We have been using Faherty's for over 30 years for my special needs son who had a major miss formed him which requires him to get over a 2 1/2" lift on his right shoe. They have modified countless pairs of sneakers, dress shoes, dockers, adding the lift and making sure all of them fit and look incredible. We just picked up a new pair of Red Air Jordan's that they matched the red color on the lift and toe kick. went to did you pick up my orthotics, I was told I have to see somebody with me in a minute set there for 20 minutes. Someone comes in and waits on 2 people that came in after me. The girl behind the counter got my wife, Alexis and I will stop to help you until someone's available but I don't usually do this. She helped as much as we could she could accept her and waited and waited and waited, and one of the employees were finishing up with another customer, I thought well I'm next. Someone comes in the door and wants to buy shoe polish. He waits on him. I took my orthotics his counter and said I will come back and the girl at the counter said, he can help you, and he said oh, I was gonna go do something else. And I left. read more

These guys know feet and they know shoes, and when you have feet like mine (huge bunions, neuromas, plantar fasciitis) you need this type of experience and service. I went to Faherty's shoes on Oct 24, 2020 to buy a $15.00 pair of Spenco show inserts for flat feet. My sales person, Who I found to be very unfriendly, ended up selling me a pair of new Balance sneakers for $130.00. The shoes began hurting my feet almost immediately. I tried them with the original inserts they came with and also with the Spenco inserts I bought. Both ways they hurt my feet. I tried them several times in the morning when I walk my dog. I went back to the store to return them, and they said that they were too worn to accept as a return and they offered to alter/repair them. I was at the store for about an hour while they altered my shoes. I wore them again the next day on my walk and my foot hurt badly on the left part of the heel. I am very upset with this store because, I went in to buy Spenco inserts only and the sales person convinced me to buy new sneakers. The new sneakers were $130.00 which is more than I spend on sneakers. The store refused to take back the sneakers. I explained to them that You sold me these sneakers, I did not come in to buy them, they do not fit my feet correctly and you refuse to give me my money back. They invited me to come in again so they could try to alter the sneakers so they might feel better. I think it is absurd that they sold me sneakers that are not appropriate for my feet and will not take them back. I have never had a pair of shoes hurt my feet so bad read more

This company is genius and there is no other place like it! I get a customized shoe lift here and it's great quality. They're able to disguise the lift (painting and carving it accordingly) and it lasts longer than the actual shoe! They have a set price for my specific shoe needs and the turn around time has been one to three weeks, depending on the time of year/how many orders they have to fufill. The staff is always polite. Kerstin (sp?) is a pleasure to have behind the desk, the guys know what they're talking about when it comes to shoes and they even keep it old fashioned - putting the shoe on your foot and tieing your laces for you. I may not look old but I am sure old enough to have pains in my feet necessitating orthotics. The staff was very helpful and gave me options to help my issue and fit my budget, although orthotics in general are not cheap. I only wish they had a larger variety of shoes that were more fashionable. Then again I think this is an issue with the shoe industry not making cute styles in a good for your foot, comfortable way. read more

Faherty's is absolutely the greatest. i wear a leg brace. My salesman first assessed my gait and recommended 10 different pairs of shoes.I need a wide width for the brace and a deep heel and wide toe box which usually makes me hard to fit. this was the best shoe shopping ever. Great staff who know about shoes and what's appropriate for hard to fit. I tried every high end athletic footwear store in Philadelphia until my podiatrist suggested Faherty's shoes. Faherty's Shoes provides a needed service for elderly people with foot issues. However, Bart's 'customer service' leaves a LOT to be desired. He was forty minutes late for the first appointment for my Mom and 1 and 1/2 hours late for the second appointment - I had to leave because I had to get to another appt. Bart does not like to be questioned as to why he is late. He does NOT carry a cell phone to let you know he's going to be late. I called the store to find out when to expect him and they can't tell you either. He was extremely rude to my elderly mother with dementia when she asked him why he was so late. He didn't respond well and left without having her try on the shoes. I went to the store to try to resolve the issue and purchase the shoes. Without making any accusations I asked what happened when he arrived at Mom's (after I had to leave). He said my Mom was rude and he refused to deal with her. He replied to me about his being late "where did she have to go to anyway?". He refused to sell me the shoes for my Mom and told me "there's the door" - motioning for me to leave. I'm sure that if the roles were reversed Bart would not have enjoyed waiting for 90 minutes for someone to show up for a scheduled appointment. Maybe my elderly Mom with dementia didn't welcome him with open arms but two wrongs don't make a right. Bart seems to care about Bart only. He seems to not care about his business or his customers. Will NEVER to business here again. Hope he does not treat other elderly dementia patients this poorly. read more
