed bag. Upon entering, it had been renovated to look like newer Fairfield's, but wasn't done well. The furniture was falling apart, the microwave was rather beat up, and every surface felt dusty. The beds, while clean, weren't the comfiest, and the biggest annoyance was of the 4 outlets within reach of the bed, only one worked. The ones at the desk all thankfully did. The room also smelled terrible. The good here is that other than the issues I mentioned, the room was clean, the closet was nice, the fridge worked well, the TV was solid, and the HVAC worked. The carpet and walls were in good shape too. The bathroom is a similar story of being all over the place. It was clean in some areas, the sink worked well, the toilet did too, the shower was in solid shape, and the water pressure was fantastic. On the other hand, the door was filthy, the curtain rod was falling off the wall, and a used washcloth was left in the shower by a previous guest. The ventilation system was also very poor and was wreaking havoc on the walls and ceiling. I skipped the free breakfast as I always try to get Tim Horton's if I'm in an area with one, but it looked to be on par with other Fairfield's, as did the wifi and other amenities. The staff were also excellent. Really, the best description of this hotel is an acceptable budget hotel (though some of the cleanliness issues are still inexcusable) with budget pricing for the area, that happens to be a Marriott. I'll probably pay the 40 more a night to stay at the HIE or Hampton down the street next time, or even the very nice Fairfield at Kinetic Park I've stayed in before. read more

Do yourself a favor and stay in downtown Ashland. This is a dump, nowhere near a Marriott standard. Staff is rude, rooms are dirty and loud. Room phone started ringing at 1:30am. Seriously, if you are traveling for business, pass this place up. read more

I made this reservation from the road knowing where we were going to stop that night and I had my doubts as to how this place would be. But to my surprise, this is a really nice Fairfield Inn. It seems to have been recently renovated. The rooms are nice, the showers were nice and the area in the lobby has several seats and a large tv which we used to watch the end of the Sunday night football game. The girl working the desk that night was not overly friendly... but it didnt alter our stay or feeling about the place. If she wants to be miserable, more power to her. My only recommendation to someone staying... ask for a room on the back of the hotel away from the main road. There is a fair amount of road traffic and you can hear it in the room sometimes. read more

Room was fine. Bed was okay but I seemed to sink in it in that old mattress sort of way. Bathroom lighting was so dim I did my makeup at the bedroom desk. High point- water pressure high enough to blast your skin clean! The pool was closed. It's also in a dry county and with limited nearby restaurant selections. I go out East for work once a month every month and I needed to find a good hotel to stay at. This hotel was recommended to me by a friend and I have been very happy with this hotel. The receptionist that I mostly interact with is great, her name is Stephanie. If you can get her, she is fantastic. The gym is also equipped with two treadmills, and elliptical, a bench, and free weights. The breakfast is usually good as well. However, the oatmeal-o is usually pretty watery. Also, if you want better tasting water, go to they gym and get filtered water. Other than that it is a great hotel to stay at in the Ashland area. read more

Most disgusting hotel I've stayed in. Mildewed shower curtain,heavy soap scum in the tub with a DIRTY wash rag hanging on the tub faucet, hairs on the back of the toilet & laying on vanity top...we did not even get in the tub, it was so dirty. The room had heavy dust. The landscaping was overgrown & dead. I realize many are short handed but don't rent a room if you can't clean it first. read more

Hotel is clean, rooms are nice and staff was friendly and attentive. The only reason I am giving this one only three stars is due to the proximity to the noisy highway. If you are a light sleeper this will be a problem unless you either sleep with a TV or music on in the background. That being said, compared to the alternatives in the area this is still the best choice. Breakfast also leaves a bit to be desired. Biscuits, gravy and prepackaged bagels. Yuck. read more

I stayed at this hotel on June 4th, 2019. My truck was broken into during the night. The lady at the front desk was not sympathetic at all. I know this can happen anywhere but really aggravates me that the sheriff said he is called to this location several times a week and that the hotel was very aware and refuses to put up cameras. Not taking a precautionary to protect their customers. I will never stay at this Marriott property again. read more

This hotel is a perfect stop for families. My family ( husband and 6 year old daughter ) stay here a few times a year when visiting family. The rooms are very clean and all have a fridge and a microwave. The rooms also have a full length mirror in them. They have complimentary breakfast in the mornings. It is a typical breakfast nothing fancy but there are hot food items typically not found at most complimentary breakfast buffets. I have seen a waffle station and also biscuits and gravy among the usual suspect items found at breakfast. The dining area is nice and clean and the attendant always visible and available. I went down one morning just after breakfast closed and the lady was nice enough to get me some cereal and juice for my daughter. They have an indoor pool and hot tub. The pool is very small but its still nice that they have a pool. My 6 year old loves the pool so that makes us happy. There is also a small family owned Mexican restaurant that is not expensive and pretty good right next door to the hotel defiantly walk-able The only downside is that the parking lot is not very big so when the hotel is full occupancy its hard to find a spot to park. Other than that we love this hotel! read more

Moving out of state, had reservations here for 2 nights and had to change the dates because of our moving company. Still 2 nights... The lady we spoke to was so understanding and accommodating. The room is very comfortable and clean. It was such a great feeling to relax after 2 days of packing for our move. Where do I start? The hotel was nice, clean, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was decent. When we arrived, I paid cash for my two nights...we then left and went to a relatives house for the evening..during the time we were gone, there was an awful storm that knocked out the electricity. When we did get back to the hotel, everything was dark and there were no emergency back up lights, luckily we had a flashlight to get to our room...which was on the 2nd floor...my mother, who is disabled, can not climb stairs...the hotel did give her a free room on the bottom floor for the night. This was extremely nice of them. Our room was facing the main road, and we had to leave the window open as it was so hot. We did not get any sleep that night due to noise and being so hot. By the next evening, the electricity was back on. MUCH better night. We asked for a refund for the first night, as we had other relatives who stayed at other locations while in town...their night was totally refunded. We were told by the hotel that since we paid in cash, we could not get a refund???? However, the manager did give us enough points on our rewards card for a free night at any Marriott/Fairfield. Will def stay here again. read more

They have a new male manager who came into cut corners. Their breakfast bar is horrible now, good luck getting service and this manager is abrasive and rude! I called in advance and one of his staff told me it would be ok to bring my old blind poodle. When I got there he did not tell me it was NOT ok. He waited till I checked out and then hit me with a cleaning bill when my dog sits on her cushion all day. When I called and told him about it, he was rude and tried to get my brother in trouble who works for an affiliate company. All this AFTER his own employee told me it would be ok. When I asked why hes not standing by what his employees are saying...he said he doesnt have to. Hes a pathetic excuse for a manager of anything especially a business dealing with hospitality. trust me when i tell you to not stay here.. i'm still fighting for a refund after multiple calls and multiple complaints, they tell me that a refund has been issued, but still nothing.. and i would of never asked for one IF stephanie who works midnights had any customer quality sense to her. she closed the pool and hot tub when we were there b/c two small children had apparently "vandalized" the pool area, the children in question being at least six and they were in there w/their parents, so how they vandalized something i'll never know, anyway she shut the pool down two hours early w/a hotel full of guests and stated we could not use the hot tub either b/c it was too bubbly for a hot tub, which after mutliple times of us staying at this location, the hot tub is ALWAYS that bubbly, so again two hours early she shuts that down too and at first just stated the pool was vandalized by children thats why it was closed, so when we said, oh we were just going to get in the hot tub she said oh um thats closed as well. we live close to the hotel and we just go there for the pool and hot tub b/c they stay open the longest, but never again. when you call into their customer service dept, you have to basically put the phone receiver down your throat to scream at them b/c all they want to tell you is that your phone has a bad connection which is never the case, for some reason it sounds like everyone there sits in front of a fan and when you try to tell them no its not my phone its yours they simply say that cannot be the case. so one thing that did happen was the manager did offer me a free night or a refund, the refund we chose b/c we will NOT go back so she states no issue, i will send that thru, well needless to say here it is 9 days later from the day i spoke to her initially when she said she would offer me a refund and still not refund. please take my advice and go on to the next! i would not stay here .. read more
