We parked on the East Bay Drive entrance (which has a very steep but short climb to view the bluffs). Please note the east entrance to the Bluff Trail has a limited number of parking spots with two porta-potty units instead of a full restroom. This is NOT the main entrance to the state park (which offers a larger parking lot and picnic benches). Although we did not have enough time to explore the other sections of the park or walk the full 1.3 miles of the Bluff Trail, I think the dramatic view of the drumlins with Lake Ontario in the background was more than worth the 1 hour drive from Penn Yan (on Keuka Lake) where we stayed for vacation. Another benefit of parking on the east end of the Bluff trail is that you have convenient walking access to Dragon View Beach (a popular spot to go swimming in the summer).

It's UNIQUE location offers 2 PLAYGROUNDS - one on the Bay, another one on Lake Ontario. Weather conditions differ, but between these two - you are "covered" more often. 2. Compared to other great Yacht Clubs in Sodus Point you don't have to deal with traffic, parking, lines in restaurants (except Jacks on the 4th of July), and 3. The Club facilities and members are wonderful AND A BONUS POINT - it is supper affordable to be a member!

This is a rocky beach with dramatic views of Lake Ontario. Our family visited in July 2025 on a…read moreSunday afternoon and found many locals here swimming. It's accessible from the small parking area next to the east entrance of the Bluff Trail at Chimney Bluff State Park. It's a wild beach so it does not have any restroom facilities or park benches. We walked along the right side to find a shaded area under a tree, but the area to the left has fewer trees. As it's next to a state park, be sure to clean up and remove any trash that you bring for picnics. Although the views of Lake Ontario and the shoreline are lovely at this location, one downside of visiting in mid-July is the constant presence of horse flies and other insects (be sure to bring bug repellent). One other minus is that the lakeshore is full of small and medium sized rocks (instead of fine-grained sand), so it's painful to walk barefoot along the lake shore bottom unless you have water shoes. That said, many locals seemed just fine with stepping on stones.

USED to be a decent marina. Last 3 years it has really declined…read more Clubhouse & bathrooms are nice. Ships store run by Bill is good. Service dept is the WORST ! Shoddy workmanship at twice the price. Used to be good but lost all their good people because of the marina "manager". Speaking of which, he's THE reason for the ongoing decline. NASTY temper, horrible with customers, in WAY over his head & seems to have a problem with "cocktails". Very unfriendly atmosphere there. There are WAY better marina's on Sodus Bay.

The fridge, a/c units, and beds were old and filthy. It took almost a week to get our $ back from the deposit. Don't let the website fool you (fake fotos). Your best bet is to send someone over to recon any old rental place like this and relay pix back. Outside a major remodel of these units by the owner (unlikely), stay away! I've heard much better things about the restaurant, but not all good!
