Several major issues severely impacted our stay: Staff Smoking at Main Entrance: Staff members were repeatedly seen smoking right directly outside the hotel's front entrance, creating an unprofessional impression and forcing guests to walk through secondhand smoke. Repeated False Fire Alarms: The fire alarm went off three separate times throughout the morning--at 5:30 AM, 7:30 AM, and 9:30 AM. This caused extreme disruption and distress to my family. Uncontrolled Noise Disturbance: A dog in an adjacent room barked non-stop starting from 8:00 AM until we checked out at 10:30 AM. When reported, the front desk merely made a phone call to the room and knocked on the door once, taking no further action when the disturbance continued. The management's inability to resolve these ongoing disturbances rendered our room completely unusable for sleep or relaxation. I request a full refund for this stay and a prompt response detailing how these operational issues are being addressed.

She was threatening to kill the other person who was apparently her brother from what we overheard. She was calling him all kinds of curse words and she was very loud cursing and threatening to kill him. Around 8am we got up and went down for breakfast as it is advertised and there was nothing but cold cereal, juice and water. Sunday morning at 330am we was awaken to the people in the room above us. The ceiling/floor above us was very creaky and the person above us was walking back and forth and talking loudly to someone else in the room. This went on for over an hour. I called the desk around 4am and there was no answer. The person finally went to bed around 430am after keeping us up. A lot of people hang out in the back of the hotel parking area. It is a secluded lot in the back but if the front lot is full you have to park in the back. I would not recommend this Comfort Inn to stay at. The bed in our room was very uncomfortable and the pillows was old. I had to get additional pillows from the desk. The manager said the Country Inn pillows hadn't been replaced yet with Comfort Inn pillows. There is also no security patrols and the hotel needs it badly. During our stay, Courtyard High Point met the standard I expected of the Courtyard brand. We stayed in Room 419 on the 4th floor (top floor). It had a king bed and a sofa bed. For four nights, I spent 82,654 United Airlines MileagePlus award miles (cleared out my account) plus $419.96. I booked through United's website / United Hotels. I found this hotel through United because I was trying to use up all my miles. As an American Express Platinum card member, I have Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status without meeting any stay requirements. That said, I didn't notice nor took advantage of any of the Gold Elite benefits. I was supposed to receive a "welcome gift of points upon arrival" (none were posted to my account, which I had linked to the reservation), late checkout up to 2pm (didn't need it), and a complimentary upgrade to an enhanced room at check-in (didn't happen); subject to availability. Standard check-in and check-out times are 3pm and 12pm, respectively. As a Gold Elite, I'm also supposed to get faster free in-room Wi-Fi. I didn't get that either. I just connected to the standard free Wi-Fi, which was fine / usable, but I would've preferred faster internet. I called the hotel ahead of time to verify details and spoke with Toni. She was wonderful. Super nice and a shining example of excellent hospitality and customer service. Courtyard High Point is lucky to have her. The other staff that we interacted with were polite and professional. Our room was very spacious. It had an unusually long and wide entry area / hallway leading to the bed and sitting area; ideal for spreading out our luggage. We had a view of the old Oak Hollow Mall and parking lot. Part of the mall we could see is now the Roy B Culler Jr Senior Center, named after the former mayor of High Point. I went to his house when I was a kid and saw his elaborate model train set, but I digress. The bathroom was spacious as well. Outstanding shower water pressure. We had a microwave, mini fridge, and Keurig machine. Unfortunately, there was no free coffee in the lobby so we had to rely on Keurig coffee each morning (not our preferred coffee). Bummer. A lot of hotels in this tier offer fresh, hot, free coffee in the lobby. Cleaning service was every other day. There was one day when I had to go downstairs and ask for more Keurig K-Cup pods. The front desk manager took the time to research the bill and found out that the room number looked like my number but it was a different signature so she removed the charges from my room and made sure the true owner had the charges put on their bill. I enjoyed my time here and, in general, I think this is a great resort for the Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point). I was born and raised in High Point and remember when Grandover opened in 1999. After 27 years, I finally got to visit. From the golf course to the hotel, I could tell the property has seen better days (e.g., details in course conditioning and building maintenance). As I wrote in my review for the golf course separately, this is not uncommon for golf facilities that were built during the last golf course boom in the 80s and 90s. The hotel is still quite nice, though, and is on the higher, more luxurious end. I checked the 2026 listing of AAA Four Diamond hotels and Grandover is still on the list, along with the O.Henry Hotel, Proximity Hotel, and Kimpton Cardinal Hotel as the only four hotels in the Triad with that status. Cocktail hour and dinner took place in the Grandville Ballroom. I guesstimate there were about 150-175 attendees. The ballroom worked well for this event, including all A/V aspects. The buffet-style dinner was delicious; in particular, the short rib and cobbler. The bartenders at the hotel bar, 1808 Bar (named after the year the city of Greensboro was founded), were initially overwhelmed with the post-dinner rush. The bar appeared to be decently stocked and my drink, the Hugo Spritz (St-Germain, champagne, club soda) was refreshing. 1808 Bar is located right in front of the hotel restaurant, Finial. I stayed in Room 421, on the fourth floor, with a view of the fountains, parking lot, and a stretch of I-85 which I have driven on countless times over the years. I really liked my room. It was luxe and spacious. Consistent with resorts in this tier, some of the finer features included robes (no logo, though), a nice mini bar, personalized TV guest screen, and rain shower head. The bed was super comfy. The cost for one night was $249. After sales tax (6.75%) and occupancy tax (6%), the total was $280.75. The room charge was "resort fee exempt," so it was discounted from a normal stay since I stayed with a group. Service was professional and speedy. The bellhops were particularly welcoming, friendly, and eager to serve. The art gallery and golf mural rotunda are neat. My only criticism is that after golf, everyone tried to shower at the same time, which meant no hot water for many. I waited a long time for my shower water to heat up. However, the next morning when I took another shower, the water heated up in a normal amount of time.
